Just finished Bitter Wash Road by A.A Garry Disher.Racism, misogyny, domestic violence, widespread corruption, police brutality and child abuse, a depressing window on Australian life maybe, but it caught and held me from the first page.

I enjoyed Adrian Hyland's first novel, Moonlight Downs - intrigue in the outback with the feisty half-Aboriginal, half-white Emily Tempest. I'm a fan!
