Mikki Thanks Debra. Green tea has been my drink choice as well and you should see how big my mug is!

message 252: by Mikki (new)

Mikki YAY, Kat and Judy! Mexican food all around!

message 253: by Debra (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments Taco Bell on my way home from work! That's sounds like a yummy plan. 7-layer burrito or Taco Supremes!

message 254: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60043 comments No, we are not going to order custom blended enchilada's! I'm still working on the tea.

message 255: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Reading a novella Postcards from Nam for my 3rd New Book, and hopefully this will be a good read! The Lost Girls: Three Friends. Four Continents. One Unconventional Detour Around the World., which I was thinking of reading, is 538 pages or so and I don't like the style through the first chapters.

Wish me luck! We're moving hotels today and sightseeing, but if I can finish the New book and start my Borrowed book, all will be well.

message 256: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Thanks Pragya and Judy, it was absolutely delicious!

Good job on the news update Judy, although the second verse could use a little help :p

I'm currently reading I Sing the Body Electric! & Other Stories, and listening to The White Tiger.

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Loving this book and it's only the first 5 pages.

I love having lovely books.

message 258: by Mintymedley (last edited Jun 14, 2012 08:19PM) (new)

Mintymedley | 60 comments I had a Boom Boom Burger from Brewsky's for dinner. It was amazasauce: crispy peppered bacon, melted pepper jack cheese, jalapeño coins and a spicy “boom boom” sauce combined on a flame-broiled burger, served on a toasted wheat kaiser bun with lettuce, onion and pickle chips.
Now I am settling down to do some reading with a pot of tea and a wild thunderstorm raging outside.

message 259: by Mintymedley (new)

Mintymedley | 60 comments Done with The Great Psychedelic Armadillo Picnic: A "Walk" in Austin. Might move on to Altar of Bones or might just go to sleep. That Boom Boom Burger is giving me a food coma.

message 260: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Argh, Minty, I'm hungry now.

Postcards from Nam finished. 'Twas awesome, though not what I was expecting.

Long Walk to Freedom is 14% through. I love it.

Also started The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn... but is it weird that I'd rather read Nelson Mandela compared to Mark Twain?

4.5 hours till 10pm
No tea.

message 261: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Don't worry Maria, I'll make up for the lack of tea - I've already had 7 cups and it's only midday!

message 262: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments It's so lovely to have teammates, Kat! Thank you! I'm honestly sick to death of this ridiculous concoction. (Or rather, the process of getting it)

Possibly because I'm drinking unsweetened stuff... sugar tends to make my head ache, and I do not like mlk.

message 263: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments I can't drink a lot of milk either, and I actually don't like sugary stuff, so I'm drinking mine 'neat' too! But I'm mixing it up with herbal teas too!

message 264: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4052 comments Wow, you guys are doing great! Yay Kat and Judy for finishing the whole enchilada. I hope to do it too. :)

message 265: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Oh, you're lucky. I've got the plain Lipton Yellow Tea. Lovely in small quantities, alright when it's weak... murderous at the moment.

Aren't the Topplers fantastic?

Will now attempt to reach Page 300 of LONG WALK TO FREEDOM. I'll be on at 9 to update points and such.

message 266: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Just realized I've been eating spicy too! There's a 'fast food' place where there's Indian, Chinese, Malay food, and it's ready in 2-10 minutes. I ordered roti + garlic chicken (spicy) and roti + mutton (spicy).

But soooo good!

message 267: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Totally should have been bonus points of eating Mexican food for dinner - I had it twice this week!

message 268: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments ... trying to figure out how 300 points ahead... was... possible? *faint*

Wow.

Definitely should be an idea! Along with more team games. This is the most fun I've had in ages.

Good luck, Tipplers! Keep working away in the kitchen, Topplers!

Not as far as I'd like in the autobiography, but i've got hours in planes and airports tomorrow.

Actually, there are only 14 of the 19 who have reported their points. We need those 5 to find their way to the report thread and add their numbers to the list.

On the Tippler side, we have these members who have demolished their enchilada...
Almeta, Debra, Emily, jaxnsmom and Sam.

Go team go!

message 270: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Ya'll are making me hungry! Now I'm going to have to make some real enchiladas for dinner! Which reminds me I need to go water my jalapeno plant...

