We have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo set up for a March Buddy Read. :)

Craig, I put down The White Tiger for April/May.

Ashley You're welcome.

Just a reminder everyone! Here is the Buddy Read List 2013 Buddy Reads List for those who aren't sure when a book is coming up! Keep checking this list periodically since I know more books will be added in the near future. :)

Gabe Williams (gabew75) | 3 comments I am reading Jules Verne's Five Weeks in a Balloon as my fifth novel to read in January this year.

Anyone interested in tackling that with me this month or next?

I have been on a late 19th and early 20th century classic kick lately.

I was thinking April/May, would that suit you?

Also looking to try and fit in the following before the end..."

Works well for me!

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments Ashley, could you set up a buddy read for Feb. for Beloved. Kaitlin and I would like to read it. Thanks!

message 256: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Sure! I have that book as well if you don't mind me joining in. :)

I started Sophie's World years ago and have been looking for the push to finish it. I'd love to do a buddy read for it, I'm happy to do it at any point."

Hi Stefani.

Sorry for the late reply. I only just discovered your post now. I'm happy to do a buddy read with you on Sophie's world in either March or April. I have too many challenges etc going on for February. Would March or April be OK with you?

message 258: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Hi, those that want to read Sophie's World later in March/April...I can leave the Buddy Read thread up if you'd like. I made a Buddy Read thread for February with the assumption people wanted to read it in February...oops! lol

Stefani - SpelingExpirt (speling_expirt) | 585 comments I'm happy to read Sophie's World at any point. I think April Lyn originally suggested February and I really am up for reading it at any point.

message 260: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Oh ok. That's fine. :) Even if the thread gets archived, you can still discuss at anytime, and that is highly encouraged! :)

message 261: by Alessia (new)

Alessia (allieonthemoon) | 157 comments Hello everyone! Is there anyone interested in doing a buddy read ofThe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in March? Either the whole series or just one book. I read the first three books a couple of years ago but got only as far as the third. Now I'd like to start from the beginning again and reach the conclusion. Who wants to know the ultimate question to life, the universe and everything? :)

message 262: by Jack (last edited Feb 09, 2013 10:47AM) (new)

Jack (jack_) Would anyone like to do Last Train From Liguria Last Train From Liguria by Christine Dwyer Hickey as a buddy read in March or April?

wow that is weird! haha. I'm up for March. :)

message 264: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I will get The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for March! If I am not mistaken, it is part of the Goodreads 100 as well? Gotta make sure, lol.

message 265: by Ashley (last edited Feb 09, 2013 11:25AM) (new)

Ashley Alright, that makes us 7 Buddy Reads in March. We only have 2 for April and 2 for May, so can any other suggestion for buddy reads wait until after March? I will start adding the other buddy reads to April and beyond. :)

message 266: by Jack (last edited Feb 09, 2013 11:30AM) (new)

Jack (jack_) Well then is it ok if I suggest Last Train From Liguria for April?

message 267: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Yes, it is. :) I will put it on the list for April. Thanks Jack! :)

It looks good! If I can find me a copy, I might just join you.

message 268: by Jack (last edited Feb 09, 2013 11:35AM) (new)

Jack (jack_) Thanks Ashley, yeah I've been meaning to read this for AGES and I love the author. I'd love for you to join! :-)

message 269: by Ashley (new)

Ashley That works great, Craig! I'm a little behind in Game of Thrones, and I know some others are just starting the series this month. So, that will give time for everyone to catch up before we start Book 3. :)

message 270: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I have them all put on the list! Looking forward to them. :)

message 271: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 127 comments Yes definitely! Count me in for that one :)

message 272: by Morgan (new)

Gerbil Adventures (GerbilAdventures) | 5 comments Hello everyone! I am new to the group. My name is Joyce.

I've seen you are going to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo this March and Outlander in April. Is anyone planning to read these books on those said months? I am happy to join you guys!

message 276: by Angela (new)

Angela (dreamer661) Can I get on the buddy list for The Poisonwood Bible?

