Switching to a once-per-month update...Updated Post 186 - 26/100.
(edited: okay, maybe a once-per-week update...)
Thresea, don't feel you have to link to your post, if you don't want to. ☺ However, here is the info of how to do it, and what you can copy for your message #253 under
Example
below. How to Hyperlink to a Specific Post
Do you want add a hyperlink from your ~ Reading Goals ~ Folder to your post in a challenge? (This folder may have a different name, depending on which group you post in.) Here’s how:
1. Once you set up your folder, click on the “some html is ok” look-up at the top of the comment box and follow the Link directions.
2. You want to copy the following from the look-up
<a href="http://www.goodreads.com">my link text</a>3. Replace the section of html code (in-between the two quotation marks - made bold in the example above above) with the post's link.
4. You can copy that by placing your cursor on the "post's time stamp" (for lack of a better term) located in the beige bar to the far right.
5. On the drop down menu, use your right-mouse-click button on “Copy shortcut” and copy link location.
6. Next, change the “my link text” to what you want (such as the name of the challenge).
<a href=" http://www.goodreads.com"> my link text </a>
Example:
<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7... Message #253

Theresa, another little trick I use is that, for all subsequent updates after the first in a given discussion, you can go to one you already posted, click the "edit" link, copy the text (and then "cancel" the edit), go to the new message box, paste the text, and just manually change your count. A lot easier than having to go through the multiple steps each time.
Yes, that is what I do too, Lavinia! So, Theresa, if you don't want to try to understand all the html talk in my instructions, just copy the code I did for you under
Example
, then do as Lavinia suggests. ☺

thanks. I am a little jet-lagged...but not overly -so...was just on holiday last week...and was able to get some reading in!
Book #10, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. RowlingBook #11, The Soldier's Wife by Margaret Leroy
My Complete List
not that amazing...a lot of them were the free kindle books...some were really short and some were really dumb. I spend most of my time laying in bed unable to move my legs due to back problems, so my outlet is reading to get my mind off the pain. The largest book I have finished in 6 hours was 790 pages...so when I get these free books that are so short (under 100 pages) I read 6 or 7 a day.
790 pages in 6 hours?!?!?!?!? I can't read that much in a day...even on a day off form work! I always fall asleep...with the book on my lap!
When the kids are in school I can focus on a book and forget about anything, but only if it is a good book. I have problems sleeping, expecially if I haven't finished a book, I could never fall asleep without reading the whole thing...OCD. Now if I only had OCD oriented towards keeping the dishes done! LOL
lol...I need to finish books too...but my eyes get tired...and I droop! I have a problem if I'm reading a thriller or mystery....thenI stay up all night(if I don't have to work) to finish it! just because I want to find out what happens! lol
