Eddie Stack | 3 comments I'm an author seeking reviewers/bloggers for Borderlines, a set of 3 long stories set in rural Ireland. These stories take the reader on a journey through an Ireland that tourists rarely see — a behind the scenes peek at the Irish at home.

In 'Carnival Cop', a lady constable gets over-zealous when a raggle taggle carnival comes to a small Irish town. Will she or won't she? Is she or isn't she? All will be revealed.

'Bonzo' is a local mystery man who everyone loves, but few know anything about. He looks a cross between Woody Allen and Harry Potter, though plumper and taller than Woody.

'One for the Rover' is a tale of free spirits. Irish music in the slow lane, with gurus from the a East and lovers from the West.

copies available for Kindle, iBook or epub format.

thanks,

My Funny Africa is a work in progress. While I have two other published (fiction) titles, Veiled Madness and Checkmate, this is my first non-fiction work and by far the most difficult. It is a collection of authentic bushwhacker anecdotes. What makes it so difficult is encouraging those who've had such experiences to send in their individual experiences - this has already taken a year - and then to edit those selected. It's quite a mamoth task but enjoyable nonetheless. I hope to have it published around April/May 2014.

It's a universal story about one sheep's search for a home which speaks to both adults and children alike:

Sherri Moorer (sherrithewriter) I'm an independent author, program assistant working in professional licensing, wife, daughter, bird mom, sci-fi/fantasy/mystery fan, obsessed with superheros, and convinced I could force lift a ship out of a swamp without a problem. I'm a genre jumping author of 9 books in sci-fi, mystery, and non-fiction. I though about dabbling in children's fiction, but decided against it after my last book gave beta readers nightmares. N. Onym | 3 comments The Harlot Goddess by N. Onym
N. Onym

"She visited and took from the dead, took from the deceased that weep for their mothers, took from those that weep for fear of the endless dark. She took from children crying in silence at the airless black of burial that presses in with insects. She took from young that weep at the creeping rainfall of grave’s Earth. She took from children lamenting in quiet hysteria, children crying quietly at the sepulchral solitude of death and decay. She took from children’s lamentations, as a child’s tears in death are quite conducive to Lilith’s wicked intents. It pleased her to torment the tormented dead. She took from graves, and made alchemies of those attars. Such became the black flowers of her daughters’ hearts."

James Loftus Yes, I am an author. My historical fiction novel, is inspired by MacBeth and the incredible early history of clan MacKay, known, originally, as the MacAedhs.

Celtic Blood

All who dare come ye hither into the dark woods where danger lies. The theme of dangers lurking in the green forest is ancestral, species long, it scares us and fascinates, us, both. Come with me and enter the woods.

A boy once his father is murdered seeks escape amongst the wilds riding deeper and deeper into the green. He is the son of a noble Earl, the great-grandson of a king, and marked for death. He is the last of his line. Alone in the trees bar for one friend who has forsaken him not.

A forest has haunting power. You need God's power and protection in the shadows. And, in the deep dark mysterious forest-shadows nothing ... nothing ... protects ... you.

Sherri Moorer (sherrithewriter) Most writers start their bio with an explanation of who they are and why they write. I’ll make this simple. My name is Sherri Fulmer Moorer. I write because I’ve always loved to do it, and ebooks gave me an opportunity to share those stories with readers that I just couldn’t pass up. Plain and simple, I’m an opportunist. When the ebook revolution hit, I dove in because I wanted to be involved on the front end of this new wave. Who doesn’t want to be part of a revolution?

I write in a variety of genres because I can’t be pigeon holed into one area, and I’m many other things in addition to being an author. I work full time in professional licensing, which is great for keeping me in touch with people and reality and, in turn, inspires to write more. I’m married with two parrots that keep our hearts, home, and lives filled with joy and silliness that most people find strange. I’m a social media rambler, church volunteer and borderline introvert/extrovert who’s kindred spirit, according to online quizzes, is Scooter from The Muppets.

Katie Beitz (KatieBeitz) | 6 comments Hi, I have just published my first novel THE SHADOW MINER.

