What Are You Reading Now?

Btw...Tied Man is suprisingly good so far, but very disturbing.
I have to try to finish it tonight so I can start another scheduled read of

Sweet! I will get to this one soon. Did you get this on Netgalley?

Regina & Wendy, How far did you get into Breaking the rules?

This sums up my love for Irving Zanella:

Sam's growing up is so... I don't know. Part of me thinks it's hoky that he had such a bad childhood; seems like a lot of these SEAL guys had less-than-stellar childhoods, so it's starting to wear on me. But I love Sam's story because of Walter and Dot and Noah. And (view spoiler)
I also liked that Sam learned a lot about himself and his choices, especially with Mary Lou and their marriage. It's easier to forgive him now. But I appreciated ML's POV in the previous book, or this one wouldn't have hit me quite the same.
Gina/Max - wow, can't believe I have 2 more books to get through! Love, Love, Love Jules!!! More every book...
For me, 6 was a great book in a lot of ways. But it didn't have the emotional impact that 5 had for me - 5 just spoke to me. How weird is that?["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Kay and Leea, I'd be curious to see what you think. It's edgier even than Comfort Food.

If this is getting a Comfort Food comparison, I'm going to have to check this one out.

I couldn't detach from Tied Man. It was so emotional, everything that Finn was being put through. I ran through other books in my head like Captive in the Dark and Special Forces and this book still came out as probably being the most horrific.
I read a book called Finding Home not long ago (which I think Kay also read) and it was like that book, except ten times worse. FH had more of a sweet romance bent to it and the romance in this book was born out of something hellish, so it wasn't sweet, but more desperate.
I'm rambling...

I couldn't detach from Tied Man. It was so emo..."
I love your rambling about books, Stacia. I wish my real life friends would ramble about books! Keep it up!

I just saw your avatar. LOVE IT!

I can't think of much content-wise that was left out. There was extreme and brutal abuse and rape - so those would be the main triggers. There were underage flashbacks and emotional blackmail/holding people hostage as well.

No clue what to read next... Tired man looks good - Thanks for another great rec. stacia. I have a full house this weekend so might not want something heavy.

The three of us have decided that we are going to be stepping down as mods. We're going to be releasing the group back to the original creators. We would like all of you to know that we had a blast while we were here and if you'd like to see what we're going to be up to now or have any questions or concerns, feel free to shoot any one of us a message and we'd love to chat with you.

Cheers to the three of you!

Lucky you! I am still trying to obtain this book. It is only for sale on Amazon and I do not have a Kindle. I have a Nook Color. I am sad. Dante is one of my favorites. :-(

Kay, it is definitely a contemporary romance -- reminscent of how Cara McKenna wrote Willing Victim, but expanded. Two characters -- male/hero -- established and fine with who he is, working clas -- female/heroine -- floudnering and trying to find herself. Lots of daily life and new job stuff and the romance builds slowly. But there are a lot of explicit and dominant style sex scenes. :) My review (I am so delinquent) should be up Friday.
