I enjoyed it overall. About halfway through I couldn't imagine how much more there could be to say about wolves, so I thought it could have used some judicious editing. But the information about the exploitation of the Mongolian grasslands by the Chinese government was interesting. It is based upon the author's experience in working on the grasslands, so it is well worth reading.

Jim Townsend | 33 comments Good afternoon!

It's still daylight here on America's east coast, and browsing through this thread I realize I have to play a lot of catch up before I get to mustard.

Finished Little Women and am now reading A Laodicean : a Story of To-day, but don't know where they're set.

Also started In Cold Blood, set in the U.S. State of Kansas, while on vacation in Las Vegas, NV USA.

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I just finished The Escape Artist by Diane Chamberlain The Escape Artist by Diane Chamberlain . I gave this book 3.5 stars. I'm a fan of Diane Chamberlain and I enjoyed this novel but its not one of my favourites. I found the book to be a bit too far-fetched and unrealistic at times.

Jana (janoona) @Yaman: Sounds like a novel that merges with historical and political events (crisis of Apartheid). I'll keep it in my mind until I have as much spare time as it seemingly requires.

I'm attempting to read Divine Comedy by Dante which is taking a BUNCH of time to get into. I think most of you are already familiar with this one, but the structure of his work mostly uses symbolic terms so as to illustrate - let's say - purgatory, hell, ... . I've been reading some pages double-time until I was completely sure of what was going on. Still a good read for those who are interested in the beginnings of italian literature.
