*NEW* Buddy Reads Introduction
Kara wrote: "I believe it was nominated but not confirmed. We'd have to check with Ashley, but I'm pretty sure we can have it as a buddy read for the time period you've suggested. I might be able to join you--t..."I see the Mod thread now with the tentative list. Now I really remember why I'm so busy in July ;) So either/or, BR or 1st in series, would work for me in August.
Kara wrote: "Ana, there hasn't seemed to be a lot of interest in finishing (I think I will, but it seems pretty quiet in the threads). If you're interested, maybe we can rally a group together. :)"that would be great because i want to finish the series
Nathaly wrote: "I'm up to reading Gone Girl in September!"Awesome!
Ashley, can you add it to the list in the mod thread? We've got about three people for Gone Girl in September.
I will put Gone Girl down for September! :)Do you want me to make a thread for you to read The Tea Rose for July 15 - August 15? Or are we holding off until August? I'm confused on that one, lol.
Ana and Kara, when do you plan on reading the next book in the Percy Jackson series? I can make a thread for that as well.

How 'bout The Tea Rose for a BR, July 15-end of Aug? I can read it the 3rd week in July or the end of Aug, just how organized am I, lol?! I think there are 3-ish of us interested in a BR, and if by chance it gets thrown in as a first in series in Aug, double-bonus;)
Haha, I can do that. I will try and get your thread set up sometime this week. We may even get more interested in reading it as well. I am interested and I think Melissa was interested in reading it earlier. :)
This is getting funny... cuz now I see that several want to read The Dovekeepers and I was shooting for that in July as well. Ha, I think I have too many want-to-reads!
Haha, I understand. I have given up on making a list of books to read each month. I just read what I feel like at this point. Making lists is just too hard for such a moody reader like me, hahaha. I am planning on reading The Dovekeepers this week since I was supposed to read it last week for another group's challenge. I'm so far behind in my challenges I don't know if I will ever get caught up...still working on some challenges from May in another group!

I started an "O" book tonite, for the June challenge, and I really wanted to read it! Truly, I should have rented a movie instead, and started A Discovery of Witches tomorrow. Oh well.
Ashley Wrote: "I am planning on reading The Dovekeepers this week since I was supposed to read it last week for another group's challenge."Let me know what you think! I check for it every time I'm at Half Priced Books. I'm obsessed with that era and am taking a class on it in the fall so I figured this book would be a good intro.
Carrie, Trevor, and I are all planning to read I, Robot. Anyone else want to join us for an August buddy read? I know we've got some latent Asimov fans here. :)
Ashley, could you please set up a buddy read for us for I, Robot from July 15 to August 15? Thank you!
There were quite a few people interested--I think we should do it as a group one. We'll probably pick up a few takers. Connieb, Ashley J, and Melissa all have it on their TBRs too.
Kara wrote: "Ashley, could you please set up a buddy read for us for I, Robot from July 15 to August 15? Thank you!"Kara, are we still going to start I, Robot tomorrow, even though there isn't a thread yet?
Thank you Kara for setting up that thread. I'm hoping things are slowing down a bit for me now to where I can get caught up some! Hang with me buddy readers! Don't give up on me yet! :)Kelsi, I've been wanting to read The Tea Rose. Would you like to do it for August/September. It is close to 600 pages I believe.
Ok, I have put it on the other thread as a group buddy read in case others would like to join in. I will make the thread closer to August. :)
Kara and I would like to read Among Others in August. If anyone wants to join in, that would be great!
SilverRaindrops wrote: "Kara and I would like to read Among Others in August. If anyone wants to join in, that would be great!"I really want to read Among Others! I'm so gosh-darned far behind already for July... can you let me know when you get started?

Connieb, we wanted to start on August 1, but I'm sure we can push it to August 15, if that would be better for you :).
I will put Among Others on the August list. Just let me know by the end of the month if you would like it to go from August 1 - August 31 or August 15 - September 15. This way I will set up the thread correctly, haha.
Hey! I'm wanting to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower before the movie comes out (I think the 21 of September is the release day). Would anyone like to read this with me in September? It'll be a reread for me but it is a great book and quick, definitely worth the read if you're even remotely interested. :)
I would love too! I've wanted to read it forever but the movie coming out is a good kick in the butt
Perfect!Ashley, can you set up a thread in September for The Perks of Being a Wallflower? It's myself, Kelsi and Kara so far. :)
I will be setting up the September buddy reads on the 25th! I'm glad we have a couple for the month of September. :)
Ashley, when you set them up, can you set up Gone Girl as a group buddy read? I looked at it, and there are LOTS of people in this group who have it listed on their TBRs. Maybe we can get more to join in. :)
Lauren, looks like quite a few are wanting to read this in September, so I will just be putting it as the group buddy read. :) I'm glad you want to join in and hope you like the book! :)
I just added The Lies of Locke Lamora to my TBR and noticed that a bunch of the group members already have it on theirs. Do I smell a September or October buddy read?
Kara wrote: "I just added The Lies of Locke Lamora to my TBR and noticed that a bunch of the group members already have it on theirs. Do I smell a September or October buddy read?"Ha, I just picked that up (bought) this afternoon! Let me know if a BR comes to be?

Let's do October! (I already feel over-committed for September too.) Ashley, could you please put a group buddy read on the list for us for The Lies of Locke Lamora for October?
Would any of the other 7 people who voted for Brave New World as a group read join me to read it in September as a buddy read instead? ;) haha
Excellent!Ashley, can Kelsi and I get a thread set up for Brave New World? I think more people were interested as well, so perhaps set it up as a group buddy read? Thanks. :)
I reread that one all the time! I probably won't read it with you this time, but I'll definitely participate in the conversation.
Since we have 6 or 7 people wanting to read The Lies of Locke Lamora in October, I will be making that one a group buddy read.I've got it updated on my list for October. :)
