What Are You Reading? Part 1

That's real love right there!

I met Warner. Cocky bastard! I wanted to punch him few times but not really hate him. His persuasion methods might not be holy and noble but he speaks truth. And I can't love Adam because we don't get to see him much and he most of the times doesn't talks. Still no team, but I enjoy reading this book very much.

Exactly. I always hate how the good boys have this sort of self-righteous attitude that goes along with them like they are on the side of absolute right and anything other than that is wrong. With the antiheroes there's always they grey area where you just don't what side they are on and it's almost always surprising.
The Selection is good and the Prince is totally adorbs. I hope you like it:D

I completely disagree. I feel like it is a little bit conventional that Warner can't go beyond who he is because he's too broken. I think the main difference is that Warner and Juliette identify with each other better and in turn make each other stronger emotionally and Adam just wants to shelter and coddle her because of her history but I don't believe that is quite necessary anymore because she isn't that same girl she was before, she has found self-confidence and acceptance from people like Kenji and the others at Omega Point.

Oh, just you wait, he does lots of talking and they have plenty of...moments that are quite memorable!! The shower scene is still one we all talk about...*sigh*

So,
turned out to be better than I originally expected, thankfully. Still nothing outstanding, but a decent read.
On to
for blog review and
so I can be ready for
next month! So nervous after reading the blurb for Salvation, Refugee is going to be painful!!
Of course, if I get my freaking copy of
today then those will have to wait a day! =)

Those are the ones that get us, aren't they? *sigh*

Yes, exactly! That is one of the reasons I try to stay away from triangles (yeah I know, I'm failing miserably.) When there is only one main character they tend to stay on that gray area and surprise us with there actions. With triangles authors don't give us space to make our own decisions if action is good or bad. Take Adam and Warner, Adam is assumed (and I don't mean he isn't) good because he wants to protect Juliette. Yep, in general that is right thing to do. but in my opinion that's wrong. like you said she needs to be broken out of herself. Warner is doing that, his cruelty isn't shattering her. It's giving her strength, will to fight back. I don't know if that's his intention or it's just happening that way but I think he is on right track.
Yeah, got it all out. :D

I'm starting to think they don't really need to do lots of talking. ;)

Haha I was like that too. Both books kept me up at night. They're just too good to stop reading. Mafi is good at sucking you into the story. I remember reluctantly putting the book down at 5 am during Shatter Me. I didn't wanna sleep. I finished it quickly after that. Enjoy! :)

THANK YOU Annie!!! These are my exact thoughts, but soo many are team-Warner that I thought I was missing something. I haven't read Destroy Me, so I thought maybe that was the reason.

I read it and loved it. I thought it was really great.

Ummm Amanda...Once Burned isn't really a light read. Maybe someone gave you some bad information.

Oh I'm definitely still Team Adam :) Haha yeah, I think everyone has done really well keeping the twist a secret

This trilogy is turning out to be a really hot topic for us LOL! So impressed with all of us, we're so good at not spoiling the story. I love them both. So hard to decide which team to be but I do admit that I'm more Warner than Adam as of Destroy Me :D can't wait to see what's in store for all of us in the next book EEEKKKPPP!

I know!! I just want Warner to WANT to change. I really like him now and it kills me that he doesnt want to be good:(

YES!! I LOVED IT! All of it. So fresh and wonderful. So very excited about this being a whole new series to look forward to :) those crows were hilarious! And Simon is a hoot LMAO! OMG and they keep referring to the human people as "The Meg" "The Ruthie" LOL!

I know, we're probably going to have to wait a year for the next one but damn it'll be worth it if it's undoubtedly as brilliant as this first book. And omg that crow Harry with the pens and pencils bartering with "The Meg" for sugar lumps LOL! OMG OMG and "the special meat" conversations LMAO!

Agreed. That's the problem with good guys, they are good. You always know they will do right thing and almost always know what that right thing is. So not exciting. But with villains you never know! They will turn your world upside-down and keep you on your toes. and unexpected is exciting.
I haven't read Selection yet, maybe next month I will get personal with the prince!
