I see Hailee Steinfeld as June. I think she could pull it off, and she has the looks, too.
Because of the characters' multi-ethnicity, it would have to be a thorough portfolio search. I hope Marie Lu will assist in casting the characters.
Usually the authors don't participate in casting bc they sold the rights and now the casting directors and other management will take it form thee and they'll have to do the best they can.
Isabelle Fuhrman for June & Booboo Stewart for Day
So I just started thinking about this and I can't say that anyone seems to be perfect. Brenton Thwaites as Day...Although he has no Asian background I feel that with his hair blond and some makeup effects he would look the part and he can look younger than he is. There is also Isaac Jin Solstein..but I think making his hair blonde may look bad. Or River Shields
Originally I thought of Nina Dobrev, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens for the part of June...Although I question the acting ability at times I do think that they all could look like the mix of ethnicity that June has. Then again they are pretty big and that may not be the best move. A few others that I could see as June would be Haley Pullos or Sarah Hyland
I just checkted up Haley Pullos and she looks really good. and she's the perfect age (15)
Sometimes it is hard finding an actor at the right age that can actually act. I'm not sure about her acting. I also think that while they should try to keep in mind the characters ethnicities they also need to find two actors that have good chemistry and can act.
Also want to add, many viewers don't realize how difficult it can be on a set with underage actors. This can be the main reason a 16 year old is portrayed by an 18+ year old. There are permits, and laws to protect the youth from being overworked and many don't want to deal with possibly breaking the law with minors. Just wanted to throw that in there.
Definitely Nicola Peltz for June! She's perfect. As for Day. i'd like him to be utter perfection in my imagination, uncorrupted my those ghastly celebs. They destroy book characters with movies. ;( thank you very much! ;)
I think for June they should cast a Latina from the Caribbean because they not only look Hispanic but resemble that of native americans because of their roots. As for June being part white well...the latina and native american over ride that. That's just what I think. As for Day I'm not sure

day is not asian, if he does he should not even have blonde hair. he has a bit mongolian blood in him, the trait of his heritage is the shape of his eyes - which is more prominent than the rest, asians do have beautiful eyes. apart from that, he can look every bit Caucasian - I mean, look at anthony neely, he's mixed, and does he looks asian?
I'll have to agree with a lot of you on the Lily Collins as June thing. I think Alex Pettyfer could be a god Day...
Having met Marie Lu a few months back, sorry to break it to you girls, but day is indeed biracial. It's unfortunate that many don't see him this way due to his racially favored European features, but if him being Asian ruins it for you, then perhaps you aren't a true fan of his character.

I love Jamie and Zoey, but seeing they have already landed in other major mechadise, it will be tough to get them on Legend.
If I am not wrong both Day and June are biracial, hopefully they will find someone suitable.

Okay so I was thinking Zoey Duetch for June because she probably has the best facial features compared to Marie's drawings of June and out of all of the suggestions that have I read. But finding a Day will be very challenging. As for Tess, the actress has got to have some sort of a baby face compared to Day and June considering that she IS younger in the book

I definitely think booboo stewart should play day, a lot of people fail to realize that day is half Mongolian and half Caucasian, so he's not gonna look like your typical white boy or asian. Booboo stewart would have to bleach and my beef up a bit but he's an accurate pick. I think Ella Punell or Hailee Steinfeld should play june. And well tess is said to be redheaded (i think) so cintia dicker would be good(minus the make overload)if she was an actress rather a model. The other characters are pretty easy since their kind of typical and not really mixed like day and june are
I don't think Cintia would be good for Tess bc she's 27 years old and she's 5' 10". Tess was around 12-14 and considerably smaller than Day, or any of the other characters.
