Q. There are so many folders. How do I know where to post a topic?

If you are unsure which folder to start your topic under, please don't select any folder and it will default to a general folder. Once the moderators get a look at the direction of the discussion one of them will move it to the correct discussion folder for our group. As moderators we may change the title of your topic to make it clearer if necessary. The best discussions take off when the title is precise and conveys what you want to discuss or the question you want to ask.

Before starting a new topic it's best to look in the most likely discussion sections to see if we are already talking about your topic. The home page only shows you the top 5 most recently posted subjects for each thread but there are usually more topics under each folder.

If we move your topic we will post a comment on which discussion folder we are moving it to so that all the current posting members will know where to find it going forward.

If you know where your topic belongs please start it in the correct discussion folder to avoid any confusion that may occur when we move your discussion, if possible.

Q. How do I participate in book discussions and when are they held?

The discussions are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and you are welcome to discuss any book at anytime EVEN if it is not the book of the month. A new book is picked each month, one month a King book book the next month a book the group would recommend to King. Nominations and voting are not on a particular date so stop by the home page regularly to find out when it is happening.

Book mark the site so that you can find it easy next time.

Q. Can I just start a thread for any King Book?

NO! Please don't! Most likely the book is already being discussed!! Please go to the Group Map to find a link to the book or look around the group homepage for the book.

Q. How do you handle spoilers in the book topics?

Please be sure to take a moment and read our spoiler policy.. this is important because if we see one your post will just be deleted!! Spoiler Policy

Q. What are your guidelines for posting in this group?

Treat other members courteously, as though you were a guest in their home.
Nobody has the right to abuse anyone verbally, to spam the forum, or make offensive remarks.
Arguments are a part of the forum experience. Opinions on this site are diverse and sometimes directly polarized. We all love reading threads where there are many opposing ideas, but any differences must be addressed with respect.
We will not tolerate when individuals go beyond these boundaries — it’s not fun to read and destroys community atmosphere. Keep the arguments restricted to books and ideas, don’t attack people.

NEW RULE AS OF 11/1/2017
If you seem to be hijacking threads for the sake of just arguing you will be blocked no warning. We've had too many people argue just to fight and make the whole thread about them and not about Stephen King.

Q. Self-Promoting and Spam
While many of us enjoy coming to GoodReads to find new authors and sample books that we wouldn't otherwise have a chance to try, there are many forums on the GoodReads site for this.

This group is not one of them. This is a fan group for Stephen King and his works. We do have threads for other authors, those who might appeal to King readers. But this group is definitely not set up for self-promotion and/or spam.

Please refrain from posting promotional threads here in this group. As it has been done in the past, these will be deleted.