Sadly, Judy, I have never eaten Enchiladas. Don't see them around here. I should try and find some for myself.

message 273: by Debra (last edited Jun 15, 2012 10:29AM) (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I'm definitely going to get my 2nd enchilada. Wondering if I read 4-6 in a series after having already read 1-3 for trilogy points, if I can earn double trilogy points?

message 274: by Sue (new)

Sue Almost finished my latest, 470 page book (and enjoying it). I've been eating burritos and enchiladas this week too.

This Toppler really is great. Something about it just pulls you in and doesn't let go. And it's fun and productive and I'm reading great books!

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Small is in bed, big has gone out so I am settling down to my kindle and a cuppa and England v Sweden in the background. This will not really be a distraction from reading as England are s***e at football (soccer).

Want to finish a new so get my mitts on an enchilada and join the gang!

message 277: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) I've got some books to record, come tonight - I'll do yesterday's and today's together, but I should be increasing my point total significantly. Come on, Topplers!

I'm watching it too Suzie, whilst trying to finish book number 6 and then start number 7!

Suzie that was an awesome game! I screamed and got excited about football which NEVER happens!

message 282: by Tajma (new)

Tajma I'm hoping to have my enchilada before midnight.

message 283: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Kat - I was so determined to get my enchilada I was only watching the crucial bits. I did no shouting as didn't want to wake small. And as I'm on the sofa with just the cat I felt a bit silly shouting! But it was a very exciting game!

Now back to books, I hope you join the enchilada gang tonight, Tajma. I'm so chuffed I have and want to get a second. I have until 3pm (GMT) Sunday to get it done so I have a little hope. As for the trilogy I'm not so sure, but I hope to give it a go.

message 284: by Sue (new)

Sue Just finished the first book of my 2nd enchilada and it's a big book!

message 285: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Well done Sue! I was all ready to read my third book for the 2nd E-C and then football got in the way!

message 286: by Sue (new)

Sue Sports can do that.
I'm hoping to get more reading done tonight and tomorrow. Hope your team is doing well.

message 287: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments I'm so impressed by everyone. I am just hoping to finish at least one book this week. It seems the audiobook I downloaded on my ipod is rather long and sometimes overly wordy. It is interesting and I've been trying to listen as much as I can. I also stared reading a "real" book yesterday evening, that I have great confidence I could finish with no troubles as long as I read a few hours at a time. I am already 50 pages into it and its less than 300 pages so I am pretty sure if I finish anything it will probably be that one.

In semi unrelated news...I'm not completely caught up on Downton Abbey (as of yesterday afternoon) so I have much more time to devote to my reading. haha. :)

message 288: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ack - it's evening - I need to get offline and read!

It's in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

message 290: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Getting ready to pack the bags differently (giving 3 bags to the airplane as opposed to 1, 2, or none, so things need to be shuffled around a bit). If we weren't, I'd be done. As it is... I don't like packing differently. XD

All's alright, we've got the visas, we won't have internet connection much except on the 17th (just enough time to report). we head out to Kruger National Park on the 18th, come back to Johannesburg to fly to Madagascar, and that's where we'll go without internet for a month or so... Then off to NY for camp (just my sister and me), where we'll be without internet for another week, and then possibly for two days we'll have internet before hopping on a plane for London. I actually feel like a globetrotter now! XD

As to reading, I'll finish hopefully all the books I've got in mind during the airplane rides. ^_^

The next time I see you all the Toppler will be over, so good luck, Topplers!

message 291: by Tajma (new)

Tajma Maria, I believe you have definitely earned globetrotter status.

message 292: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60043 comments I'm amazed with everyone's accomplishments. At least nobody is going to have to go on a diet from these enchiladas.

message 293: by Sue (new)

Sue Congrats Maria, and happy traveling!

message 294: by Maria (new)

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Thank you, Tajma, Sue!

Yup, Janice, that's the best part!

Though what I wouldn't give for some guacamole!

(Thinking about it, though, there's not much I can give that I don't need... so I'll just go without the guacamole.)

message 295: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) I've updated my reporting thread. Doing much better in the final leg.

I watched Jeopardy with my mom tonight and one of the clues was a picture of a certain Mexican-style food and the answer was 'the whole enchilada' - gosh almighty do I have a craving for them now!

Sue See, the whole world is watching!

Maria - Have a great time til we hear from you again!

I've got to get some reading done now - trying to finish I Sing the Body Electric before going to bed.

And what a confused brain processing it all. I've never read so many books so quickly. I can't imagine how Maria did it.
