This is a collection of travel memoirs of different lengths written about Cuba. I am delighted by the different takes on the island by authors of different walks of life. I am also becoming more and more convinced that Tom Miller (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...) is a great travel writer himself, although a hugely underrated one.
There are other books about Cuba I'm interested in:
- The Island That Dared: Journeys in Cuba, by Dervla Murphy (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...)
- Havana: A Subtropical Delirium, by Mark Kurlansky (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)

Peace Is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life by Thich Nhat Hanh

Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time

Will look out for those reads, a very interesting book about Cuba that I recommend is The Cubans: Ordinary Lives in Extraordinary Times

Thanks, it's now on my ever-increasing tbr list!

I was in Egypt in January. I saw the mummy of Queen Hatshepsut but because it was such a fast trip and so much to see, I forget. I thought it was at the Library of Alexandria but could not find it by researching.

The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson
Pandora's Lab: Seven Stories of Science Gone Wrong by Paul A. Offit

Narrated by Sheera Frenkel, Cecilia Kang, and Holter Graham

Half way thru, and it’s amazing this wild family had any capacity to produce luxury products for sale with all the continuous infighting.

I am nearing the end but really enjoying it.

I just started The Handmaid's Tale too. I am doing the audio version. I am enjoying it. The jumping around from current to past to dreams does make it difficult to follow at times.

I just started reading The Innkeeper on the Edge of Paris by J. Schlenker.

Started this one at lunch today. I love the setting of the novel.
Death at La Fenice by Donna Leon

I loved this book so much, as well as the books I’ve read so far in the series.

Oh, I didn’t know it was part of a series. I picked it up for the mystery and setting. I miss the beautiful city.
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to look up the rest.
