Yes, I think part of it has to do with the pressure of perception, but I think it's also psychological, I mean most people usually know when to stop or how to feel content with their body how it is, losing a ibt of weight is common and natural, but there are two extremes, anorexic and morbidly obese.
Some of you might be familiar with the term FA,for those who don't, it stands for Fat Admirer. There's a sizeable (no pun intended!) FA community on the web and in countries in America and Europe. In Asia, fat people have been traditionally associated with prosperity, since in those days the people who could afford to be fat, were those who had the money to purchase more food items.
Songs such as above, from British- Lebanese singer Mika, advocates size acceptance, what do you all think?
I have fat friends. I really don't care, I think it's their loss that they let themselves become unhealthy. But hey. people can change.
I know this is weird.. But I've been teased for being TOO thin.
I look liek a stick, with some little curves. Tiny ones.
I'm teased for too thin, lol. I don't see how this could work though. I mean, I eat... CONSTANTLY!

It's okay EJ I can eat whatever I want and not gain a pound to save my life... Over Christmas break I ate half a dozen of Krispie Kreme doughnuts before we got home...we only live 10 minutes away.

I am in the same boat.

It does, i admit, I would love to lose a few kilos, and give them to one of my friends, ok I know that sounds offensive, but have a listen, she's about 5 foot 7, and you know how you wrap your hand around someones wrist and touch your middle finger and thumb together? well I can do that to just below her shoulder, HER FREAKING SHOULDER, usually it doesn't work after about an inch or 2 up the arm from the wrist, but she is super skinny, and eats a tonne, and eats all the time.... and is still super skinny...

hahahaha... *sighs*
i know this sounds selfish, but I'd give $10 if I could just have people stop calling me a "super model". (I know, I'm cheap.) First of all, supermodels are creepy. THey lok to thin and never smile. Second of all, MOST supermodels are AIRHEADS.
3rd of all... Im doen ranting.

wow....

You're right Heidi, of course, but we all know society doesn't look at it that way; it has acceptable, and unacceptable so-called 'standards of conventional beauty', since when did subjective become suppression, and choice mutated into coercion? The tyranny of the like-minded majority is the basis of discrimination, which underpins all the divisions that both make our cultural civilizations so wonderfully diverse, and so prone to explosive disagreement, marginalization and anger born of fear.

I don't know enough about Queen Latifah...
I lost six pounds in about a week. Hehe, me so happy. ^-^
"I like Big Butts and I cannot lie..." Lol, this just came to mind.
Although I won't lie, I like tiny people... mainly because I can pick them up and spin them around like my friends, lol.

It's personality that counts the most though. You can be a skinny bitch, but I shall choose the larger kind person any day.

No.. Just gonna ask something for you guys. Erk, i really don't swear alot. But then again, Im a teen. Im not supposed to. But anyway.. Could you keep the language down a little?? Thanks. :D
How should they be treated? Are these 'fatties' a strain on society and a danger to themselves? Does obese mean unhealthy? Are 'normal' people paying the price for their lack of self-control or inclination to indulge? And why the judgemental looks? Is it better to have no curves than voluptuous ones?
And what if you feel fat, even though you aren't? Yes, success demands sacrifice, but does it mean you have to undergo excruciating self-deprivation to fit in? What kind of a mind do anorexics and bulimic live in?
