Please edit or correct or delete this quote. (part 2)
I have some quotes added for my book (Altered) that I added under my name - Laura Burks. Here's my problem, I only put Laura Burks and not Laura Burks, Altered. How can I add my book title after my name. I want the quotes to come up listed for my book and not just me.Thanks!
actually the problem is that your name should not have author as part of it. I'll fix the attributes by on your quotes by making sure that they show Laura Burks as the author and the book as Altered. But since you're a goodreads author you should merge the "Laura Burks author of Altered" into your regular author profile, or ask a superlibrarian to do it.
How do I fix that? On my other quotes, all I have is Laura Burks. Only one did I put the correct wording: Laura Burks, Altered. I have several to fix.
I've cleaned up all your quotes. Lemme know if you see anything that's still incorrect. I'll post a request in the goodreads librarians forum to merge the incorrect profile into yours.
Can a super do a tweak on this one. http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...
The actual quote from the book is very different
"Let me say this: bein a idiot is no box of chocolates."
The version from the film WAS written into Gump and Co which is more of a sequel to the movie than to the first book:

So I suppose you could either change the text to the correct quote OR change the book. I prefer the correct version

But I suspect the 400+ users who have shelved it would not. Changed it to the second book.
You could always add the correct quote from the first book as well.

Well, I PREFER the original version but not by much. I like the movie version even less now that I know that it was, apparently, invented by the movie makers.
If I hadn't read both books we would have deleted the quote entirely. There is a moral there somewhere.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
No, that's not it . . .

Nothing like #333 is in the book, so it needs deleting.Other versions for deleting.

and two others already purged.
Got 334 - 337.I did do a search on gutenberg, and did not find a quote even similar #333. However, I left 333 and 338 for someone else since I am not familiar with the text of that book.
This seems like a post from someone's description which includes Pablo Neruda's quotations and not a quote by an author. However it has been liked by 210 people. Should it be deleted?
Can anyone get this author to be a "clickable" listing? Jane Austin is certainly in the database - and shows up in the author field when you edit - but when you select "Jane Austin" and save - it is not a link to her profile. I have encountered a few like this.http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...
Sorry - forgot the link
Melody wrote: "http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...Here's another example."
mm interesting, I got it clickable by editing, added 1 (anything)then reedited and it is clickable
I corrected the spelling (Jane Austen) and it worked. Still doesn't explain why it wouldn't accept "Jane Austin" since it was in the database.
Yes - had trouble with it first, did not do the Jane Austen one, incase you wanted to test it out aswell
Well, I got it to work, but it was a little troublesome at first.I started out trying my normal tactic. I deleted the last couple letters, let it search, and then selected the author name from the drop-down list. When I saved, the name still wasn't clickable.
However, when I added a number and then saved, like Paula suggested above, it created an new clickable author name. I was then able to go back and correct the author name, which was then clickable.
Seems like some sort of weird bug, but at least there's a work-around. :S
Please merge this quote, which is incorrect, http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...
into this one, which is correct.

(the quote is Parker's answer when asked to use the word horticulture during a game of Can-You-Give-Me-A-Sentence?, as quoted in You Might as well Live by John Keats (1970))
Merged, corrected, and attributed 356.(And here I thought I was the first one to come up with that pun. Shoulda known better.)
Someone asked me to edit this quote, and I can't. (Which is odd because I've done it before and it only has one like.) It just needs to have "ware" changed to "aware."

Fixed.
Two points. Firstly, that quote was already on Goodreads:
http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...
Secondly, every version was wrong.
Referring to 362 and 363, can a super edit this one and remove a "never", there should only be three not four.http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/show/...

to:

the book:
Phrynette Married
and then merge it with this other version which already has the correct attribution:

AND THEN, probably, change the text to:
"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time".
