Addy wrote: "I'm Not Sam sounds good. Are they making that into a movie? I thought I read something about it."

according to the intro that was the plan but the story just wasnt written in a way that would adapt to film so they are making a sequel called where is Lily? that will be a short film.

Nice! I'm heading out of town this weekend and my schedule is still blurry but I'll send you a PM next week for sure. Thank you!

posting Eros is towards the top of my tbr list. I have been trying to get ahold of a print copy for a long time now.

message 306: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I'll be starting Seed and Shadowland.

message 307: by Char (new)

Char *gasp* Seed is so good! I think you will really like it, Addy. :)

message 308: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
seed was awesome, the neighbours was good also but more of a thriller. her next one is another horror and I can't wait,I already have it pre ordered

message 309: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments That's awesome! I'm excited to start it! How bout Shadowland? Never read Straub before. I also have Mystery and Floating Dragon from him.

message 310: by Char (new)

Char I loved Shadowland too. Next to Ghost Story, it's my favorite Straub. Two young men go to an uncle's house for the summer-and the uncle is a very strange magician. Many scares ensue!
I hope you like it! :)

sounds good, the only straub I ever read was lost boy, lost girl and I enjoyed it. ghost story has been on my list for awhile, I started it back in high school but then my dog got ahold of it and chewed it all up and I never bought another one.

message 312: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Charlene, I am enjoying it immensely! I love how he writes. Justin, sorry to hear about your book. I've been trying to score a copy of Ghost Story, but haven't found it...yet:)

message 313: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Poisoning Eros 1 and 2. Have t be honest they need to come together. I think part 2 makes the story. The first one is good but more gross out horror with not a big back story but part two really turns it into a novel.

message 314: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I'm gonna try to delve into Under The Done, though the copy I downloaded is kinda not right. Choppy in some places, but I'll make do.

I started reading On Dublin Street last night. I will probably start Triage soon

message 316: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Maybe we could do Under the Dome as a buddy read after you guys finish Infernal Angel. (I never was able to borrow Infernal Angel and didn't like the first in the series enough to buy it.)

message 317: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I've been reading throug a bunch of my short free e-books. Read a few of the Light brothers over the last few days.

message 318: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished suffer the flesh by Monica O'Rourke.

Reading A Writers Tale by Richard Laymon now.

I started It Drinks Blood last night, I am also working on On Dublin Street.

I haven't heard of A Writers Tale. What's it about?

message 321: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Under The Dome is a huge book. How would u go doing a buddy read with that? I'd like to, but I'm afraid I'd fall behind.

message 322: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
if you are doing a buddy read you can take as long as you want to read it. I would suggest doing 15% or something per week and letting it take however long it takes to finish.

message 323: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Good idea. That makes sense.

message 324: by [deleted user] (new)

Let me know how It Drinks Blood is. I've been meaning to pick that up.

A Writers Tale is a semi bio by Richard Laymon. It's also about the struggles aspiring writers face. Really highly rated. It's in my currently reading if you want more detail on it. Took me a while to find it on here.

message 325: by [deleted user] (new)

A Writer's Tale

This is it. Just worked out how to do this.

message 326: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
It Drinks Blood was good, it was my first J.F. Gonzalez book other than the clickers series and I really liked it.

message 327: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll need to grab a copy. Survivor and Primitive are really enjoyable reads too

message 328: by Scott (last edited Apr 17, 2013 02:56PM) (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I'm up for an Under the Dome by Stephen King buddy read 10-15% per week

message 329: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments ok. if anyone else wants to join, I'll set up a thread in buddy reads

I just started Creekers tonight.

message 331: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I've picked The Definitive H.P. Lovecraft back up and reading The Shadow over Insmouth.

message 332: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I hadn't made much progress with that one, I may end up just skipping to some of his more popular stories.

message 333: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I don't think The Shadow over Insmouth is one of his best. I'm reading it sequentially though because on the kindle the index doesn't jump to chapters.

message 334: by [deleted user] (new)

Creekers is excellent Jastin

message 335: by Char (new)

Char Oh I hate not having a linked table of contents.

I just read The Third Floor. It's a haunted house tale, but it wasn't as good as I was hoping. I gave it a 2.5, rounded up to 3. Any serious horror fan will probably be underwhelmed with this one.

message 336: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments That is why I wish Goodreads would adopt half stars, as I have had to round up or down on multiple occasions as well, and in the case of 2.5 stars I would always round up as I would find 2 stars a bit harsh (Their star rating definitions need to be changed as 2 stars out of 5 is definitely not an OK book). Thanks for the input on that story, have seen it pop up on Amazon a few times when I have looked at other books. It sounds ok, but doesn't sound like anything special to me.

message 337: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
with almost 900 books rated I would hate to go through and make adjustments because they changed their rating system.

message 338: by Char (new)

Char Pffft, I wouldn't bother doing that even if they did change it to allow half stars.

You're welcome, Robert. I will post a better review when the rest of my group is done reading. :)

message 339: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Oh I agree completely, and I wouldn't go back and change a single rating if they did that. The ones I feel I want to mention a half star I mention in the review. I just wish they would adopt it going forward, and I would definitely want them if I were to ever be a published author as incorporating them would lead to a more accurate overall average rating. I like Goodreads more than LibraryThing, but that is one area that I find LT to be superior with. I also wish Amazon had them as well, but more so with Goodreads as there a lot more ratings on GR than Amazon.

message 340: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Ok I was wrong. The definitive HP Lovecraft has a working table of contents on the kindle. It just doesn't show the chapters in the timeline at the bottom. Also, now that I finished Shadow over Insmouth I like it better. It has an active main character and a good surprise ending.

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I finished Creekers and started An Abundance of Katherines. I'm also reading Baumgartner Generations: Henry. not sure what my next horror will be but I will probably do a novella first, then maybe a laymon book.

message 342: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I will so read a laymon book with you...lol. Although it depends on what it is. Come on, what do u have in mind:)

message 349: by [deleted user] (new)

I enjoyed Mandibles as well.

message 350: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Hey Justin, I saw that u are reading some Nick Sparks. He's awesome! Id recommend A Bend in the Road and The Guardian myself. I never read Safe Haven, but I've prob read a good amount. I actually saw him at a book signing event but didn't know much about him at the time. I regret that now cause his books are really good. Enjoy!