I wanted to write an adventure fantasy with some strong female characters for all the girls out there who enjoy reading fantasy. I also decided to set my novel in a setting that drew upon the landscape of Australia. I have always noticed that fantasy novels often have a very European or American setting and thought it would be interesting trying to write something that was a little different. Would love people to check out my novel on Amazon. Honest reviews and feedback appreciated.

A man’s form he bears, but the abilities he possesses are beyond those of mortals. He is their worst nightmare come alive before them. No blade can stop him, no blow can halt his advance. He is Death incarnate.

Shunned and feared, hated and despised, he walks the world alone, desolate. Despite his awesome strength, he is helpless to do anything but obey the one who holds his very mind in an iron fist.

What hope of redemption could a being such as him have? What could possibly heal a battered and scarred soul whipped by the cruelty of others? How can anything quench the consuming fire of Darkness within? How could anyone love or accept…The Dark Wolf.

Mila Rossi (milarossi) | 3 comments Hi all,

I'm a brand-spanking new author, just recently published. I figured taking on one story wasn't enough, so I published four contemporary romance novellas at once. FAST TIMES, UNDER CONSTRUCTION, LOST & FOUND, and YOUR ONE AND ONLY CHANCE are now available as e-books on Amazon and listed on Goodreads. I'm so excited to finally have something out, I feel like I need a break, but am too wired to stop.

My books are quick, fun, sassy reads that also happen to sometimes deal with controversial issues. I don't know how that happened. They just wrote themselves, I guess.

Would love to hear what you all think about them.

Thanks,

Mila Rossi

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 460 comments Hey Everyone,
I have written two books of poetry, one is a book of poetry within different genres and the other is a book of horror poetry. If your a fan of poetry then perhaps you'll like one or both of my books. Here is a sample poem from each book.

Like A Box Of Chocolates

40 unique poems within different genres

Satanic Whispers

Sitting around in silence a soft sound is spoken
The air becomes cold, the ice has been broken
Faintly heard are yells, gentle screams and pleas
Like a ringing in the ears that just won’t appease
There is sadness in their tone but yet also demonic
While reality is still the other side is catastrophic
The reason they are heard is because everyday is torture
The reason they burn is because everyday is a scorcher
When you sleep at night and hear voices that’s them
Softly spoken yet scraggily hoarse with spit and flem
If the voices don’t drive you mad the nightmares will
Yet as much as you wanna wake up you remain still
The essence of their words are like straps to the bed
To make you so insane your wishing you were dead
Dead like them making the same tearful whimpers
Just another victim making satanic whispers

The Macabre Masterpiece: Poems of Horror and Gore

50 poems, 5 chapters, each scary and spine chilling

The Portrait of Dorian Gray

Here we see a well-mannered handsome man
Who to keep his good looks will do whatever he can
So he agrees for an artist to paint his portrait
Where he shall remain as is but the picture morbid
From then on in his beauty will not fade
His appearance in reality a hidden masquerade
Soon he commits to debauchery and sin
Thinking that against time he will always win
He shuns away his love with arrogance and rejection
As she poisons herself he makes lust his selection
He looks over his portrait which is now grotesque
Mad with rage he stabs the artist to death
He blames him for all his hideous acts
But his soul blackened no longer in tact
He then takes the knife and stabs his painting
To get away from his life he tries escaping
His servants hear a scream and to the room they swarm
they find an aged, withered, horrid man
Beside him the portrait back to it’s original form

Yashodhara | 6 comments Hello!

I'm have two books published with HarperCollins - the first was released in 2012 - it's called 'Just Married Please Excuse' and is a funny, autobiographical book. Just Married, Please Excuse by Yashodhara Lal

The second, released earlier this year is 'Sorting Out Sid' and it's a work of fiction, about a man going through a divorce and other forms of mid life crisis. Sorting Out Sid by Yashodhara Lal

I would really love to hear opinions on whether this sort of book has international appeal; The sample chapters of both books are available on Amazon here:

Just Married Please Excuse: http://amzn.to/1jkwu2Q
Sorting out Sid: http://amzn.to/1mUnKma

Alternatively, I've got some sample chapters/book trailer up on my blog here:

Just Married, Please Excuse: http://www.yashodharalal.com/p/the-bo...
Sorting Out Sid: http://www.yashodharalal.com/p/the-ne...

