although now that i think about it, i'm not sure any of those folks have the same book interests that you do, Kevin. at least from what i know of your book tastes. well maybe a few: Seak, Mike, Simon, Francine, and Megan.

oh, and Stefan the moderator from Beyond Reality also writes some really excellent, in-depth, often critical reviews.
i must have reviewers on the mind because i just thought of another one who has written some excellent, insightful reviews of fantasy. just read his (or her?) reviews of Cloud's End & The Hobbit. good stuff!Dulac3 http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/12...

good idea in this group!
Thanks for the reviewer recs! I love to dig through stuff and am always happy when I find a new great reviewer. :-DI should be a great reviewer...as much as I read...but I usually am ready to move on to the next book!
my pleasure! my recent favorite find is that last one, Dulac3. been slowly going through his reviews. they are almost all modern fantasy & scifi. with a good smattering of classics.
i like mine with mayo. i learned that in Holland. plus it's so good for you that way, great for the arteries.
but did you start to like it afterwards? i was repelled, then i just had to try it once, and now that's all i use. folks look at me with disgust when this happens.
Gravy on fries is good, it's a Canada thing. Normally I just stick with ketchup though. Or Wendy's Frosty.
Yikes! The fries with frosty's thing never made sense to me. No bueno. I've never tried gravy though. Sounds pretty good.
I don't like to eat all of my fries with Frosty... But a couple dipped in there is yummy. And oh, since we're at Wendy's, they are good dipped in the chili too.Mmmmm, chili fries.
Mmmmm, chili cheese fries!
I need fries.

hmm...I like my fries with chili and mayo. What about ice cream, anybody ever tried "funny" tasted ice cream? blackpepper, cheese, vinegar, lemon, wildberry, guava, yoghurt...
so refreshing...
*OOT to the max*
What the hell.
Am I the only one who just likes fries with regular old ketchup?

NickiHave to agree fat chips with salt and vinegar. When I worked in NZ the hospital canteen would only serve them with mayo, had to ask one of the guys to find some vinegar. Took them up to the coffee room in the theatres and then spent ten minutes beating back the expats while I ate my dinner.
I like ketchup Ala-come sit by me....lolas for Ice Cream, I really love Green Tea ice cream, like they serve at Japanese restaurants. I dont think I could eat it all the time though...
Never had green tea ice cream. Wouldn't mind giving it a go though
We do fry sauce in Utah. Invented it actually. Most of the fast food restaurants here have it packaged along with ketchup and mustard. Arctic Circle has the best kind.
Fry sauce?
And what's arctic circle?
And what's arctic circle?
Mayo is gross. Can't stand it.
I don't eat ketchup. I don't hate it, per se. But in every case where something calls for it as an option, I can think of a better one.If I get a burger that already has it on there, I'll eat it. But I rarely ever put any on anything voluntarily.
And I'll eat fries plain before dipping them in ketchup. I do love me some chili fries.
But, well, ketchup is a staple....actually for some reason I use french dressing instead of ketchup sometimes...just a bit sweeter

It tastes about as good as staples too.
I like mixing ketchup and mayo together for my fries - especially for Chik-fil-A's waffle fries.I'll also put mayo and ketchup on burgers sometimes.
This is, apparently, basically Russian dressing without the relish.
Random movie updates I just saw that might interest some people:Benedict Cumberbatch in “Star Trek”
JJ Abrams continues his trend of making BBC fans very happy and planting dreams of epic crossovers in our heads. Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as the villain of the upcoming “Star Trek” sequel. Though rumors say the villain of this film will be Khan, Paramount has refused to comment.
(For those who don't know, Benedict Cumberbatch plays the title character in BBC's 'Sherlock'.)
Lily Collins cast in “Evil Dead.”
Lilly Collins is the first person to be cast in the upcoming “Evil Dead” remake. She has been cast as Mia, a female version of Bruce Campbell’s Ash. I don’t get it either. That’s not the only change either. Mia is a drug addict trying to detox, so when she tells her friends about being attacked by trees, they think she’s hallucinating.
(I don't know much about Lilly Collins - this one interested me more because it was the first time I heard they were making an 'Evil Dead' remake... if you can even call it a remake while, apparently, changing quite a bit.)
WTF kind of name is Benedict Cumberbatch?
they have it here in sf, it's getting more & more popular. second only to salted caramel. i love them both.
