Please delete this book! (pt. 12)
I'm repeating my request for a super to delete the following book, because it hasn't happened yet.This book needs deleting: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...

There is no alternate cover edition, there is only the one edition (in the English language). The artwork shown on the duplicate listing was only a place holder from the solicitations; the final artwork wasn't available at the time it was solicited.
You'll note that the one that needs deleting has no isbn listed, this is because it's the same as the other book so the isbn can't be entered.

Looking at the Change Log, it looks like this might be an earlier (possibly less complete) edition. Doing an image search shows several vendors who are using this image
for selling this book.I'm not so sure it should be deleted, as it may have been published (e-published, maybe?) with this cover.

I'm aware that the image is used by some vendors, but they're only using that image because it was used in the solicits and they've never updated their info. You can read the solicitations from Nov 2010 here where it states 'a new cover by Jo Chen' (i.e. not the one pictured, which is a modified version of one of the covers of a single issue published in June 09).
You can also view all the Buffy books (in English) for sale from Dark Horse on their website and note that there is only the 1 edition there.
This collection is not published digitally, only the issue linked above (which is one of the issues the hard cover collects) is published digitally, as a single issue.
I'm not sure how much more evidence I can, or need to, present to prove that there is no 'alternate cover' edition and that it therefore needs deleting.

Could someone please help. I logged on to my Author page today to discover a book that I did not write listed as one of my books. Same author name though, just not mine! How do I go about removing it?

Fran, thanks for the extra information. it simplified things immensely.
I believe it is the 2009 single issue cover that keeps showing up. (The dates were all 2009 or 2010 that referenced it, well before the collection was published.)
What is needed is for
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales (43 reviews) to be merged into
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales (most popular edition, over 100 reviews).This will require a super.

Goodreads, like a library, usually will not remove published works from its shelves (ie. database) just because they are no longer available.

rivka, if there are no works in a series (primary or otherwise) does the series automatically get deleted?

They were published, but I've retired them. However, if they cannot be deleted then that is perfectly acceptable.
Re 667/668/676:Zapped it. (Got into it through the series search engine--searched for "Jasper Fforde", and found the blank series at the bottom of the list.)

In all four cases, the books in the first links listed should be the primaries. As there are no ISBN on any of the secondary links, they should be one. The names of the secondary links are also incorrect as each book has an individual title and should not simply be named after the series name.
Please let me know if any more information is needed.

These are all different editions. Even though the ISBN can be the same, the publication years are different. (2008 edition vs. 2010 edition)
Re 691:I managed to track down the ISBNs of the first two, correct their titles, and combine them with their other editions.
I also managed to find the ISBN for the third one (8763810727 + 9788763810722), but couldn't put it in as it's currently put in as the fourth book's ISBN. I'm not sure if that's an error on the part of the GR user who added it, the publisher, or Worldcat. So I left that one alone.
The fourth one, however, looks like it does need to be merged, and as far as I can tell, the proper ISBNs are 9788763813914 and 8763813912.

Well, since the last two books were not published until 2010 and 2011, there was no edition of them in 2008, so something is incorrect.
Besides, I'm not sure who did it, but the books have already been merged now when I just checked...
I'm quite convinced it's correct to do so, so thanks to whoever did it :-)

Okay, I have read through this and done some checking up as well at some of my favorite vendors and comics databases. No one lists any variant covers. I think this can be deleted. I will save the image though just in case.

I thought the slanted one was better, myself. I figured if you deleted it I could get it again from the Folio Society website.
