That would be fine with me. Maybe end of the month or even July? That would give me a chance to polish off some other series.

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 1151 comments OK, I'll put it for first week of July but we can see whenever we have time we can pick it up :) I'll set up the thread.

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 1151 comments Me too, for once I finally have more books on my READ shelf rather than the to-read shelf! It's so much fun having buddy reads.

Lis I'll read blood bound too, depending on when it is :)

I've already read that one, but if you decide to read the next one I might join you for it. Isn't the fourth one out?

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Jeann, did you still want to buddy read Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison?

Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison

I know the buddy read for Kitty and the Midnight Hour is still going, so if you're still interested we can start Dead Witch Walking Monday (June 4).

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I got the first two books in Larissa Ione's Lords of Deliverance from the library, anyone interested? I know the third book just came out. Also, it doesn't have to be both books, either/or works too.

I have them first one at home waiting to be read, so I'd be interested! When we're you thinking of starting?

message 116: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments How about June 6th? A week from today. I have a buddy read starting this weekend and one on Monday, but I should be done by Wednesday.

That stinks that you have to wait so long. But I will momentarily brag that I somehow ended up #1 on the wait list!! Yeah, me! I guess it pays to be a little OCD and go in five or six months ahead of time and recommend books for purchase to the library.

I DO THIS TOO!! Creeping the library online catalogue months in advance - very effective.

Hey Sasha, Yup definitely still wanted to read Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison ! I have 2 buddy reads lined up for the first 2 weeks of June though, for Ill Wind and Touched by an Alien so we can do that on the 3rd or 4th week if you want?

message 123: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Sounds good to me! How about the sometime between the 18th and 22nd? That's the third full week of June.

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 1151 comments Yup that sounds great! Put up the thread :) oops, just realised I called you Sasha, sorry about that!

message 125: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Sarah and Jeann it looks like you are busy buddy readers... When does it work to squeeze in Blood Bound (Unbound, #1) by Rachel Vincent for a buddy read? June or do you want to wait until July? And if it has a compelling storyline will you be interested in continuing with Shadow Bound (Unbound, #2) by Rachel Vincent?

message 126: by Sarah (last edited May 31, 2012 03:23PM) (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments No worries Jeann, I'll set up a thread.

I'm good to start in June. I'm free the first week of June or even the second week. My next buddy read doesn't start until June 18th.

ETA: Totally forgot about Eternal Rider, that starts on the 6th, but any time is pretty good for me. I can read more than one book at a time. LOL

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 1151 comments Hey Lis, July looks like a good time for me. I've got a buddy read lined up almost every week so I can get through some to-reads!

I've got Unholy Ghosts for the first week of July but free the rest of the time. Would definitely be interesting in continuing if it's a good read :)

Actually, now that I checked, I'm #8 in the other library so I guess I'll get it within the month.

Julianne | 354 comments Christine...I noticed elsewhere that you are planning to read Web of Lies this month. It's on my monthly plan too, do you want to buddy read it?

I'd love too! I've got some other buddy reads starting tomorrow, so it would probably be around the 20 th or later until I could get to it. If it goes well I'm hoping to squeeze the third one in this month, too

message 134: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 354 comments Yay! The 20th sounds good to me. I've got big plans this month so I'm not sure I'll be able to fit the third one, I'm trying to use this month to make up some ground for my terrible May (only read 4 books).

message 135: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments Great. I set up a buddy read thread for Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep if anyone else wants to join. Start date around June 20

message 138: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments How about The Mage in Black (Sabina Kane, #2) by Jaye Wells , starting around July 22/23?

If we're still in the mood, we could always do Dead Man Rising (Dante Valentine, #2) by Lilith Saintcrow in August then.

I've never done a buddy read before, what's involved? I have all A&O's but not read any of them yet. I can read book 1 and be ready to read 2&3 for July. I would love to do the Lord of Deliverance #2 as well if you don't mind me jumping in if I'm ready when you start?

Basically, we all read the same book around the same time and talk about it: things you liked, things you didn't like, scenes that made you laugh or made you cry. The amount and level of discussion kind of depends on the book and the folks involved in the read. I usually will post comments as I go along in the book, but you have to be careful about giving away spoilers if you're reading ahead of others. It can be a great way to get a different perspective on a certain scene or even an entire book. Or if there was something that confused you, someone might be able to explain it better. It's sometimes amazing the entirely different perceptions two people can have of the same scene.

Definitely feel free to jump into the Lord of Deliverance buddy read if you can.

Hi, Sarah. I re-read the prequel last night and am about 15% through book 1. I'll be ready to read #2-3 in July, if you're still interested. If not, that's cool, lemme know and I won't wait till July to start them. ;)
