I imagined Day as Asian, and I imagined June as white.

For June I'd say Isabelle Fuhrman (The girl who portrayed Clove in the Hunger Games movie). She has the perfect innocent face for someone of June's age, looks 15, and we've seen her be kick-ass as Clove. She looks calm and calculated like I imagine June to be. And she has the "glossy black hair" that June has. I have no idea for Day... Max Irons would be a good Metias. He has the fatherly look and attitude. What about Ian?

To be honest, it is much to hard to picture Day. With him having an Asian appearance, but having blue eyes and blond hair, how can you not picture Edward Elric?
That's exactly how I pictured, and he's an animated character. He would be too hard to cast to me. Booboo Stewart is definitely ATTRACTIVE enough. He is of mixed race, and looks more asian than white. But would he look good as a blond?

Nicola Peltz for June, Ben Barnes for Metias, and... I don't know. Leo Howard looks like Day to me, but he just isn't a great actor.
What about Alex Pettyfer for Day? (If people can suggest Logan Lerman, I can suggest Alex)

I agree with some of the other people, that BooBoo Stewart would be great as Day! And for June I think Hailee Steinfeld would be amazing. I really hope that the movie actually happens!!! :)

People keep forgetting that Day is biracial. Doesnt seem fair to only suggest white guys who have no asian ancestry.
Im not sure why I didnt suggest him before, but has anyone ever heard of Mario Maurer? He's a Thai actor. He's half German and half Thai-Chinese. I know he's not American but he's gorgeous and half white and asian.

@ Jacqueline JUNNOSUKE TAGUCHI is actually perfect. I dont know how his acting is though, as sometimes people from different countries have different acting cues than Western cues. But since I was imagining an imagery image, it's nice to have someone to imagine. To be honest, alot of Korean and Japanese actors and musicians dye their hair blond. It takes time to adjust to it though,as it looks different. But on JUNNOSUKE TAGUCHI it looked good in that pic.

I think June should be unknown and neither of them should be a mainstream actor/actress but I was looking on imdb and there was this one kid Seth Dusky who has bright blue almost Asian eyes and if he dyed his hair blonde I think he would be the perfect Day, look him up on imdb :)
The literary agent that represents Marie Lu stated a deal she was attempting to make with Hollywood fell through because Hollywood wouldn't budge on making the protagonist non white. Just yesterday this happened. I looked at other books the LA represented and legend seemed to be one of the few with people of color so it might fall through ever getting made :0
It's a big possibility as both day and June are racially ambiguous. As much as I would have liked to see it made, I'm glad the literary agent didn't want to betray the storyline

Not sure i can see Seth Dusky. he looks completely Caucasian, no slant in his eyes whatsoever, no racial ambiguity and he's a tad young. I have to agree with one of Jacqueline's choices. Junnosuke Taguchi is exactly how i saw him.

I know that they are kinda older but selena gomez for June, she looks Spanish and Native American and white, and Ian Nelson from the hunger games, he definitely has some Asian blood and is 18
Ian is the right age, but doesn't favor any Asian features
All that I want, is for the actors to be the age of the teens in the book. I get really annoyed when they toy with their ages. You can't use a 20 year old to portray a 13 year old (for example).

Curious to know whether anyone cares that he has Asian heritage? Because all the actors being suggested have no Asian ancestry, and are far from racial ambiguity.
I think that Lily Collins, Isabelle Furhman, and Troian Bellisario (although a little old..) would be great actresses for the part, they all can play a very strong character. I like Isabelle the best for June. For day maybe Boo Boo Stewart, Jeremy Irvine (with bloner hair). For Metias i think Ben Barnes would be a great pick. I really wouldnt mind seeing some new people though because all we see are the same actors and actresses. As long as the actors can fit the part and play the role really well, I am okay with it! I would love to see what they do with Day because Marie Lu gave his character such a different look, a Blonde haired caucasian and mongolian guy..
@lindsey I agree. Lets see some new talent. Almost everyone people have mentioned are attached to other series so most likely they wouldn't have the chance to play them.

Hailee Stienfield Is also another great pick for June. For Tess I liked Ella Purnell. Drew Roy for Metias would be good also! Phoebe tonkin is a good pick for Kaede. I think that would work out well, and for John Drew Van Acker is a great pick! That is kind of how i pictured him in the book. Mitch Hewer is kind of close to day along with

Victoria justice resembles June to me. I remember day saying that June looked "Latina" and she's half Puerto Rican and looks like she could be Latina and maybe part Native American.
Plus Victoria justice isn't already attached to another franchise like other suggestions.

Naomi Scott is absolutely perfect! I think she'd make a good June because she has racial ambiguity due to her mixed heritage(she is Gujarati Indian on one side, white English on the other).

That's cool, I'd only heard she was English, I didn't know about the other half! Yeah, I think there's a lot of potential there. She's gorgeous though, I can't remember, is June supposed to be super pretty or more plain? I read that series quite awhile ago...
I'm reading the second one now and June is described as pretty not plain. So the Naomi girl fits the bill
