Option 3: 20.2 School's Out For Summer

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

When he doesn't comply with their wishes, the bad guys in the story attempt to blow him up and succeed in blowing up his whole high rise including his aunt.
Proof from a review: "For example, Wade’s corporate rivals blow up his house (and his aunt) at the beginning of the book, but he didn’t have any particular emotional connection to his aunt — in fact she seemed like she might interfere with his OASIS plans, so rather than tugging at our heartstrings, the explosion both removes an obstacle and allows Wade to feel morally outraged toward the corporation without really developing his inner emotional life."

Ernest Cline is a Goodreads author.

AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!! I can't believe I messed up the very last post! I've got to do some moving around here.

Please delete two previously claimed tasks:

20.3 Ruby Red

30.3 Insurgent
The Yard

I claimed a GRA ticket for Insurgent and a BB ticket for The Yard. These are both still good as they'll both be in the new tasks I'm posting.

Now to put it back together

20.3 Reading by the Numbers

Rolled a 6, chose option 5: Blue ring (Europe)

The Resistance: A Thriller by Peter Steiner, who is a GoodReads author. (This is the only new GRA ticket I'm claiming.)

The book is set in France.

30.3 Aye, Aye Matey

Option A4: Jewel on the cover

Ruby Red (Edelstein Trilogie, #1) by Kerstin Gier by Kersten Geir

If you click on the cover so it's enlarged as much as possible, you'll see that the little red dots on the cover are actually cut rubies. (I also noticed she's wearing earrings, so that counts for jewelry as well.)

Option B3 - Suspense or mystery

The Yard by Alex Grecian (BB ticket previously claimed for this)

Listed as mystery

30.6 It's the End of the World As We Know It

Option A: Disaster

Eruption by Roland Smith

About a volcanic eruption in Mexico. An eruption is one of the types of disasters mentioned in the task description.

Option B: Dystopia

Insurgent by Veronica Roth (GRA ticket previously claimed for this)

Shelved as dystopia.

The Summer 2012 challenge is now closed – thanks for participating! Now you can move on to the fresh and exciting new tasks in the Fall 2012 challenge.

Echoing Kristi’s passage from the end of the Spring challenge, a special thanks to all of you who helped the moderators’ job along – by adding enough information to your posts to make moderating the tasks easier, by checking the task requirements before you posted, by recommending good books to fit the tasks, and by taking the initiative to do librarian type tasks, such as adding covers to GR.

Thanks for participating - and now, let's move on to Fall!
