Good Job!! :D

The plot thickens! Jace is still stranded in the Thropirelem world, when through a series of unfortunate events she finds herself in a different one, even more primitive and magical.
I'd forgotten Jace's smart mouth (not blabbermouth or chatterbox) and how much I enjoy her special brand of humor! Her banter with her lem partner Charlie is especially amusing and so are her comments about the newcomer in the series, Azura.
We get to learn a bit more about her past, while Jace chases bad guys, runs for her life and makes more difficult decisions about her future.
I'm looking forward to reading the next one!

For my Magic pick I will be reading

AH...how do you get them so early?? (Just got notice that my copy of Fair Game is experiencing a few days' delay...)
I'll read

Thanks! I must have missed it.
Judithe - Was just putzing around, avoiding the housework, as usual. Besides all of us on this side of the globe start chanting shelf, shelf, shelf around Friday night.

AH...meant the books...Chasing Magic isn't due to ship for me until April...Fair Game is delayed...sob.
I was online last night, but my oh-so-wonderful sister sent me a little "Why don't you try Pinterest" mail...and spent WAY too much time poking around the net. Now gotta get caught up on GR mail, too. (Read first? Cook? Ha. Surf more? Actually do some housework? Double Ha.)
Mwah. Off to bingo stats...

So, we've got three-in-a-row, and this shelf doesn't make a winner (for us or anyone else).
Teams 2 (needs Angels), 10 (needs 2011) and 12 (needs 2011 OR post-apocalyptic) have four-in-a-row lined up. Fingers crossed for shelves more beneficial to us! LOL!

Don't know about FG...but has been "upgraded" to "Shipping soon" ~ Get it in the box and out the door to me already!!!!!
SM is scheduled for 4/5~7...maybe it'll get bumped up...need some TERRIBLE!!!!

Review:
Charley Davidson is a grim reaper; the grim reaper to be exact. She is the portal or the "light" which dead people can pass through. Charley is also a private investigator and helps her uncle Bob (a detective) solve crimes. Her gift is particularly helpful when solving murders, as she interacts and solves the murders with the help of the dearly departed. In addition, she is also haunted by a supernatural entity who just happens to be extremely hot!
This first novel in the Charley Davidson series contains the perfect combination of humor, wittiness, suspense, and mystery. There is also romantic tension between our heroin and numerous possibilities, though only enough to wet the palette.
This book was a pleasant read and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for such a "quirky" main character.

A Witch in Time (A Bewitching Mystery, #6)
by Madelyn Alt - ★★★✩✩ (03/15/2012)
This is the 6th book in the series, and while it was not one of my favorites, it was a great vacation read for me. Maggie O’Neil, Stoneybrooks newest witch is as usual up to her eyes in trouble of the paranormal (and not so paranormal) kind. This book was a bit different in that it seemed to deal with a bit less mystery than usual, but I enjoyed following Maggie and her developing romance with the sexy Marcus. While this isn’t a big thinker of a book, it was a pleasant and quick read, and I will read # 7 in the series when I get my hands on it!

Good Job!! :D

I am really enjoying Thea Harrison's Elder Race series. This book picks up right after the events of Serpent's Kiss. Khalil the Djinn has been hanging around Grace ever since he brought Carling and Rune to her. Khalil is very old and powerful and he is extremely fascinated by Grace. As a bonus, he is great with her niece and nephew, too. Grace is coming into her powers as an Oracle. She is struggling to make ends meet and has very little resources available.
I liked Khalil's back story. It was very interesting to learn about the djinn, their powers, and their hierarchy. Khalil was quite funny when he decided to date Grace. Grace's connection to Khalil was also very special. Ms. Harrison writes very steamy djinn sex. It's not as good as the dragon sex in Dragon Bound, but it comes close.

Lie to me baby, I like it, not.
This is the tale of Gideon, keeper of Lies, and Scarlet, keeper of Nightmares. Both of them have a "truth" problem, though Gideon's is more obvious than Scarlet's. From the previous book, we (the reading audience) knew this pair was meant to be, in some way/shape/form, but the fun is in seeing how they get there. Scarlet's smellie-rellies throw lots of confusion in the works, but in the end...well, ya know.
This was a fun, light read and I'm looking forward to the next one...getting closer to the character I most want to read about!

Finished "Hex Hall" my magic read. On the way to the movies with the family, then dinner. Will post my review tonight.
I am leaving for our anniversary vacation tomorrow afternoon for 2 weeks. Yee haw! Will still complete my reviews etc. no matter what!

Moon Called (Mercy Thompson #1)
byPatricia Briggs
★★★★✩ (03/21/2012)
This is the first of Patricia Briggs “Mercy Thompson” series. This one had been on my “TBR and I already own it” for well over a year, but just kept getting pushed aside for one reason or another. (It has actually traveled on several vacations with me, to no avail!) Well I am glad that it finally made it to the top of the list! I enjoyed it immensely!
Mercy is the only known “walker”, a part human who can change form at will to a Coyote. Raised by werewolves, Mercy has an interesting past, and lives her life with one foot in the “human” world, the other in the supernatural. She is a likable heroine, who has spunk, smarts and courage, without becoming to perfect. The point of view that she brings, being not 100% part of any one group was refreshing to me, giving a new spin on what can at times be an old subject.
I really enjoyed Ms. Briggs writing- I will admit that since starting this book I read a review on her Alpha and Omega series whit I previously had not really planned on reading, and have already decided that they all need to join my TBR mountain… preferably towards the top! Will be moving on within this series immediately if not sooner!

Review:
I really enjoyed this first installment of the "Hex Hall" series. What a great surprise!
The author provided great characters, an amazing storyline, a cool but creepy environment and blended it all together to make a great and enjoyable read.
We are introduced to the main character, Sophie, who has been raised by her mother and unfortunately has no idea what she's doing when it comes to being a witch. After numerous "issues" with magic, she creates a love spell which lands her into Hex Hall.
Without giving too much away; the novel follows Sophie and other "mystical" creatures such as werewolves, fairies, shapeshifters and her best friend a vampire. The purpose of Hex Hall is to offer the guidance and education which seems to have been lacking in its students prior to their arrival.
We follow the trials and tribulations as Sophie comes into her own, and eventually fights the good fight and learns more about her heritage.
This book kept me engaged, invested and wanting more. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I'm hoping book 2 is just as enjoyable!
