Hi All, I was interviewed by Pam Richards about superstition and witchcraft in Nigeria, one of the themes from my memoir The Tribe of One.- I hope you all find this interesting. Here is a link to my blog which has excerpts from my book http://olarhodes.wordpress.com/2012/1...

The first "The Inventors Game" is at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088DJ8DQ

The sequel "The Dogs of Devonshire" is also on Amazon.

You can read the previews on Amazon. Hope you enjoy my take on Holmes.

I'm an author too--more small town sweet contemporaries. I have a new book coming out next month to Entangled Publishing which is exciting.
For some reason this post isn't allowing me to add my books here, so you'll just have to take my word for it. LOL!

If you're have a cozy mystery, I'm willing to review it on my blog in the hopes that karma would return the favor for me later.

Sound good , but I didn't write a cozy I don't think.
(see my story in link a few a boxes above)

A cozy could also be considered a traditional mystery without all the gore or hard boil details. Sherlock Holmes is consider a traditional mystery. I'll be willing to review your short story on my blog and goodread if you are interested. I don't mind dead bodies. I just don't want to know in minute by minute detail of what it looks like.

Thanks. It's only 99c on Amazon. Do you want to read it there (so you can post online) or for me to send a copy in Kindle format and cover for your site?
The first story doesn't have gore

Went to your website. Nice. But I didn't see how to leave a word doc attachment in Kindle Format (my story)
Thanks.

Yeah, that would help huh. Why don't you email it to me:

Let me know what u think about it!

I am A.K. Hill, author of A Mediocre Man. I have quite an eclectic taste in books, both reading and writing them. Anything from modern fiction short stories through to epic fantasy novels.
I have been lucky enough recently to get some time away from the hustle and bustle of the world to concentrate on my writing. Turning the scraps of stories I have scribbled down over the years into something more substantial.
I have recently self published my first book, a modern fiction novella charting the death of an ordinary man, set against the backdrop of a world obsessed with gossip and rumour.
So far it has received positive reviews, but I do need to make some grammatical amendments that have sadly been missed. In the meantime I am working hard on my next two novellas, one a sci-fi story in a near future setting; the other a fantasy story that forms part of a mythological world that has been growing in my head since I was a boy.
Thanks for reading.

I had to remember that "A Mediocre Man" title is fine since "Ordinary People" was a hit

I am the author of a new children's book, PINK IS JUST A COLOR AND SO IS BLUE. Sweet, funny bookwith beautiful illustrations teaches kids to look beyond the pink and blues, and what toys are for who and to have fun exploring and learning about their world. Open minded, tolerant and self confident kids are less likely to bully and tease. Let's teach them early!!
It's available exclusively on Amazon. Also see my blog on the book to get insight into why I wrote it.
Pink is Just a Color and so is Blue

It's free until the end of November, and will be 99 cents after that. Note: It's a really dark, dystopian story. So it's not for younger audiences, or the squeamish.
Here's a brief synopsis of Whores.
In the near future, women’s rights are eroding, and those who buck the system are hunted as gender criminals by the authorities and rogue militias. This harrowing dystopia is seen through the eyes of a woman cast into a resistance group by circumstance, and a newly minted gender crimes detective tasked with bringing them to justice, as he grapples with whether or not that word still has meaning.

sounds interesting, I'll have a look

Today and tomorrow, my romantic mystery SET UP is free on Amazon:

Set Up

I have recently published my debut novel, Dark Light, through Amazon KDP. It is a New Adult Paranormal Romance novel oozing lots of love, sex, and magic. Tortured, frustrating heroine- check. Dark, sexy hero- check. Love triangle with 'good guy'- check. But it's more than that, plus totally relatable and entertaining.
Dark Light is the first installment of The Dark Light Series and so far it has done pretty well, considering I am an unknown writer. Book 2 is due for release Spring 2013.
I'd love to connect with authors who write similar genre titles or just really awesome folks who are always good for a laugh and/or inspiration!

Hi Ola, you asked if I had a blog. Just got an email about blogging and want to learn and create one that drives traffic to it and not just put anything up.
A revised version of "The Inventors Game" (see link in other posting below) will be on Amazon tomorrow.
Will you take a look?

