You might want to take a look at his blog, here: http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_....
I think this may be his forthcoming work.
Got 466.
Re 464/465, I suspect Peter is right. Regardless, we allow forthcoming books, and I see no reason the author having shelved it as to-read (which is odd, I agree) should change that.

So, I'm not sure if this is the right link:page unavailable

It is this book, without the cover, that needs to be deleted.

But keep the others.
Thanks!

Do you know the ISBN or title since those links do not work

I deleted the first one, but for the second, you need a super librarian.

Are these books not yours, and you want them assigned to the correct author, or are you asking for them to be deleted for some reason?
Note: We usually do not delete existing books, especially if they have been published.

At least two of them need a super, I think.

I hope one of the supers will follow up my comment, but, so you get a quick response, here goes.
Generally, any book that has been published is not deleted from the database, especially if it has been shelved by users as these have.
Think of it like a library. Books are not usually pulled from the shelves at the authors request.
There is fanfiction in the database already.
Maybe one of the supers can put this better.

Both books are mine but I would like to focus my Goodreads author profile on my fiction works only.
I have now separated them. Thank you."
We do not delete books from the database once they have been published. Users want to rate and review any and all books they have read.

According to the manual, "fanfiction which is self-published in book format" is allowed. Now, this raises multiple questions as to what constitutes "self-published" and "book format", but that is a discussion for another thread. Since I am not familiar with these works, I am going to leave them alone for now.

Yeah, I know that and personally I think it would be sad to see these gone since I was the one who added them in the first place. But the author specifically contacted me and wants them to be taken down asap, though.
He is "not comfortable with them being on here at all. They are works of fanfiction, and as a result, he has zero interest in being in any sort of legal trouble because of copyright infringement. It has no place on GoodReads, which is an excellent website for people to recommend and promote published works."
Maybe it was my fault to add them to the database without getting the permission from the author to do so first (which I really didn't know was necessary to do in adavance)...
It is fanfiction, and I know that there's enough fanfic listed here, but one might argue that goodreads is not the place for said work. I don't know.
Unfortunately, that doesn't change that the author, very strongly, insists on them being deleted...
Can't you really delete this series to avoid further argumentation and discomfort on the author's part?
Again, thank you all for the fast replies and help. :)

is a duplicate of this book, which I've made sure is correct: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/87...
Please delete the first, thanks!

I was asked to forward the following message by Footloose, the author of the aforementioned books that he wants to be removed:
Hi Karla,
I have contacted them via their contacts form and explained the situation. I have also advised them that according to their own guidelines, they HAVE to take it down, in that:
1) The LM series is not published and will never be published
2) It is not completed
3) It is a crowdsourcing editing project
http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/22...
According to this, they have to remove that.
I am not a member of the group so cannot post, but would appreciate if you emphasized this point.
Thanks.
[Btw, this is me emphasising the point--as requested. ;)]
The last book has already been deleted, since it didn't need a super for that to happen.
So, we're talking about the 3 remaining books:

Again: I'm very sorry for all the trouble. And I am just the messenger. :) Thanks.

1) offering up ff on a website is considered published by GR
2) If it is not completed then it should not be added GR
3) Should not matter

What or who is "rivka"? Sorry, I'm not all that familiar with the behind-the-scenes-processes (and the like) at GR. :)
Regarding 2): Really? I didn't know that, after all there's plenty of fanfiction or free-online-reads that are works in progress here on goodreads. I guess that's all "wrongly added" then?
I'll keep it in mind. Although, after all this toing and froing I'm positively sure that I'll never again add any book to the goodreads database. It is really not worth all the trouble...

I like to think of rivka as our Head Librarian. She is usually the final arbiter for difficult decisions.

I hope you reconsider. It's not all that often that we run into any trouble like you seem to have done. You seem to have gotten in the middle, between the author and GR. When I'm put in that kind of position, I usually request, politely as possible, that the person with the problem directly address to place they have a problem with. (In other words, I would have suggested to the author that they contact GR directly about the problem.)
Maybe, with a little luck, Footloose will join the author program, or at least claim his profile so he can handle these things himself.
I'm certainly not the final arbiter. In many cases there are discussions with other GR staff before I post here.
While in general we don't delete books that have been published, fanfiction is enough of a a legal grey area that IF AND ONLY IF the author requests its removal, we generally do so. (There can be legal reasons why an author must so request.)
I got those.

The book is actually "Hit List" by Chris Ryan, and there is already an entry for the book.

One of those used to be an alternate cover edition. I have added the alternate cover back.
NOTE: I could not tell which edition had which cover previously (the edit log did not seem to go back far enough), so I changed the cover on the one with fewer reviews.

There is no alternate cover; it does not exist in the world. The cover you've replaced was the initially solicited placeholder artwork, but it's never been published. The final artwork (as seen on the other listing for the book) wasn't finished at the time of solicitation.
The isbn that was listed in the old blurb as being for an 'alternate cover' is the same isbn as the published edition.
Sorry if my reasons for deletion weren't clear before, I hope they are now.
