I actually forced myself to write Max's book first because I knew she'd be tougher for me to figure out. I'm going to have a lot of fun with Miko and all her book-nerdiness! ~Rachel(less)

I was at a conference years ago and I was listening to a class taught by Nora Roberts and someone raised their hand trying to get guidance and she was like “sit your butt in the chair and write the words.” The hardest part about being an author, it doesn’t matter if it’s your first book or your 50th, it’s always a slog, it’s always hard, it’s always you against you. And the only way that you are ever gonna hold one of your books in your hands is if you are bound and determined to finish what you start. Lots of us can start a thousand manuscripts, but very few people will actually finish that thing they’re working on. We just keep starting new projects. So, the best advice I can give you is to just sit down and write. And when you wanna tell someone about it, you’re like “oh maybe I should dream up the cover, etc.” Just write the freaking book. That’s my advice.(less)

Ok, I saw that Magic Mike Trailer yesterday and I couldn't help myself... I HAD to make a parody video!

So check it out, we turned it into a cover reveal for Sweet Girl. I think it turned out really funny... also, I have a welder's mask now if anyone needs one! ;) ~Rachel

“You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.”
Rachel Hollis, Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be

“know this one great truth: you are in control of your own life. You get one and only one chance to live, and life is passing you by. Stop beating yourself up, and dang it, stop letting others do it too. Stop accepting less than you deserve. Stop buying things you can’t afford to impress people you don’t even really like. Stop eating your feelings instead of working through them. Stop buying your kids’ love with food, or toys, or friendship because it’s easier than parenting. Stop abusing your body and your mind. Stop! Just get off the never-ending track.”
Rachel Hollis, Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be

“Comparison is the death of joy, and the only person you need to be better than is the one you were yesterday.”
Rachel Hollis, Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be

“It is a lovely oddity of human nature that a person is more inclined to interrupt two people in conversation than one person alone with a book.”
Amor Towles, Rules of Civility

“...be careful when choosing what you're proud of--because the world has every intention of using it against you.”
Amor Towles, Rules of Civility

“In our twenties, when there is still so much time ahead of us, time that seems ample for a hundred indecisions, for a hundred visions and revisions—we draw a card, and we must decide right then and there whether to keep that card and discard the next, or discard the first card and keep the second. And before we know it, the deck has been played out and the decisions we have just made will shape our lives for decades to come.”
Amor Towles, Rules of Civility

“See that's where you're wrong baby. When you find your man, it's almost too easy. Gettin' married and havin' a mortgage, kids and a business to run and findin' a way to stay in love day in day out, that's the tougher part. But the beginning'… that parts easy as pie. That's why they call it fallin' because it happens before you have time to stop yourself.”
Rachel Hollis, Party Girl

“If I had a power color, it would definitely be SPARKLE" ~Landon Brinkley”

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* Thank you for the friend invite, Rachel. As you can probably see from my bookshelves, my first love is Historical Romance and we do have a lot of books in common. I do have a blog and, if you would like to take a look, here is the link:

http://rakesandrascals.wordpress.com

I see you are a fan of Anna Campbell. She did a guest post on my blog on 26th August about What a Duke Dares, book 3 of the Sons of Sin series, which you might like to read. I have also reviewed the first three books in the series.

Dina Hi Rachel, thanks for the friend invite!

Hahaha, I know my opinion about Outlander makes most people cringe and call me names, but what can I say? It didn't work for me. Everyone has that one book that makes them think they're "weird". Outlander is mine. ;)
