I quite liked the ending, there were a few twists i didn't see coming and i thought the abrupt ending set it up nicely for the sequel.I have yet to read Travelling Vampire or Dark Mountain but i also liked The Stake and along with One Rainy Night and Island are my favourites so far.

William (wmcc) Hive really good so far. It's reminding me of the great John carpenter movie The Thing.

I hear ya.I'm looking forward to the midnight tour but i'm trying to pace myself i just know i'll be disappointed, once it's done that's it,no more beast house books.

I have had a few Tim Curran books on my Kindle for awhile now and i'm glad i have finally gotten to read him.His description of antarctica and the isolation are brilliant and i'll definitely be reading more from him.

It was actually the other way around for me: I saw gifs of the movie and only later learned it's based on a book.

Orgy of Souls Orgy of Souls by Wrath James White this one is a novella but it is so good. I see why this is one of his top selling books.

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Dead sea is on my list, might suggest that one for a future group read.

I think I will suggest A Hacked-Up Holiday Massacre by Bentley Little for December.

The clickers books look good.I have yet to read Gonzalez but I'm a fan of Keene.I just started
Scratch.

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Scratch is still on my list. The clickers books are good but not my favorites by Brian Keene, I haven't read any of Gonzalez 's novels either.

message 120: by Char (new)

Char Skin Medicine RULED. I gave it 4.5*.

I also just read The Hoard. It also RULED!
I'm now reading They Thirst.

message 121: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I wouldn't mind reading the hoard, it just isn't the top of my list right now.

message 122: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Im reading like 6 books right now..lol. Just picked up The Shadow of the Wind and I cant put it down. Its such a great story. I cant help but be pulled into it.

In Silent Graves is the weirdest book I have ever read, how far in are you?

message 125: by Justin (last edited Nov 08, 2012 06:48AM) (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
It gets way more bizarre as you go. I barely finished it, when you finish let me know what you thought.

I decided to put off Floating Staircase for awhile and start The Rising

message 127: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Floating Staircase isnt that great neway. Very misleading.

message 128: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
That's what I have heard. That it is more of a murder mystery with just a tiny littly bit of ghost story. I have already bought it so I will read it eventually but not right away.

message 129: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I just finished The Rising by Brian Keene and it was very disappointing.

message 130: by William (new)

William (wmcc) That's too bad you didn't like The Rising Justin.I think it's one of Keene's best.I didn't really like the ending, but for a zombie book i thought it was quite original.

I'm almost done with Sorcerer and it's very very good.

Header I just told my wife what it is about (what a header is) and she is absolutely disgusted.

message 133: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Its actually a funny book. More of a gross out book than a horror.

message 134: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Don't think I would like to see the movie though.

message 135: by Char (new)

Char I finished They Thirst by Robert McCammon. It was sort of like Salem's Lot except it took place in LA and there were LOTS more vampires. 4 stars

I read Virginia Creeper and thought it was decent, but had a lot of misspelled words and misplaced apostrophes. 3 stars

I just re-read Frankenstein. I didn't like it as much this time.

I just started Dennis Lehane's new book Live by Night. I'm pretty psyched. Boston, mob, 1920's. It seems to have it all. : )

message 144: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I just started Trinity Trinity by Kristin Dearborn after this if I have time before December's group read I will most likely start Header 2 by Edward Lee

message 145: by Char (new)

Char William, I remember Fevre Dream being one of my favorite books when I was a teen. I wonder how well it would hold up now? I might have to re-read that one.

message 146: by William (new)

William (wmcc) I'm enjoying it Charlene. The pace is a little slower to what I've been reading lately but I'm loving all the history and I'm also getting to learn all about steamboats.lol.If you decide to re-read it let me know what you think.

message 147: by Char (new)

Char Have you ever read his story The Sandkings? I ran across it in a collection years ago, and to this day it remains my favorite.

message 148: by William (new)
