Hey, I just ordered it from Amazon Prime (it was too hard to pay $8 for Kindle when I could buy 3 pb books for the price of 4). I should have it early next week to start!

Fran | 12278 comments Yz,

I read Like Water for Chocolate as a buddy read with Vi. I enjoyed many aspects of the book, but was also bewildered by some of it. Thanks for the rec though, I am glad I read it :)

Thanks for reading it with me Vi!

Gigi | 1149 comments Hey Dee! I just got Sweet as Sin. Can we start it today? LOL

I'm glad you are enjoying your picks! I'm sorry you didn't like Exclusively Yours more. I guess we aren't reading In Bed with a Highlander as a buddy read, but that is probably for the best anyway since I am not getting much reading done yet. Pain meds make focusing difficult! I am so glad to hear you liked it though, I am really looking forward to it!

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Stats Time!

Nora Roberts and Richelle Mead share the title of most recommended author this month. I believe this is the first time in the top group for Simone Elkeles. This might also be the first time J.R. Ward didn't make this list (although she was in the next group of 7 authors with 9 recommendations).

1. Nora Roberts - 15
1. Richelle Mead - 15
3. Maya Banks - 14
4. Karen Marie Moning - 13
4. J.D. Robb - 13
4. Cassandra Clare - 13
4. Diana Gabaldon - 13
4. George R.R. Martin - 13
9. Sarah Addison Allen - 12
9. Suzanne Collins - 12
11. Jennifer Crusie - 11
12. Simone Elkeles - 10
12. Stieg Larsson - 10
12. Lisa Kleypas - 10
12. Lorelei James - 10

out of 1026 recommendations

message 513: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Ok, now for top titles.

Another tie at the top. We have the first book in a very popular fantasy series (it even has an HBO show) and the first book in a long (over 30 books) mystery/romance series. This is Divergent's first time on this list and also Perfect Chemistry's.

1. A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin - 11
1. Naked in Death by J.D. Robb - 11
3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - 9
3. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - 9
5. Divergent by Veronica Roth - 8
5. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - 8
7. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - 7
7. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - 7
7. Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James - 7
7. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles - 7
7. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - 7
12. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - 6
12. Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare - 6

AlbertaJenn | 0 comments I finished A Wallflower Christmas early this morning! Couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd read. It was quick, at only 200 pages.

Loved it. A must-read for any Lisa Kleypas fan. Wonderful to catch up with the Wallflower characters again.

Now off to do some reading for another challenge. But I just might be able to fit in another read from the list that Sandy made up for me!

I'm glad people enjoy them. You are right, they do take a long time, but it is cool to see how the top recommendations change or stay the same over time.

message 527: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished All Together Dead my buddy read with Joyce. I like the Sookie books a lot and gave it four stars. I liked Quinn. I wonder when he will be on the show True Blood, though Eric will always be my favorite of Sookie's men. I will read Garden Spells next and then I have another buddy read to read with Joyce, Clockwork Angel.

message 528: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 433 comments I've just finished Daughter of Smoke and Bone, my buddy read with Valerie. I enjoyed it a lot, but it was a bit more fantasy based than I was expecting.

Sana (sanashams) Hey Eimeriina~!

I just finished Before I Go to Sleep. I am afraid I didn't like it as much as I wanted to. Nonetheless it was a good mystery-slash-thriller read and I am glad I read it. Thanks for the rec!

You;re welcome! I'm going to read it this weekend.

message 539: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) I forgot to post it before, but I finished Out of this World (Includes In Death, #12.5; Immortal Witches, #4) by J.D. Robb last week. I really liked the J.D. Robb story, the others less so. Also, I think the Laurell K. Hamilton story was actually an excerpt from Narcissus in Chains which was a bit strange but not bad.

I'm glad you liked your picks Tiffany. Dee recommended Faith and Fidelity to me a few months ago and I love passing it on. I just finished Hot Head which was similar in that they're straight, but very different (and very sexy). I really enjoyed it, you should give it a try. :-)

Got sidetracked by Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James which I found out about from another group and was really good
