This is a previously-published edition - ASIN: B008IVT0W2

This novel is intended for adults only. It includes lots of cursing, descriptive sex, biting sarcasm, and dark themes. HYDE was inspired by Stevenson's novella but is not a retelling, in part because he and this author have very different definitions of 'bad boy'.

Honesty is impossible when you don't know the truth to begin with.

Mitchell Turner is everything women want most in a man--he's charismatic, successful, and undeniably gorgeous. But he's not a man--he's a monster. By venting his rage 24/7, Mitch keeps people out of the danger zone that surrounds him. But, after the most incredible night of his life, he realizes that might not be possible. Except the woman he wakes up with claims she doesn't remember any of it. And that kind of thing can make a guy insecure.

Eden Colfax is kind, loyal, honest to a fault, and cavity-inducing sweet. To rid herself of the monsters that haunted her broken childhood, Eden doesn't lie, doesn't curse, and definitely never wakes up naked in strangers' beds...until the day she does. Then the flashbacks start--places she's never been, people she's never met, blood she's never spilled. And the only person with any answers is a man she never wants to see again.

What they don't know is that someone is manipulating them, determined to find out exactly what they're capable of. And when the truth leaves them nothing to hold onto, they will be forced into a partnership neither expected. Or wanted.

But in life, who you trust is as important as who you are. And when you can't even trust yourself, sometimes the only person you can rely on is the last person on earth you should be falling for.

*WARNING!! AFTER READING CONTENTS OF THIS BOOK YOU MAY REQUIRE A FAN, BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND, or COLD SHOWER

HOLY MOTHER OF AWESOME! This book was a pleasant surprise....BEYOND a pleasant surprise! Little ol' me was searching through Goodreads trying to find a new book to read when...OH! What is this?!? it appears to be Hyde, an Urban Fantasy.

First I was like hmmm

then i was like WOAH!

and now I'm like NOOOOOO!!!!

Alright. Now that I have calmed down let me head straight to the summary. Hyde is a modern twist on the old novela "The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Let me just say that as a Psych major, Jeckyl and Hyde is a personal favorite and a required read academically so I had very low expectations when it came to a "based-on" type story, but OH BOY was I wrong! The book starts off strong as it introduces the reader to Mitchell and his sister Shelly 15 years prior to the start of the actual storyline. We find out that Mitchell's father is this crazy monster thing and that it is somehow passed on through genes. Fast forward 15 years and we meet a 23 year old Eden and a 31 year old Mitchell. Eden is having some "symptoms" that force her to interact with Mitchell and together they must figure out how to deal with the beast that is within them both while trying their best not to fall in love.

My opinion? Well, the story was fantastic. The author did a great job of making something original out of a classic while still keeping true (in a small way) to the essence that is/was Mr.Hyde. Mitchell has become one of my absolute favorite characters, not only because he is overly charming and handsome but because his sarcasm and witty comments make the very core of the book. There were plenty of moments where I laughed out loud when Mitchell said something, mostly when it came to speaking with Eden. I love the mystery at the beginning of the book, and even though it becomes pretty clear early on who the "real" bad guy/gal is it still kept me at the edge of my seat waiting for the reveal. Eden is a whole different ballpark. I don't exactly know what to feel about her. She's so moody and fragile, it kind of bored me a bit. In fact, I kind of liked Chastity more than I liked Eden because Chastity was just a little more scandalous. The sex? Ha. There were plenty of small sexual innuendoes all through the book which lead up to one very steamy night of passion (well several nights actually). *See Warning Above*

The ending? DAMN YOU CLIFFHANGEEEEEEERRSSS!!! We are left pondering the future and safety of our main characters of course. What good series wouldn't leave us waiting like crazy folk for the next installment. All I can say is I can't wait. I MUST KNOW! AAAAAH THE FRUSTRATION!

“No one wants to know someone else’s pain or that they have darkness within them. But you . . . You make me feel like I don’t have to hide anything."

OMG Pictures, Images and Photos

I wasn't expecting this book to be ... to be .... ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY BRILLIANT !!! HOLY CREEPERS !

My brain is running around in circles right now , gaah , I cant even think straight !

Breathe bitch just breathe .... Thats right , Inhale ... Exhale .... Inhale .... Exhale .... Better .

WOW WOW and simply WOW ! Urban Fantasies are not really something I look forward , I'm more of a contemporary romance kinda person . But holy mother of god , this book just blew my mind ... into pieces ! Such a fantastic retelling rendition of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with a modern outlook and setting .

Eden Colfax is a good girl . She doesn't lie , use cuss words or treat people badly . Mitchell Turner is a bad boy . A very very bad boy . But he wasn't what he seems , or more like what he is , he actually isn't . Damn it , here I go in circles again . Well , lets just say that both Eden and Mitch have secrets , big , dark and really twisted messed up secrets . Secrets that can kill . Eden needs help and she's sure that there's only one man who can help her . But will he ?? Mitch is really good at pushing people away . He has a killer sarcasm , that he effectively uses to make him look like a guy with no heart , feelings and emotions . But there is something about Eden that makes him all soft and nice . But is that okay ?? What are their secrets ?? Is it in their genes , or are they just puppets that are being controlled by some master puppeteer , watching their little show from afar ??

