Nici (queennici102) | 62 comments In the US, March Madness refers to a college basketball tournament which each weekend cuts three-fourths of the teams, from a Round of 64, to a "Sweet Sixteen", to a "Final Four".

You must give your pickee at least 2 selections from their TBR and 2 that are completely new to them.

1. Mad as a March hare: Auracle because the premise seems very original.

2. Non Compos Mentis: Storm Glass

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Scarlett.

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Tangled Tides

5. Elite 8:A Game of Thrones

6. Nutty as a fruitcake:I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence

7. Final 4:The Hunger Games

8. Neither rhyme nor reason:Crossed

9. Buddy ReadWither

Glad you liked them, Mounika! If you're sure it doesn't make a difference to you I think I'd rather read Dragon Bound for a buddy read, mostly because I have it in audio and my books for this month seem to be weighted heavily toward print - I need to balance things out a bit! :)

Alyssa (jynx66) | 52 comments Here you are Mandy! I hope you find something you like. :)

1. Mad as a March hare: Book with an original premise, a funky title or set in Canada
The Stolen Child: I really like the premise of it. It sounded like nothing I've heard of before and it looks interesting.

2. Non Compos Mentis: Book with a plot that deals with the law, religion or magic
Burning Alive: This one is a no-brainer for me. I personally loved this book and it's one of my favorite series.
Extreme Exposure This is also by far another of my favorite series. (State senator, so it fits under law.) Both I recommend. :)

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Book published at least 16 years ago, with an alpha male or with a main character that's over 40.
Dangerous Games I haven't read any books that are at least 16 years old >.< soooo....I'm hoping just a lovely Alpha will count. It's a BDSM-ish themed book, I was thrown at first but I ended up liking it. I'm not sure if you're ok with that or no, but I enjoyed it.

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Go to your GR recommendations and find a book that you think your pickee would enjoy but that you've never heard about before.
Virgin River I've never read her before, but I'm interested in the series. Sometimes a nice Contemporary is what you need.

5. Elite 8: Book with a sports theme (go Eli!) or a best seller/super popular book
The Perfect Play Another nice easy contemporary read. About football. I enjoyed it a lot.

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: Recommend a book from a genre your pickee wouldn't usually read, a book you thought you wouldn't like that you ended up enjoying or a funny/light read.
Night Falls Darkly This one was a little difficult, but I settled on this one cause I had it for the longest time and put it off forever, even stashed it in a "give away" box, but I finally read it and really like it.

7. Final 4: Post apocalyptic book, latest book published by one of your pickee's favorite authors, book published on a leap year
Lothaire I saw you really like one of Cole's books, so here's her latest one.

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: Go to your pickee's TBR, go to a page at random, and pick the first book that caught your fancy (no thinking!) If by any chance that book is #19 in a series which your pickee hasn't started, pick another page and try again.
Dark Awakening I liked the cover and it looks like an interesting read.

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg?
If you are from Team Chicken {c}, recommend a standalone you think both of you would like to read.

If you are from Team Egg (e), recommend a 1st in a series that you'd both like to read.

Team Chicken
Ravished Sounds good.

I really hope you find something you like! If not I can try my best to do re-picks. :)
Happy Reading!

The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue Burning Alive (Sentinel Wars, #1) by Shannon K. Butcher Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs, #2) by Lora Leigh Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton Night Falls Darkly (Shadow Guard, #1) by Kim Lenox Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole Dark Awakening (Dark Dynasties #1) by Kendra Leigh Castle Ravished by Amanda Quick

Brett | 478 comments Hi Megan L!
I hope you like your picks! If any of them are ones you've read already or if I need to pick a different book please let me know. :)

1. Mad as a March hare: Rode Hard, Put Up Wet by Lorelei James
I love Lorelei James and her titles make me giggle.

2. Non Compos Mentis: Toil and Trouble (Jolie Wilkins #2) by H.P. Mallory
This one was a fun read.

3.(not so) sweet 16: The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, #1) by J.R.R. Tolkien

4.The lights are on but nobody's home: Texas Destiny (Texas Trilogy, #1) by Lorraine Heath
If you read this one let me know what you think of it.

5.Elite 8: Body Check (New York Blades, #1) by Deirdre Martin

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore
Good, funny book!

7.Final 4: The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld, #9) by Gena Showalter
I love this series and I love gena showalter!

8. Neither rhyme or reason: Surrender (MacKinnon’s Rangers, #1) by Pamela Clare

9.Buddy Read Egg: Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1; Feline Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh
I've been wanting to start this series for a while.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Pollyanna, let's hope I found something good for you.