Female body mutilation and other practices have been in the news. I had questions about it, but can't fill up the board here with my questions as it isn't related to blogging.

Amazon Synopsis:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lady-Chains-O...
“Remember; you have seventy-two hours to do the deed and not a moment longer. Cut her throat and remove her heart. That, my girl, is the only way to destroy the wretched creature.”
Greylock. A city supported by a network of scaffolding, bleeding rust and wheezing steam. Patrolled by an army of ‘metal men’—creatures who’re designed for nothing more than to kill and destroy. Nothing grows. Nothing truly lives.
The tower stands like an ice-pick, pushing through a snarl of thorns, resting upon the outskirts of Greylock. Its shadow is cast across the city like an elongated clock-hand, chipping away the hours, the days. The years. It is home to the Lady of Chains, a woman incarcerated without a sentence. A woman who almost single-handedly destroyed the world . . .
Viola, a young orphan girl, has been thrust into this nightmarish world by the devious Mrs Casket, caretaker of the tower and maid to the mysterious lady. She’s been given a task which could either see her demise or be her salvation.
But who is the Lady of Chains? And why does she insist that she is connected to Viola? With the clock ticking and the metal men drawing near, Viola is about to learn that not everything is what it seems . . .
A spellbinding fantasy with elements of steampunk.

Hi Dimetrius, my book doesn't cover female mutilation, that is something I know nothing about and I'm writing about a completely different theme.
Feel free to friend me on facebook or send me a message if you feel there are any other questions or info that I can help you answer

If there is an international organization people can write to and protest child abuse and such , maybe it wouldn't hurt for you to post it here?
What is the "yep sure" referring to?

The book has received 15 reviews so far with mostly 4-5stars. Gift your loved ones this Free Ebook on 23rd Nov, 2012- Friday.

I'm giving my novel 'Everything is Free' away free for one day (today) as an alternative Christmas present, as it's an alternative kind of Christmas novel. It's full of dark humour, so I hope you enjoy it if you get fed up with the usual festive sentimentality. It's a free Kindle download until late tonight (when it will revert to full cover price), and you can get it even if you don't have a Kindle by downloading the free Kindle reading app from Amazon. It's available worldwide on Amazon sites, so look for Adele Ward Everything is Free and you should find it. If you write a review or blog about it, let me know and I'll promote it here, and on the publisher website. Hope you enjoy it! It's available for UK readers on http://www.amazon.co.uk/Everything-Is... and for US readers on http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Is-F... and also on other Amazon sites worldwide. You do need to use your regional Amazon site to get Kindle ebooks.

No I'm not familiar with western romance, but I will say that those book covers will have people drooling and daydreaming.

Right now, though, I'm most interested in telling people about my second novel, Wander Home -- because the paperback just became available on barnesandnoble.com and on Amazon :-). On barnesandnoble.com, what's more, it's marked down to $7.01 (from $10.99). Here's the link: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/wande...
And here's a blog post I did about which readers might particularly enjoy receiving and reading this book:

Is control over the elements a gift, or a curse?
Roxy thinks that she is in control of everything: with flames flaring at her fingertips and an equally fiery attitude, what more could she need? But then she meets Brae, a prince from a rival Realm, who turns her assumptions of superiority upside down.
Jasmine has none of Roxy’s confidence or intensity. But she does have a secret - and Brae - and she’s not going to give either up willingly.

Hail and well thee met!
I am an indie author invited over to the group by my friend Alex. I published my first book through Amazon in November. The Dreamweaver's Journey
This is the first story in a planned series: Tales from Feyron - The Ripples of Power. The series will contain sets of books based on the historical ages of the Realm of Feyron.
The genre is fantasy. The intended audience is young teen, as the story was specifically written for my daughter and her friends, although several of my beta readers are adults who did enjoy the tale.
The book is available for Kindle and paperback (through Create Space) on the Amazon family of companies. It is listed with Kindle Select and available through the lending library as well.
Thank you for looking :)