The book was definitely something out of the blue for me . The story was intriguing from start to the end . The author manages you to pull you into the story right from page 1 . You , as a reader cant help but get sucked into the whirlwind of events that play out one by one . There is a mystery here , but that mystery is just a part of the bigger mystery , just like a piece of puzzle that connects you to a much bigger picture .The whole good and evil theory is placed out really well . I couldn't help but ask , does embracing your dark side make you a better person ??? Dont get me wrong here , I know all of us have a side to us that we are scared of acknowledging . A side that is scary . But would admitting that , that side exist in all of us , make us something good . But then again , what is good ? What is bad ? Can it be that what we deem as good , can be deemed bad for someone else . Where do we draw the lines to goodness and evil . How much of something is good and where does it end and evil begins . I'm sure if we look into the life we are living these days and the society we live in the line between evil and good is clearly blurred . Honestly , I was kinda unsure as to how would I able to review this book without giving away a lot of details . And man I sure am sucking at it right now .I've driven into philosophy . I'm more of the 'guess-whats-gonna-happen-next' kind of a rider . Reading this book was like exercising my brain . Seriously people , I ain't kidding . As you read along you are going to meet various different characters , and a part of you will definitely wonder can these characters be trusted or not . What is their actual role in this entire thing . But trust me , the author does manage to answer a lot of these questions by the end of the book . And OH.MY.GOD , the last 10% is an absolute adrenaline rush !!!! Thats where the book just explodes and things start falling into place . I absolutely loved that portion of the book . And the ENDING ! Oh god ,

kill me right now no , I need the next book like right now !!! What the fuck , that was just out of nowhere !!! Totally unexpected !

I loved the main characters ! Both Eden and Mitch were two really frustrated , freaked out , highly emotional , yet strong in their own way . Especially Eden ! Oh god , I loved her . She doesnt really comes across as a 'I'm gonna hurt you real bad , Punk!' woman , but man oh man did she surprise me in the end ... well , almost near the end She's really clever but is too shy . And Mitch , I dont even know what to say here . The guy is just lonely , super lonely and doesnt do emotions . But he really is an awesome person . Oh , and did I mention that he is SUPER HOT . He is a beast , a sexy beast . When I read about him , this is they guy I pictured in my head :

All in all a very sexy in its own right , dark and edgy , deliciously hot read that will keep you on the edge of your seat !!

A big thank you to P.A Lupton for recommending this book to me !

We all have to vent once in a while, not a pretty sight, but necessary. For Mitchell Turner it is the only way to keep his inner monster contained and people at a distance, in a “safety” zone, far from the clutches of his alter ego, Hyde.

Eden “sleepwalks,” or so she thinks, but what she does while out is beyond anything anyone could possibly do in their sleep. Her inner siren craves men, sex and all in excess. As Fate would have it, Mitchell and Eden’s worlds collide under the sheets with a raging inferno, but the morning after is a disaster when Eden claims not to remember a thing.

Together, they gain an uneasy truce as Eden’s pursuit of help from Mitchell takes them down a harrowing path of lifelong deceptions, death and the realization that they are not alone. Follow their dark paths down wicked twists and the machinations of others to control them like puppets in a macabre play.

Lauren Stewart has built a dark world, a world on the edge of jagged and torn where evil lurks as an unknown entity incites their inner beasts and two people attempt to tame them by any means possible, including love. Hyde is NOT the tale one remembers form long ago, it is a tale of darkness, blood and a budding romance between two people who know what Hell is, what betrayal is and what the loss of lives can do to a soul. Ms. Stewart is an excellent storyteller, with pacing that matches each scene, scenes that graphically come to life and an air of mystery surrounding it all. Part horror show, part romance, mystery and dark fantasy, there is a depth to this tale that Lauren Stewart has the talent to present with bold writing.

What.the.hell.was.that.

“Please, Eden,” he begged, his lips grazing her cheek. He’d die if he couldn’t touch her again. Curl up and fucking wilt like an annual in the fall.   “One more time,” he whispered.

This book is an experience. It's not just a story you read to pass your time. It's a story you live in, while you worship the complication of Hyde and Jekyll.

If the man is secretly a monster, he will try to stay away from the woman to keep her safe. But if the woman is secretly a monster as well, should their curses clash?Eyes that change colour, beasts that beg to break free, someone who can no longer have faith in what he knows, what he remembers and what is true.

Mitch is the most perfect sarcasm-fueled, f*cked-over-by-life, sexiest and sweetest bastard I have ever read about. The book begins and ends with him. He is the absolute hero. Eden is one of those heroines that you can't help but read comfortably, an extremely perplexed life narrated in a way that does not give you a headache.

You are mine, Mitch. All of you. Both of you are mine. If I have to prove it to you, then I will. I’m not giving up on us, even if you do. We can make our own freedom.”

But Mitch is the one who makes this book what it is.

He’d make them pay. Even if he had to let the beast out to do it.

This is something you will not see a lot of...

This is the retelling of Hyde PLUS a great romance PLUS additional something that I can't say without ruining the book PLUS comedy!

