I blame Laurl. Damn Canadians hogging all the winter.

Perhaps we will just have a late winter. You know, Skiing for the July 4th holiday.

There's a bit of novelty in that.

Meanwhile, in Australia.

If I were well off financially, I would be taking December/January holidays there.

Me too. My sister is backpacking there right now, for 9 months. She left in september and she'll be back in may. She said they have Christmas Poolparties. I can't imagine swimming outside with a christmastree next to the pool.

That's awesome. She's very lucky to be able to do that. The closest I got to a warm December/January was a month long backpacking trip in Central America, but that was ages ago. Now I'm lucky to take a long weekend to the coast.

Yep, that's it....not all that far from where my son is... :)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments Oh man, I feel sorry for your son!

The videos I've seen lately are horrible...people can barely see their houses.

message 1661: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) He's not caught up in it, (he's in Homer) but yeah, they called out the national guard and all the emergency services to help those in trouble.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2719 comments It's going up to the 60s here today - but we had some flooding over night from all the rain. (Not me, personally, I mean the area.)

I don't mind... I'd rather it have been rain than snow!

It's supposed to be in the 40s and 30s for the weekend, tho. :(

Well, all the extra people should also help warm up the area, too.

It's supposed to hit the low 60's high 50's here today, too.

My sister is on the Kenai Peninsula in AK. I talked to her yesterday. She's 8 months pregnant and will probably have to go an hour to the hospital on snow machine. I'll ask her to take pics of that.

And that's what she gets for living in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, or "home delivery" :) my son is a State Trooper in that area, he patrols all over it, maybe he'll get to transport her to the hospital. :)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments I suggest home delivery! An hour on a snow mobile while in labor?? Sounds like torture, lol.

I'm sure Kenny's son is a dab hand at deliveries. Let's get him cued up now. :-D

Home delivery- That's a funny picture because she lives in a cabin with no running water. I hope Kenny's son is ready because it may happen!

Well let's see, since this is the SFF thread, maybe I should convert into sidereal universal time. :)

message 1683: by Helen (new)

Helen We had snow in Manchester, UK but it didn't last long. Loads of rain which leaked through my roof helped by gale wind. It's about -1c at mo. Still, I'm in warm and chatting.

message 1684: by [deleted user] (new)

In the past thirty minutes, it's gone from a mix of snow/rain, to sunny, to windy and rainy.

Washington weather, never can make up its mind.

Kara (sterlink) | 67 comments Had to get a snow plow over to do the drive 2 times this last week, ~ 14 inches total or so, just guessing, plenty. Now it's clear and cold (-5 F) with pristine beauty.

=)

message 1697: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments Everyone here in WA keeps talking about the snow. The news anchors won't shut up about it. I've been looking out my window all day and all I've got is SUN! I'm sick of effing sun. I want some snow or at least a good rainstorm. Everyone but me...

message 1698: by [deleted user] (new)

You've really got snow over there in Ghetto-ville?? Some friends a few miles south of me have some flurries, and some other friends over in the harbor have it. But I just went outside. Nothing.

message 1700: by [deleted user] (new)

Ghettoville?

BANNED

we got like a dusting, really. Most of it didn't stick since it was raining earlier.
