Just started Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman now.
I am finishing Heir of Novron and have The Half-Made World and The Black God's War as my next-to-read books.

I found Toll the Hounds more difficult to get into for some reason. But the longer ago I read it, the more it grows on me. Some fantastic snap shot moments.

looking forward to it though, plus the tome looks damn massive :P

Lots of action and full of magic.

I'm also reading The Weeping Empress by indie author, Sadie S. Forsythe. It's a bit of a slog--not because the story is bad in any way, but because I'm reading a pdf version on my computer at work and can only read a few pages at a time.
I also have Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever at work.

So now I'm starting Greatshadow by James Maxey.

I'm also reading The Iliad and am listening to I Am Legend on audio. I Am Legend is really dark so sometimes I need a break from it while I'm driving. Also, even though it's not technically first person a lot of it is the main character's thoughts which can be intense in the situation he's in. I am enjoying it though, I just can't listen to it for too long of a time.

I'm almost finished with Toll the Hounds and am about to go onto Dust of Dreams. This is my re-read of the Malazan series, just so I'm up to speed when I get to the Crippled God, which I haven't read before.

I'm reading TtH now, so in like two or three weeks I might proceed further in the series and hell I cant wait heh :)))

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to The Crippled God.:)
So many excellent books being read here. Finished The Great Hunt today and have started Time's Secret. Need to do some catching up on the WOT so might do The Dragon Reborn next.
My reading is being slowed down by the Olympics!

Going to be a bit before I read the follow up to Queen's Command... didn't realize that it's (sort of) a zombie novel and it's not as much my cup of tea as I had hoped.

Tell me about it! I've done nothing but watch sport since it started!

You may want to start with the initial trilogy (Sword/Elfstone/Song of Shannara) as these still contain some of the mistery of 'what happened before'
Ronald

Just pickup 'The Malloreon': Picks up where the Belgariad left off.
I did a Terry Brooks reread not long ago, think I started it with the new prequel. Can't remember if it had spoilery effect or not though. Are you going right through to the last one?
Also have fond memories of Belgariad and Malloreon.

I loved the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy! Hope you enjoy Green Angel Tower.

You should definitely read the First Law series from Abercrombie as well as Best Served Cold before the Heroes if you haven't already. It's all related and events in the Heroes won't make sense if not in context. I know the word out there is that the Heroes is stand-alone, but it's really not.

Thanks, RuthAnn, I'll do that. :)

by the time you finish that series you will be so hooked you will jump right onto Esslemont's novels from the world of Malaz and then onto Erikson's newly released Forge of Darkness :D

I'm almost onto the Crippled God and can't wait to start the Esslemont stuff and Erikson's latest works. Bring it on!

Apart from that I also like to finish The Rook and Camera Obscura.

I read the Hunger Games Trilogy a few weeks ago. Although I enjoyed it, I was very disappointed with the ending.

I'm not sure what i will go onto next its between Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and The Great Hunt. It might be the Great Hunt before i forget what i read in book the first book!

But don't expect as much. Eddings relaxed during the Malloreon, as he says in one of the introductions; and you can tell. The narrative is not so taught, even though it has some good twists and turns; and there are moments when you feel he has just decided that something has to be so , regardless of whether there is any plot justification for it. But still a good read.