It would mean a whole lot to me to get your feedback as I would really like to know if I should work harder at making the e-books more visible internationally. Please let me know at yashodhara.lal@gmail.com in case you do get to read. Many, many thanks in advance :)

Josh Mitchell (wickid_pissa) | 15 comments What's up, paper cup? I'm Josh from Boston.

My new novel "The Dude Who Did Dictionaries" is now available on Amazon via Kindle Direct as a KDP Selection - www.amazon.com/dp/B00M0DUI8Y

Frank Flutie is a lexicographer who has waged war on the "perils of adultolescence" by leaving a high-paying job as a copywriter for an advertising company called The Banker and taking a low-paying job in a bookstore instead, ostensibly so he can write the first ever all sexual dictionary.

The "war" (and his dictionary), however, aren't going particularly well and, under the stress of his "self-imposed exile" from affluence, Frank has become petty and fatalistic -- "a shit hoarder whose dictionary would be better utilized as a flyswatter, a doorstop, or a paperweight".

T.A. Sorensen | 3 comments Hello Everyone!

I am very happy to announce that I have published my first book, called Where's My Purse? and available through Amazon.com & KDP.

The book is a recounting of the journey through Alzheimer’s with my mother and best friend, JoAnn. Albeit this disease is heartbreaking, I approached the circumstances from a positive angle - celebrating what was right with Mom’s world, instead of what wasn’t.

Diagnosis: Alzheimer’s disease. Now what?

Each and every day millions of individuals are facing this exact situation and have no idea what to do. Their easiest course of action is to scour the Internet in search of information, when all they really want is to hear from someone who’s actually been through it. I understand - I’ve been there. Despite my best efforts to deal with everything I made plenty of mistakes, the largest of which, was feeling sorry for myself. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s; it wasn’t about me. I decided to approach the situation from a very different perspective, and because of that newfound positivity, I was better equipped to handle everything.

Join me while I walk you through my very private journey with JoAnn, my mother and best friend. I’m hopeful that by offering you the truth about my experiences, as well as suggestions on how to exercise humor and grace, it may help you to better cope with your loved one’s behavioral changes.

Where's My Purse?

Steve Baldwin | 9 comments Hi, I'm Steve, and I am an author inspired by mountains and snow. I have just released a book called "Snow Tales and Powder Trails"
Snow Tales and Powder Trails: Adventures on Skis

Here is a short description:

"Snow Tales and Powder Trails" is a collection of short stories and photographs, telling of a lifetime journey through snowy lands and mountains, using skis as a mode of transport and artistic medium.

The experiences of the author come to life on the page, mirrored by images of stunning snow-covered peaks and landscapes. Using vast untracked snowfields as a blank canvas, the author draws line after line with his skis, etching his signature temporarily into the earth's surface, only for the next snowstorm to come in and cover any trace of human existence.

The book explores some of the different aspects of skiing, mostly in deep fresh powder, and illustrates the adventures and elation that the mountains in winter can offer.

Elizabeth Garrison | 7 comments I just released my book, Wounds of the Father: A True Story of Child Abuse, Betrayal, and Redemption.

Here's the book description:

In the bestselling tradition of Smashed and Glass Castle, this raw, eye-opening memoir tells the powerful story of Elizabeth Garrison’s fractured childhood, descent into teenage drug addiction, and struggle to overcome nearly insurmountable odds. Elizabeth invites the reader behind the closed doors of a picture-perfect Christian family to reveal a dark, hidden world of child abuse, domestic violence, and chilling family secrets all performed in the name of God under the tyrannical rule of her father. Like countless teenage girls, Elizabeth turns to drugs and alcohol to escape. With smack-you-in-the-face honesty, Elizabeth chronicles the dark realities and real-life horrors of teenage drug abuse, living on the streets, foster homes, and treatment centers. She paints an unsparing portrait of scratching and clawing her way out of the grips of child abuse, addiction, and betrayal to find the strength within herself to save her own life.
