Oh cool I'm going to try and find the black dagger brotherhood companion novel. I've been meaning to read
Although Father Mine is a stand alone short story it is also a part of The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insiders guide compilation. I have already read Father Mine so I skiped that and just read the rest of the compilation I hope you don't think it is cheating :)

I've finished no.93 - smoke on the cover
If you look at the larger image, you can see curls of smoke around the flames.
Can I have task no.112 please?
I have read Shoe Done it for my shoes on cover task and now I have to read a book weith a mode of transport on the cover. I suppose you mean something real and man made right, Lu? I mean something like a car or a boat or a bike.
112 - Read a book you started but didn't finish
@Barbara - Nope aslong as it transports :) A magic broom or carpet counts as well :)

Hey, I never said I was above looking for a loop hole. I might even teach you Laurens' a thing or two about that. :)
I was just defining the parameters of my task. Making sure I was interpreting it correctly. In fact I had a book lined up that had a boat on the cover. But when Lu said that magic brooms and carpets were allowed my mind went instantly to this book with a Pegasus on the cover which I could read in less time than the book with the boat. And if I want to catch up with you, I need any shortcut or loop hole I can get. :P
Ok, so I am finished with tasks 450 and 444.
Can I now have task 125 please?

I read Artemis Fowl for task 125.
. It might be hard to see but he is wearing a tie.
Can I have task 155 now please? And please don't let it be another book like Artemis Fowl, because my oh my was that book bad!

For task 155 - Read a book you bought at a sale I read
which I bought at one of the 24H sales of BD.
Can I now have task 416 please?
P.S. Lu you have me working on task 107 in the participation/score list, but that is Lauren F. And although I would like to get a free task I think in all fairness it should go to Lauren F.

I think I have fixed it :)
416 - Make a poll with 5 books of your choice - Post it here and we will then vote on it for the book you should read next. The poll will only go for 24 hours :)
108 - Read a book that has leaves on the cover
309 - Read a book that has a House Front on it

I hate it, because I could have read a book in 24 h. :( Now I have to wait a futher 24 h before I can start reading. The idea is fun but it sucks when you get it as a task. :) However I am determined not to use my opt out unless the opt outs count in the final draw.
ok, my choices are:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
and the poll can be found here: http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/70...

It is!!!!!!!
I like the task. I really do! It is just that I still have some fleeting hope of catching up with Lauren F and I know she will have read her task, asked for and gotten another one by the time my poll is ended and I can start with my task. So it is just the friendly competition that made me complain, nothing else. If I really didn't like it I would have used my opt out and I didn't. I made my poll so please vote!!!!!
If I haven't said it: I really do like this challenge and the tasks are great. There are some amazing tasks in this challenge. Tasks I would never have thought of. You did great Lu!

It is just the competitor in me that felt bad. The task lover and reader in me loved the task. I just hope people will vote. I have checked the poll several times already. :) If I could I would speed up time just to see what the final results are going to be.
Another great one here as well. I've been looking for an excuse to read a book with a house on the cover for a while. Of course now I have to find time to include in the existing pile! I don't know any of your books Barbara, but I'll go vote in any case! That's a brilliant task.
I think this challenge is so much fun! And suck it Barbara, you'll never catch me :b Just kiding!!
Oh, are you challenging me? Because if you are, you better get a hold of your pants because here I come!!!!!

Thanks for voting! It is a great task! Lu is very good in thinking up tasks.

Finally finished #100 - Nebula award winner - No Enemy but Time won the award in 1982. Took a while to read as it is not my usual reading material, and did not really make sense. An ok book.
Can I please have #61 next?
Thanks
Why did you change your vote Lauren F.????????
Is it because The Omen Machine has more pages than the Power of Six and will take me longer to read???
If that is the case, let me help you by saying that Naamah's Kiss has even more pages!

No I didn't do it for nefarious reasons! I promise.
I just remembered that Lu had mentioned to me once that the Power of Six author wasn't very good and I had only voted for it originally so that the vote wasn't split. But when I saw The Omen Machine was only one vote off from winning I changed it to the author I thought was best of the 2 most likely to win.
If I was going to vote purely on books that looked fun to read I would have voted for the Janet Chapman one but it would have been a wasted vote.
I'm sorry if I messed with your plans, I honestly didn't even look at the book length.

Ok, I believe you.
But then you should know that Lu herself voted for The Power of Six. Also, Crusader already read the Omen Machine and thought it was bad. You should read his review. :)
Yeah Janet Chapman is great. This book is the first in a series that is a spin off from the Highlander series which I recommended to you. The problem with her books though is that when I pick one up I won't put it down untill I have finished it. This can be a problem if I pick it up late at night because then I might see the sun rise in the morning before I go to sleep.
Congrats on finishing another book while I am still waiting to see what I can read for mine. :D

Yeah the Chapman book does look good, I even added it to my to-read list. Surely everyone who is going to vote has already done it, and you can just get started? Come on Lu give Barbara the go ahead. And me my next challenge!
P.s. I never trust crusaders reviews :D

Rules are rules. I still have to wait 3,5 hours.
And besides how else are you going to win if Lu doesn't slow me down with tasks like this! :D
Just kidding!!
