I'm starting The Fires of Heaven today. I started The Service of the Sword yesterday, but will take breaks between short stories to read whatever else I have sitting in my current-month shelf queue.

Just finished The Last Colony. It was good, but I felt the plot was a bit weaker than the first two books.Just started Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman now.
I am finishing Heir of Novron and have The Half-Made World and The Black God's War as my next-to-read books.
im halfway through To Green Angel Tower, Part 1 with a view to read: Three Hearts and Three Lions, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and maybe The Dancer From Atlantis

I just began Elaine Edelson's Aries Fire on my iPad for indoor reading and tomorrow will begin Book 2 in the Oran Trilogy (i.e.: Sadar's Keep) by Midori Snyder in paperback for outdoor reading. Once I've completed Book 2, I'll begin Book 3 (i.e.: Beldan's Fire), also in paperback.

looking forward to it though, plus the tome looks damn massive :P
I just finished reading "Zikhin: Book One of the Tome series" by A.J. Culpepper:Zikhin
Lots of action and full of magic.
I'm currently well into the 10th Harry Dresden novel, Small Favor. I just love this series. It's awesome! I'm also reading The Weeping Empress by indie author, Sadie S. Forsythe. It's a bit of a slog--not because the story is bad in any way, but because I'm reading a pdf version on my computer at work and can only read a few pages at a time.
I also have Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever at work.
I'm still plugging away at The Crippled God by Erikson, but I imagine I'll start reading Shadow Games by Glen Cook and Guardians of the West by Eddings. I also want to get to American Gods this month, and if I have time, The Lies of Locke Lamora. Whew! Kind of daunting when it's all written out like that.
Finished Odd and the Frost Giants. Quick read. It was a cute story. So now I'm starting Greatshadow by James Maxey.
I just finished first two short novels from Bauchelain and Korbal Broach: Three Short Novels of the Malazan Empire, Volume One, leaving the third one for later and also starting with Memories of Ice.
I'm reading Rise of Empire. Wow! I was reminded of how much I love this series right away. I love that the perspective changes with each chapter because it always leaves me wanting more. I think I'm going to have to check in at the Riyria Revelations group to geek out over this book more.I'm also reading The Iliad and am listening to I Am Legend on audio. I Am Legend is really dark so sometimes I need a break from it while I'm driving. Also, even though it's not technically first person a lot of it is the main character's thoughts which can be intense in the situation he's in. I am enjoying it though, I just can't listen to it for too long of a time.
Reading Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. Also reading Imager by L. E. Modesitt Jr. Will likely finish them withing a week. I know that I will read Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton sometime this month. I'm sure I'll have time to read four or five other books this month, but not sure yet which ones those will be.
I finished The Hammer and the Blade, which was fun, and started The Giant Anthology of Science Fiction, a collection from 1954 that includes stories by Leigh Brackett, Robert A. Heinlein, Jack Williamson and others, after seeing a write-up about it on blackgate.com.

I'm almost finished with Toll the Hounds and am about to go onto Dust of Dreams. This is my re-read of the Malazan series, just so I'm up to speed when I get to the Crippled God, which I haven't read before.

So many excellent books being read here. Finished The Great Hunt today and have started Time's Secret. Need to do some catching up on the WOT so might do The Dragon Reborn next.
My reading is being slowed down by the Olympics!
My reading is being slowed down by the Olympics!
Finishing up Stackpole's At the Queen's Command and C. S. Friedman's new Coldfire novella, Dominion. Trying to catch up with about half a dozen Honor Harrington novels, starting with War of Honor, for another Goodreads group. I'm excited to get to one I haven't actually read yet.Going to be a bit before I read the follow up to Queen's Command... didn't realize that it's (sort of) a zombie novel and it's not as much my cup of tea as I had hoped.
I'll be finishing Beldan's Fire by Midori Snyder tomorrow and then I'll begin Terry Brooks' Shannara epic, beginning with First King of Shannara. For several years this series came highly recommended to me by a colleague who retired this past spring. In homage to his tenure, I'm looking forward to reading this epic from beginning to end.
My reading is being slowed down by the Olympics!Tell me about it! I've done nothing but watch sport since it started!
I finally picked up Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, as I would like to see his personal writing style & imagination before starting the last books in the Wheel of Time series that he has written. Just finishedd Mistb orn 1: The Final Empire that I found an easy and agreeable read with interesting new magic.

I did a Terry Brooks reread not long ago, think I started it with the new prequel. Can't remember if it had spoilery effect or not though. Are you going right through to the last one?
Also have fond memories of Belgariad and Malloreon.

I just finished reading Lindsay Buroker's Emperor's Edge series. Loved Book One and am moving on to Book Two now. After that, I want to try Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes. The Emperor's Edge

You should definitely read the First Law series from Abercrombie as well as Best Served Cold before the Heroes if you haven't already. It's all related and events in the Heroes won't make sense if not in context. I know the word out there is that the Heroes is stand-alone, but it's really not.
I just finished Gardens of the Moon. Starting Deadhouse Gates. I plan to read the whole Malazan Series. By the time I finish this series it will be time to start a re-read of The Wheel of Time just in time for the final book to come out.
I read King of Thorns this week and was totally blown away. I don't think anything will compare until the Daylight War comes out in February./has book depression

Thanks, RuthAnn, I'll do that. :)

Bring it on!
I first read elantris as scheduled. Very good book by the way. Last week I finished reading the hunger games trilogy. It was very good YA. It had resemblances with twilight. The same tension between the leading female character and two boys.
In preparation for the Guild Wars 2 release later this month, I wanted to dig a bit into the lore of the game and started reading Ghosts of Ascalon.Apart from that I also like to finish The Rook and Camera Obscura.

I'm on the last Farseer Trilogy book.Assassin's Quest its started a bit slow but getting much better :)I'm not sure what i will go onto next its between Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and The Great Hunt. It might be the Great Hunt before i forget what i read in book the first book!
All done with The Giant Anthology of Science Fiction and decided it was time for some steampunk: From the Deep of the Dark by Stephen Hunt.

But don't expect as much. Eddings relaxed during the Malloreon, as he says in one of the introductions; and you can tell. The narrative is not so taught, even though it has some good twists and turns; and there are moments when you feel he has just decided that something has to be so , regardless of whether there is any plot justification for it. But still a good read.