1. Mad as a March hare: When I think of books with really odd ideas, I think of Christopher Moore. While his humor is not for everyone, I LOVE it! I would recommend, Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal or A Dirty Job. You can't go wrong with either of these.

2. Non Compos Mentis: There are the true fantasy books that are full of magic. But I don't really get that you are into this. You have a fair number of PNR books. I think we'll go with Covet. Great story and it is on your TBR list.

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: You have a number of classics listed. I suppose I will recommend a true classic and then a new book with an older alpha male. First, read The Little Prince. Everyone should read this book. The second book is Dragon Bound. You don't get much older or more alpha.

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Serendipity Carly Phillips is always fun and light. You've liked Sophie Kinsella and Jennifer Crusie. You will like this (well, if it is anything like most of her other books that is).

5. Elite 8: You seem to like thrillers. Super popular thrillers are super popular for a reason. They are fun and good. You liked the first James Patterson book so continue with Kiss the Girls or start a new series with Gerritsen's The Surgeon.

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: You've dabbled your toe in hard SF a little bit. But I am recommending you dive in all the way with the best SF currently being written with Peter F Hamilton's Pandora's Star. Does it help that he's from a few hours north of you in Rutland Water?

7. Final 4: Let's go with post-apocolyptic. It doesn't get much worse than The Road. Sure it's bleak. Yes it's depressing. But a good read anyway. If you want something with a world ending event but a much happier book, go with Nation. Besides, it's another book by another of your fellow countrymen.

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: The Cider House Rules. I really liked it. I've read hundreds of books between when I read this and now. Most of those are forgettable. This I remember. It sticks with you. Good story.

9. Buddy Read...Chicken: A stand alone we would like? How about Sleeping Arrangements? You like her books written as Sophie Kinsella. I think I can squeeze this in this month if you want to go for it.

Let me know which you will pick. I hope it's a good one for you.

Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison Serendipity (Serendipity, #1) by Carly Phillips Kiss the Girls (Alex Cross, #2) by James Patterson The Surgeon (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #1) by Tess Gerritsen Pandora's Star (Commonwealth Saga, #1) by Peter F. Hamilton The Road by Cormac McCarthy Nation by Terry Pratchett The Cider House Rules by John Irving Sleeping Arrangements by Madeleine Wickham

5. Elite 8: Flat-Out Sexy or The Perfect Play

7. Final 4: At Grave's End I know it's not the latest published in her series but you really need to continue it ☺

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: The Hunger Games or Faefever

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg? Let me know if you have time for a buddy read...

Whew! I'm so glad that you are happy with them. I was nervous about it this time for some reason!

I'm good with either buddy read, but I need to read Charlie All Night for another challenge...hmmm...which one to choose! Then again Kiss an Angel IS on your TBR list and it has been on mine forever...I have read both of these authors and they are usually a quick read.

Okay, my first pick would be Charlie All Night, but I will read either or both. My month is pretty open. I could start it as early as the first or as late as the last week.

What looks good for you?

When you let me know, I will start the thread for us.

Isabella Queirouz | 201 comments Thanks Sallie for these wonderful picks. Last month I had great picks too and I said to my picker that I want to read a lot but in fact I got busy with a new job and the result I barely read 2 or 3 books the whole month. So I won't say that I'm going to read anymore but yes I'm considering How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf, Dead Witch walking this one the title and the cover grabbed my attention,City of bones I just have to read it and the buddy read for Divergent I heard a lot about it and I'm very curious to know what it is all about and if it is another Hunger games. So for this buddy read I'm going to definitely read it with you if it's possible around 10 of this month, I'll leave it up to you if you want to create a folder for it, I don't mind.

1. Mad as a March Hare: Two + One = Ecstasy or Deception Point because I think both of them have original premises

2. Non Compos Mentis: Earl of Darkness Lots of magic in this one & the next two in the series as well.

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Captain Blood: His Odyssey or Love Only Once Both have alpha males as main characters.

4. The Light's Are On, But Nobody's Home: Awaken Me Darkly or Riding the Storm both popped up on my recs on my smut shelf & I noticed you read a lot of erotica so I figured that would be a good shelf to start with!

5. Elite 8: The Host is a great book & really popular.

6. Nutty as a Fruitcake: The Undomestic Goddess This was a really funny & light read.

7. Final 4: Fifty Shades Freed Well this was both published on a leap year & the most recent book from an author you seem to enjoy based on the rating of the previous two in the series.

8. Neither Rhyme Nor Reason: Lord of the Fading Lands I don't know what it was about that title that caught my interest but it did.

