Happy New Year to everyone!
Welcome Rebecca! I had to smile when I saw your avatar - I have the NCIS marathon on right now :) Ihope you'll share some of your favorite mysteries with us, maybe we'll find some new ones.

NCIS is my favorite thing next to reading!!!

Welcome to the group Monica! We're happy to help you find new authors and series. I hope you'll share some of your favorites with us.

I think I was still searching for that one genre I'd really love and I noticed mysteries were already in my corner, but with the Cozy ones, that just hits is! I also love to ready biographies, true event based books (like on world war 2) and history books.
I've been reading ever since I was a little girl and books were the greatest gift one could give. At one point the reading got pushed to a place in the back of my life due to various reasons, but now I'm picking it up again! I just love to read.
Welcome to the group, Nicole! I hope you'll find some new favorite cozies here. I love your avatar - Semm is beautiful!

Hi Carol, welcome to the group! I hope you'll find some great cozies and friends here. Are you enjoying the cold weather? ☺

Hi Ginny Sue and Susan! Welcome to the group! Hopefully we'll all be able to share new books with each other. That's funny how Ginny Sue left CA for a cold winter place, and Susan left a cold winter place for CA :)

Grew up on Agatha Christie and moved on to authors like...
Carolyn Hart
M.C. Beaton
Lorna Barrett
I love cozies but I'm not a big fan of themed cozy mysteries (cats, dogs, tea, baking etc. etc.) - looking for some recommendations.
I like great characters (Lorna Barrett, M.C. Beaton) and I like a puzzle to figure out (Agatha Christie).
Anyway - hello and looking forward to talking with everyone about books.

I have recently become a big fan of Amish mysteries from authors Amanda Flower, Vanetta Chapman and Shelley Shepard Gray.
I also am a big fan of Carolyn Hart and some other authors whose books are set in the south.
I am interested in finding some good British cozy authors. I look forward to seeing the recommendations of fellow cozy mystery lovers.

Hi Jim - I can recommend MC Beaton for good British cozy reading. I really like the Hamish Macbeth series. I'm currently reading her Agatha Raisin series, and love it too!

Welcome Scott! I hope we can help you find some great characters.
Have you read Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series? She may be young (preteen), but she's not your typical kid, she's quite a character.
I think Earlene Fowler's Benni Harper series is more character driven than themed.
And there's the Mrs. Pollifax series, by Dorothy Gilman.

Hi Jim, welcome to the group! Sorry, I can't help you with British cozies, but I know there are people here, like Susan, who will be glad to make suggestions.

Can't wait to make new friends and discover new mysteries! :)
Welcome Brittany! I think we can help with finding new friends and authors :) It's not too late to join in reading this month's books and discussion.

Hi Christine, welcome to the group! I loved Sweet Revenge! I hope you'll join us in our monthly reads, and find some great new books.

Hi Lynda, welcome to the group! There are so many wonderful cozy series to discover, I don't think you'll have a problem finding some favorites. How is your access to books there? I know some Australians have trouble finding certain books, or the cost is crazy.

Welcome Lynda - which island? I'm down in Melbourne. :)

Lynda and Jennifer I love reading cozies that are set in different areas and give the reader a feel for that location. I am currently reading and enjoying British author M.C. Beaton at the suggestion of people on this site. Do you have any suggestions for Aussie cozies.

Kerry Greenwood. She writes two series set in Melbourne; one modern day and one that takes place in 1928-29. I love the second one, and I know quite a few that are fans of the first one. Both very well researched and describe Melbourne well.
Welcome to the group Norma! I see you're concentrating on female authors - there are so many wonderful ones out there in every genre. Good luck on your quest!!
