Please delete this book! (pt. 12)
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...is the same as: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20...
Thanks!
I believe this edition needs deleting (merging?); it has no ISBN or other identifying data, and there are already over two dozen legitimate editions of this book:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/95...
Please delete this edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... It is a duplicate of the 1st edition. Yes, the edition I want deleted has a different cover than the 1st edition it is duplicating but it is NOT an alternate cover edition. Someone simply took the cover from the 2nd Edition and slap on it there.
I think those two are the same edition, but a only super librarian can delete one of them http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...

How do you know that? They also set the language to Japanese - there are no other Japanese editions with that cover
Paula, don't know if it makes a difference but Worldcat doesn't show a japanese edition for that year or that publisher. I was wondering whether the japanese part may have been wrong?
World cat does not have all editions of books unfortunately, searching Google has not turned up much either yet
Hi Paula & Sandra.. I think this could be of some help? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1Q84According to wikipedia.. the book is in Japanese but it has been translated to English
Paula wrote: How do you know that? They also set the language to Japanese - there are no other Japanese editions with that cover The book is Japanese, but the publisher is set to Harvill Secker, which is the UK publisher of the book, and the cover is of the same UK edition.
I guess whoever added the book has set the language to Japanese because the original language of the book is Japanese
Paula wrote: "Got 67"Thank you for that. Please delete this one too: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... ... Yeah, someone else it created the book page again for the second time.

We don't delete published books, or books with valid ISBNs. This is both.
That is the paperback edition of your book. I combined it with the other editions.

Thank You :)
I know we don't necessarily like to delete books around here, but shouldn't this one be deleted?http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/88...
According to this article the book has never been written. (Yes, I know that article was written 4-5 years ago. But given the fact that I can't find any mention of it anywhere, I'm thinking it still hasn't been written.)
Yeah, it doesn't seem to have been. But given that there's a legitimate ISBN assigned to it, and almost 200 users have shelved it, I see no reason to delete it.
rivka wrote: "Yeah, it doesn't seem to have been. But given that there's a legitimate ISBN assigned to it, and almost 200 users have shelved it, I see no reason to delete it."Fair enough, but now I'm curious. How does a legitimate ISBN get attached to a book that hasn't even been written?
Publishers usually buy them in blocks, and assign them to books. I don't know at what point the ISBN gets assigned to the book, but clearly at some point prior to publication. Or a self-publishing author can just buy one or two - and I suppose use them or not.

Which would have been lost if you had been able to delete it. And that is precisely why an edition which is not combined with other editions and has been shelved by even one user can only be deleted by a superlibrarian. Too many librarians try to delete in cases where the book absolutely should not be deleted.
Like this one.

Actually, it wasn't. While there are two audio editions, and their ISBNs are somewhat similar, they are not the same edition. In fact, they're not even from the same publisher/imprint.

Yup. Got both.
Yup. Got both.
Needs a super librarianPlease, delete this one: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/77...
The same book (same edition, identical cover), including ISBNs etc., already exists.
Thanks. :-)
Got 100 & 102.
James, any librarian who claims to have never made a mistake has either made very few edits -- or is mistaken in their claim. ;) You are in good company.

Sandra wrote: "LOL. I've certainly made a few, the trick is to figure that out then go fix them :)"I certainly fall into that category, too. To quote a favorite line that I often get reminded of around here, The more you know, the more you know that you don't know.
These two books need to be deleted by a super I think:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
&
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
The author apparently thought they were going to be published but now they're not. According to her the last one listed under her name,
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
IS going to be published, sometime in 2015 but there's no ISBN #'s as of now.
I'm just not sure what to do....
The only ratings those first two have come from the author, they have no ISBNs, and if they're no longer scheduled for publication . . . gone.
The last one can stay, and in fact I see several reasons not to remove it.

Can a super delete/merge this one please: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...I've combined it with the correct Italian version.
