Michael Cargill - 2nd edition of Saying Goodbye to Warsaw

I've read accounts from other people who have been and it's interesting how different people find it. Some are very moved and upset, whilst others are more indifferent.
I think it can depend on how much you've read about The Holocause in general, how old you are, etc.

I'm finding it deeply moving, especially as I wandered the streets it mentions not all that long ago.
I look forward to reading your WIP.

I read that a while back, Patti. It stayed with me for a long while after.

A sign of the best sort of book, I think.

Warsaw Story is now at the 36k words mark with plenty more still to come. I'm getting near to the point where the story takes a turn and some extra characters will be introduced/thrusted into the fray.
As ever, there's the lingering paranoia that I'll run out of ideas and end up with nothing more than a short story but that's just me be a daft 'un - there's already far more meat to the story than I imagined there would be when I first started it.
No doubt I've contradicted myself somewhere in that update, but hey! Life is tough as a pantster.

Right, blog update time:

Time permitting, of course. :)

When did you actually download it? I released a second edition a month or so back. I can bosh it over to you if you've still got the old one.
If you go to the very very start of the book and look below the title to see if it says Second Edition. Or look at the bit where I list my other books - if it includes Jake, you've got the most recent one.

I'm not very far into it yet but your main character has intrigued me.
And that's exactly. What I'd do with coffee powder too. ;)

Would you like me to keep track of any 'oops' I notice?

Annoyingly I can't actually remember the coffee powder thing you're referring to...!

don't want to do any spoilers.
i expect I'll read lots of it tomorrow while i nurse my hangover. or I'll just lie on the couch n groan...
stupid football

so many wonderful books. so little time. :(

I didn't bother watching the football, but Wigan beating Man City is fantastic stuff.
I had no idea that you read Jake! I'm off to the Morning! thread to snitch on you for not reviewing it.

I also found another sat. Grrrrrrrr.
Hugh is seriously freaking me out. Wonderful. :)

Mike, are you willing to have a Skype?
Would be quicker and easier to talk through the oopsies than for me to write them out.

If you like, just send me a list of the first few mistakes and I'll analyse them and correct the rest of them.
If that makes sense.

I think I can cut and paste the notes I've taken from manage my kindle somehow. I recall Joo saying something about doing that.
But I'm not explaining my thoughts in my notes. Just slamming an 'a' at the spot.
Might be enough though and you can always ask me about anything that's unclear.
I'll look into it once I finish the book. :)
Oh, should say I'm still really enjoying it, too!

Mike, it's as good as anything I've read by Ruth Rendell. And that's saying a lot as I LOVE Ruth Rendell.
I applaud you, sir.
I'll sort out a review and how to send you the revisions. It really deserves the time it'll take to clean it up.
Thanks so much for the hours of great reading!

You're welcome to share my meat and mead whenever you want, as they say in Game of Thrones.

I've decided to join the ranks of the woodcutter authors, and have signed up to CreateSpace!
The process of setting it up was easier than I expected but I've got to wait until the 'proof' copies arrive before being able to actually unleash it on the world.
It's my first book, Shades of Grey, that is getting the treatment first but delivery isn't expected until Thursday or so. Which is very annoying because I want it NAOW. I'll probably do some giveaways and stuff when it's all ready.
Warsaw Story, my current WIP, is coming along nicely still. It's a squeak under 50k words so far and a few more character/plot threads have sprung up in my head as well. I'm loathe to predict how long the finished article will be - at one point I thought I was going to struggle to make it this far!

I find when I go to highlights and cut and paste, it's a horrid format, so I paste it into wordpad then copy and paste out of there.

I know you've told me this several times in the past. My brain is sieve-like. :(
How did you get on with fixing the typos Mike? You've not said.
You'll want Shades to be completely clean before you DTB it, I'm sure.
Has anyone gone through it for you? I'd be happy to but it may be a while. It's end of term here so really busy.

Doesn't want to be sent to my kindle for some reason but it opens in the kindle app on my iPad.
Suppose I'll have to read it that way. Grrr

I always just email the files. Don't think I've ever plugged in this kindle.
It's fine on the kindle app. Means ill be able to read it while I'm at work.
Only during breaks, of course. ;)

As much as I want to thank you Patti, it's been a mind-numbingly tedious few hours.
But I'm dedicated to my craft, yeah?
Yeah?