Hi Ana! So glad you will be reading those books too. Can't wait!

message 279: by Ashley (new)

Ashley The more the merrier! I'm looking forward to these buddy reads! :)

message 280: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments For all those interested in The Master and Margarita, would you be opposed to moving it to April or May? If not, not a big deal, I'll just read it slower than everyone else :)

message 281: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I'm good with May. I need to take a break from the Classics for a bit. I am starting to feel bogged down.

message 282: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments May sounds great! I feel the same

message 283: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Ok everyone! How does this sound? How about we move The Master and the Margarita to May and move Storm of Swords (Book 3 of Game of Thrones) up to March. That way we won't have a lag in reading the series.

message 284: by Kara (new)

Kara (karaayako) | 3984 comments I should totally get on these George R.R. Martin books. I read A Game of Thrones and wasn't totally enthralled, but maybe I was just in the wrong mood for it. Seriously, I love fantasy books. It should've been right up my alley.

I'll give the series another shot.

message 285: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments I got hooked books 2 and 3 if that helps? I felt like Book 1 was great but really set up the story for the rest of the series.

message 286: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Awesome! Ok...I will get that changed and start making the March Buddy Read threads. :)

Kara, I don't like fantasy all that much, but I love these books. It's so weird!

message 287: by Ashley (new)

Ashley When do we want to do The Stand? I was looking at April and we have 3/4 books over 500 pages as Buddy Reads.

I was thinking perhaps May? We have The Master and the Margarita and The White Tiger up for May. We can still do April if you want...

message 288: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Is The White Tiger a big book?

I'm planning to read Outlander, A Feast of Crows, and The Poisonwood Bible next month, so I can't committ to The Stand in April unless I wanted to lose my eyeballs and go insane, HAHA.

message 289: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I've never tried audiobooks. They are really expensive and right now I don't have a library card. We are moving to North Carolina at the end of July and I just don't want to pay $90 for a library card if we are leaving in 4 months, lol. I'll have to look into it once we get moved. :)

message 290: by Alessia (new)

Alessia (allieonthemoon) | 157 comments If there are other people interested in reading the whole Hitch-hiker series, can we put the other books ( The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (Hitchhiker's Guide, #2) by Douglas Adams , Life, the Universe and Everything (Hitchhiker's Guide, #3) by Douglas Adams So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (Hitchhiker's Guide, #4) by Douglas Adams and Mostly Harmless (Hitchhiker's Guide, #5) by Douglas Adams )in for April, May, June and July so as to complete it all?

message 291: by Alessia (last edited Mar 02, 2013 10:45AM) (new)

Alessia (allieonthemoon) | 157 comments I know you did :D I just wanted to see if there was anyone else who wanted to read the whole series and not just the first book.

message 292: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi (essentiallybooked) | 751 comments I plan on reading them all as I have the Ultimate book :)

message 293: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I will get them on the list. :)

message 294: by Katelyn (last edited Mar 10, 2013 02:07PM) (new)

Katelyn (dramanerd08) | 73 comments I would like to nominate a book for May or June. Is that okay because its so far in advance?

I would also like to read the Great Gatsby with those who want to I have to read it for a lit class I am taking online and trying to finish up for graduation. The first time I read it I had a hard time and I really don't remember a lot of it. I would like to understand it better this time around!

message 295: by AJ (new)

AJ (ame-less) | 65 comments It's not too late to join the buddy read for Brothers Karamazov this month! I know I'm totally stuck a third of the way through, maybe some discussion will get me enthused again. Unfortunately, it's also blocking all my other reading because I feel guilty *not* reading it- messed up, I know :-)

message 296: by AJ (new)

AJ (ame-less) | 65 comments Catching up on this thread! Kara - totally agree couldn't get into Martin and I'm a huge fantasy reader. Anyone on the fence for White Tiger- go forth and read, it was very, very good. I'll try and join the buddy read for Hitchhiker, definitely on my TBR.

Katelyn, what book would you like to read? I can get it added to the list. Feel free to nominate a book for any month left in the year. :)

I have to admit that I haven't even started The Brother's Karamazov. I'm kind of tired of reading the older classics right now. I will probably come back to it later in the year. Any of the buddy reads (past, present...and future) can be discussed at anytime throughout the year. :)

message 299: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn (dramanerd08) | 73 comments I would like to nominate Pride Prejudice and Zombies for the month of May.

message 300: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I will get it on the list for you. :)