9. Buddy Read... Chicken or Egg?: Bride for a Night Well I just bought this book because I own another Rosemary Rogers book that I re-read about once every few months so I'm hoping this is just as good. Plus it's about one of the only stand alone books I look forward to reading right now.

Two + One = Ecstasy by Sasha James Deception Point by Dan Brown Earl of Darkness by Alix Rickloff Captain Blood His Odyssey by Rafael Sabatini Love Only Once (Malory Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey Awaken Me Darkly (Alien Huntress, #1) by Gena Showalter Riding the Storm (ACRO, #1) by Sydney Croft The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. Shell | 2 comments Nancy It was great looking through your shelves. I hope you find something below. If not let me know, I'll relook.

1. Mad as a March hare: Bobbie Faye's (kinda, sorta, not exactly) Family Jewels You've read the first one, which was chaotically funny. Why not try the second? The Way We Fall this intrigues me. It sounds very enticing.

2. Non Compos Mentis: The Girl Who Chased the Moon (magic) Loved this book! or The Pillars of the Earth (religion) Many friends have enjoyed it despite of its length.

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Magic Bites(alpha male) Curran is amazing. I devoured all of this series and wait impatiently for the next book. Dragon Bound (character way over 40) Wonderful start for a great series!

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Fatal Fixer-Upper or Fireworks over Toccoa These are two of my reccomendations from GR. They look promising.

5. Elite 8: Flat-Out Sexy (Racing) I liked this story. It was very touching. Mockingjay I've read only the first one in the series, but have heard good things with this one as well.

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: One for the Money Who can't laugh at a Grandmother who shoots at a cook chicken @ dinner? The Princess Bride Dry sarcastic humor...that and Inigo Montoya's revenge against the six fingered man.

7. Final 4: This World We Live In I loved the first book and hope the author ties up this series well. Sadie Walker is Stranded An interesting read, in blog form for a unique zombie novel.

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: Both of these are from your TBR: The You I Never Knew or Will Work for Prom Dress

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg? Serendipity *I'd love to do a buddy read, but work is getting to crazy. I'd hate to fall short on a relied read, so I must decline a buddy read.

These look great, Shell! Thanks for such good picks. I think I will start with Will Work for Prom Dress because that one is really intriguing me. I have already read Mockingjay and One for the Money - I don't know why Mockingjay isn't showing up on my Read list, because I have it marked. One for the Money was years and years ago when it first came out, and I don't have them listed that far back. I am excited about getting these read! Thanks for doing a great job.

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: Garden Spells This was recommended to me but I kept putting off reading it until I got it in a PIFM read and I so loved it.

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Carla,

Okay, I finally had a chance to go through your books properly and make some recommendations. I hope there is something in the list below that you would like to read in March.

1. Mad as a March hare
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I think it’s a funky title, and you’ve read sme of Kingsolver’s books and liked them. I think this is a worthwhile read.

2. Non Compos Mentis
This might be a stretch, but The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood deals with law in the future. After going through your list I think you might like some of Atwood’s books.

3. (Not So) Sweet 16
Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell, was published originally in 1990 and the main character was born 1954 (according to Wikipedia). It took me a while to get around to reading this book, but I’m glad I did.

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home
Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins. It sounds really fun!

5. Elite 8
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I have not read this, but my daughter did and really, really liked the book. It’s quite popular!

6. Nutty as a fruitcake
I think this book is out of your normal genre of books: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. I think it’s quite funny and enjoyable to read.

7. Final 4
You listed Adriana Trigiani as your favorite author, and her latest book that I could find on Amazon is Viola in the Spotlight.

8. Neither rhyme nor reason
I went to page 20 (you have a lot of books on your tbr list!) and this one caught my fancy:
In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks.

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg?
I compared our books, and the only book that we both have on our tbr pile is Cotillion by Georgette Heyer. So, I will suggest that for our buddy read if you're up for it!

Sorry for the delay! I hope you find something that you enjoy! If not, I'll be happy to pick again.

1. Mad as a March hare: Book with an original premise, a funky title or set in Canada
Fifty Shades of Grey

2. Non Compos Mentis: Book with a plot that deals with the law, religion or magic
Dark Lover or Breath of Magic

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Book published at least 16 years ago, with an alpha male or with a main character that's over 40.
Sophie's Choice

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Go to your GR recommendations and find a book that you think your pickee would enjoy but that you've never heard about before.
I Capture the Castle or Ghost Story

5. Elite 8: Book with a sports theme (go Eli!) or a best seller/super popular book
Water for Elephants

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: Recommend a book from a genre your pickee wouldn't usually read, a book you thought you wouldn't like that you ended up enjoying or a funny/light read.
Just the Sexiest Man Alive or Black Ice

7. Final 4: Post apocalyptic book, latest book published by one of your pickee's favorite authors, book published on a leap year
The Next Always

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: Go to your pickee's TBR, go to a page at random, and pick the first book that caught your fancy (no thinking!) If by any chance that book is #19 in a series which your pickee hasn't started, pick another page and try again.
Deception

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg?
If you are from Team Chicken {c}, recommend a standalone you think both of you would like to read.

