Hi, I'm Anne. Just started reading PNR this summer and I'm new to goodreads. :) I am loving the LOTU series and am just starting Rogue Rider. Never read the demonica series though... Should I pick it up or am I too messed up and out of order? Lol
I would definitely recommend the Demonica series, it's one of my favorites and it does have some overlap with the Lord of Deliverance series. Oh, and welcome to the group!
Hi, my name's Kelli. I just finished reading Gena's LOTU and the AOTD series and I'm addicted!! I definitely plan to read her other novels very soon.
Hi, my name Krista, and my favorite series is LOTU! I am looking forward to chatting with you all. I am 27 and a book a holic!
Hey guys! So my name is Breanna. I've honestly only read two of Gena's books, and they where great! I am aiming to read every book of hers (because they look absolutely amazing) and I'm sure I will. The first time I read her book, Alice in Zombie land, I was hooked on the series and her. I wish I could be as good of a writer as her. I am definitely aiming to it. (A goal of mine is to publish a book)
So that was a bit about me, and my interests. :)
Hello my name is Danielle :) Gena Showalter is my all time favorite writer. I have enjoyed every book I have read of hers and that is everything she has published except for literally under a handful of them. I own them, I just have not gotten around to reading them !!! (I own eve of hers on my kindle) I enjoy a lot of other authors but I mostly stick to paranormal romance and some erotica (m on f) I still blush when I read parts in novels I dont know if I will ever get over that lol. I am a member of Gena's Fan Club. If I could choose any author to meet it would be her. My favorite series is Lord of the Underworld with The White Rabbit Chronicles second. But really who am I kidding I love them all... I look forward to being a part of this group!!!
Hi,I'm jessica and I'm a huge book addict.
I started with Gena's Atlantis books and fell in love :).
I continued with the Alien Huntress books but they weren't really my cup of tea.
I love Gena's writing style but have to admit that I don't like all of her books. SORRY.
I didn't like the first OTHERWORLD ASSASSIN book but loved the second :).
I'm currently reading the LOTU series and Angels of the Dark series.
I'm finished with the 3rd LOTU book and think they are getting better and better.
The Angels of the Dark books I love from the first book.
So I'm really happy Sarah invited me to this group. THANK YOU!
Welcome Jessica, LOTU for me the best books series i ever read, i hope you enjoy the rest of them, waiting for ur opinion on them :)
It's great to have you here, Jessica. :-)Don't worry, you don't have to like every single one of Gena's books to be a part of this group. The differing opinions are what makes this place interesting.
Hi. I've been a member of this group for awhile now. I absolutely loved the LOFU books. However, I stopped reading Gena's books after Paris' story, The Darkest Seduction. I tried Last Kiss Goodnight, but it was just too religious & preachy for me. Also, I noticed, with both books, the snappy dialogue is missing & the sex scenes are almost wholesome. Both are not trademarks of Gena Showalter. Has she resumed her original writing style, like the earlier LOTU books? Any information on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Mhollie the last LOTU world book was not the same style as the beginning of the series. There wasn't if I'm remembering correctly any mention of the artifacts and it was not nearly as hot as the previous books. Its kinda disappointing but I did personally still like the book. However as I was reading it I felt she was trying to please the mainstream more than her devoted followers. I haven't given up on her yet and hope that Torin's book is more of what we are use to.
Hi Everyone. My name is Shannon. I'm a relatively new to Gena's books but I must admit I've loved every one I've read. I do have a fair few of the LOTU books but am waiting until I have them all to start the series. It's nice to know that you are all here to chat with as I explore their world. Happy Reading!
Mhollie wrote: "Hi. I've been a member of this group for awhile now. I absolutely loved the LOFU books. However, I stopped reading Gena's books after Paris' story, The Darkest Seduction. I tried Last Kiss Goodn..."Hi Mhollie,
I found out in this forum that Gena was really ill in 2011. That's when she found religion.
This seems to have affected her writing style.
But I hope she doesn't keep it on.
I'm currently reading book 5 of the Lords and think it's getting better an better. So I don't know about the style "The Darkest Seduction" yet :).
I loved, loved, loved her Atlantis books.
I didn't like the Alien Huntress books, but they were steamy at least :).
But I've read The Last Kiss Goodnight and couldn't really like the book. It simply wasn't my cup of tea.
The Second Book "Black & Blue" I loved. I also found the beloved snappy dialogue & steamy sex scenes.
I've also read the Angels of The Dark:
-> Book 1 (Wicked Nights) = great read, I wasn't disappointed at all
-> Book 2 (Beauty Awakened) = WTF?! I still don't know what the Hero & Heroine really did. The Story was interesting. But hot & steamy, where are you?
-> Book 3 (Burning Dawn) = I've read the first 2 chapters on the GS app and it sounds that the book will get steamy. I hope it will be when I have the whole book.
I can live with Gena as long as 1 book is boring an the next one is great again. But I really hope that she won't change her writing style completely to the boring-religious-don't know if the characters had sex or not-style.
I really loved her and she set some really high expectations as what a reader expects from a Gena Showalter book.
I generelly don't need tons of sex scenes. But if the GS books have always been hot & steamy I want the next ones to be the same.
I't the same with Kresley Cole's books. I know what to expect from an Immortals After Dark book and I would be completely devastated if she would change her style so drastically.
Priscilla & Jessica, thank you so much for you input. I am still up in the air. Maybe I'll give "Black & Blue" a read after I finish my BDB re-read for the upcoming release of the "The King". Thanks again.
Hi! My name is Tanya and I am a huge Gena fan. I've read the LoTU series and the Angels of the Dark. I am now working on the Alien Huntress series. Paranormal romance is my favorite genre and try to read as much of it as I can possibly fit in my brain. :)
Hello! My name is Emily. =] I am currently on The Darkest Whisper in the LoTU series, I know I'm a little slow on the uptake here but I have to say I am in LOVE with them all so far. However, I have a question and I wasn't sure where to post it. Do you think I HAVE to read The Darkest Angel next? Or can I just skip it and head on into The Darkest Passion? I'm not a huge fan of the harpies but I don't want to miss anything. =[