If you are from Team Egg (e), recommend a 1st in a series that you'd both like to read.
The Night Circus or The Gargoyle

Happy reading!

Hi MountainKat! No worries at all. I totally understand. I really love my picks. Thank you! And that cover *gigi fans herself*. I've wanted to read Jaci Burton so, I'm going to pick The Perfect Play. And I'm not picking it just because of the cover....and thats my story and I'm sticking to it... lol

Isn't that cover just yummy! It doesn't hurt that the story is good too! I'm going to read the third book in that series, Taking a Shot (Play by Play, #3) by Jaci Burton , this month - that cover is just as delicious!

Coffeentea | 128 comments Macwolf01 [Elise], here’s your recommendations, I hope you like them. If not let me know and I’ll pick something else for you.

1. Mad as a March hare: On the Edge – there’s the normal world as we know it, there’s the world of magic and wedge in between is this place called the edge. This paranormal romance is about Rose and her two rambunctious brothers’ lives in the edge.

2. Non Compos Mentis: Practice Makes Perfect – I love the banter and the sparks flying off these the two main characters.

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: One for the Money – if you had a long day and need a book that makes you laugh, try this one

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband

5. Elite 8: See Jane Score - it's hockey related :)

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: The Iron Duke

7. Final 4: Nightfall or Catching Fire

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: Show No Mercy

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg? Until There Was You or Master of Crows - this one is fantasy romance and is highly recommended

@Regina
Thank you for your picks.
I will definitely read What Alice Forgot this month.
Also I think my to-read book list for March needs a little bit more spice. So I will try to read: Pride Mates or The Perfect Play. Or both if I have time. :)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments Hello Valerie! Here are your picks!

1. Mad as a March hare: Book with an original premise, a funky title or set in Canada
Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane – I didn’t think I was going to like this series because the plot was very elaborate, but I loved it! I’ve got books 4 and 5 on pre-order, they’ll both be published this year ;)

2. Non Compos Mentis: Book with a plot that deals with the law, religion or magic
Dead Witch Walking - Kim Harrison – Just got the newest one in the mail from my pre-order, this series is very good! It’s humorous but the plot is really compelling too!

3. (Not So) Sweet 16: Book published at least 16 years ago, with an alpha male or with a main character that's over 40.
Wicked Ties by Shayla Black - Jack is as alpha. This one was hard…

4. The lights are on, but nobody's home: Go to your GR recommendations and find a book that you think your pickee would enjoy but that you've never heard about before.
Deadly Fear by Cynthia Eden – Never heard of this one before but the cover looks like it could be good.

5. Elite 8: Book with a sports theme (go Eli!) or a best seller/super popular book
The Help by Kathryn Stockett – It’s a really good book, I sped through this book in about 2 days!

6. Nutty as a fruitcake: Recommend a book from a genre your pickee wouldn't usually read, a book you thought you wouldn't like that you ended up enjoying or a funny/light read.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon – I didn’t see a lot of historical romance in your read list, so I thought I’d recommend this one. It’s a classic.

7. Final 4: Post apocalyptic book, latest book published by one of your pickee's favorite authors, book published on a leap year
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman – Published in 2008, I’m currently reading this one. It’s pretty good, I love his books! American Gods is my all time favorite but they’re all pretty good.

8. Neither rhyme nor reason: Go to your pickee's TBR, go to a page at random, and pick the first book that caught your fancy (no thinking!) If by any chance that book is #19 in a series which your pickee hasn't started, pick another page and try again.
Angels of Darkness by Ilona Andrews – I like the cover ;)

9. Buddy Read...Chicken or Egg?
If you are from Team Chicken {c}, recommend a standalone you think both of you would like to read -
Goddess with a Blade by Lauren Dane - Looks good to me!

Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison Wicked Ties (Wicked Lovers, #1) by Shayla Black Deadly Fear (Deadly, #1) by Cynthia Eden The Help by Kathryn Stockett Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman Angels of Darkness by Ilona Andrews Goddess with a Blade by Lauren Dane