This was just awesome!

It had all of the things I love: bad boy sexy hero, love, romance, sex, mystery, etc

No Love Triangle... :-( I almost should take half a star but I won't because it was that great!

My Rating: ★★★★★

Book Description:
To survive, they must embrace what they most despise . . . in themselves and each other.

Mitch Turner is everything women want most in a man—charismatic, successful, drop-dead gorgeous. Except he’s not a man—he’s a monster.

The only way Mitch can protect others from his monstrous side is to stop them from getting too close…that and a 7x7 foot cage. Isolated by his genetic curse, he spends his life hurting people emotionally, driving them away before Hyde can harm them physically. But, after a night of the best sex Mitch has ever had, he realizes that might be impossible. Except the woman he was with claims she doesn’t remember any of it.

Eden Colfax is everything men want most, men other than Mitch, that is. She’s kind, honest to a fault and sickeningly sweet. To rid herself of the monsters that haunted her broken childhood, Eden doesn’t lie, doesn’t curse, and definitely never wakes up naked in strangers’ beds…until the day she does.

Then the flashbacks start—places she’s never been, people she’s never met, blood she’s never spilled. She discovers she’s split into two parts—the woman she thought she knew and another who is capable of anything. And the only person with any answers is the one man she never wants to see again.

What neither of them know is that someone is watching them both, manipulating them, determined to see just how evil the two of them really are. And when the truth begins to seep through the cracks, leaving them nowhere to turn but each other, they will be forced into a partnership neither had expected.

Because in life, who you trust is as important as who you are. And when you can’t even trust yourself, sometimes the only person you can rely on is the last person on Earth you should be falling for.

My Thoughts:
Honestly, when I started reading the book, I was thinking, "It's an urban fantasy book and I'm a paranormal girl......I don't know if I'm gonna like this." Boy, am I glad I got past my own hold ups and read the story. One word describes it: CAPTIVATING! I was completely drawn in by the prologue and the book only got better and better with each successive page. Ms. Stewart did an exceptional job bringing the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde into the 21st century but with a twist and a love interest. I loved the character dynamic: Eden's sweet and tenacious to Mitchell's (don't call me Mitch) sour and sarcastic. I felt as if they compliment each other perfectly. The fact that they were drawn together by scheming and manipulative people (including a friend) only served to make the story even more interesting. I loved it and I am beyond eager to know more. But my parting words are to Ms. Stewart regarding the ending: "How could you just leave me hanging like this" *sob*. I was seriously shaking my Kindle for an elusive epilogue only to come up empty ....Great job!!!

I’ve always loved the story of Jekyll and Hyde. It represents so much more than a crazy doctor who changes into a monster. It symbolizes the duality of good and evil in every person, and the idea that everyone has a little bit of bad in them. Hyde was such an interesting twist to an old story and I loved it. Lauren Stewart did an excellent job of retelling a story that’s been done before, and she did it in such a unique and fresh way. It makes you think, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and it’s got one of the best love scenes I’ve read in a book this year.

I loved Mitch and Eden. Not only did they each have their very own Hyde, which was the complete opposite of their personalities, but they were so different from each other as well. Mitch was a jerk—and I happened to love it. He was rude and offensive to everyone around him, and yet I laughed at everything he said. I loved that the story was written in the third person and switched between Eden and Mitch because this made Mitch likeable. He was Barrons (from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series)—but we got to see in his head and see why he was such a jackass. For those of you who love Barrons but wished that you could have read his point of view, Mitch will be right up your alley.

Eden was a polar opposite to Mitch. He lied all the time, she never lied. He was promiscuous, she was celibate. He was a jerk, she was sweet. When they say that opposites attract, they could have been talking about Mitch and Eden. But boy did they have chemistry—seriously, that was truly one of the best written love scenes I’ve read.

The other thing I loved about this story is the twist to the plot. The direction Lauren Stewart is going with the Secret Organization known as The Clinic, who monitor the “Hydes” and use them in some kind of nefarious scheme, I found that really intriguing and I can’t wait to find out more.

The only downside of this book is that I have to wait for book2—shame on you Ms. Stewart for leaving me hanging like that. Thank god book 2 is being released shortly or I may have been a bit disgruntled. I will definitely be reading book 2 and I recommend this book for anyone who loves Urban Fantasy and Paranormal stories but want something different and unique. And for those of you who fell in love with Jericho Barrons, I think you’ll find a new love in Mitch.

All human beings are commingled out of good and evil.

Addendum to my addendum: The great news is...Hyde is now available on B&N! So all you incredibly patient Nook readers won't have to hunt me down after all. Thank you again for understanding! Very big smile on my face right now. :)

Addendum: THE BOOK IS OUT! Whoot! Doing happy dance now...hard to type...and breathe...gotta go...

I just thought I should mention that it is not for the faint of heart. If you despise cussing, sex, or sarcasm, I suggest you go find another book.

Of course, if you loved Karen Marie Moning's Fever series or J.R. Ward's BDB series, I think you'll fit in just fine. :)

Hope you enjoy!

DONE...DONE....DONE!
DNF-could not finish.

It has taken me three months to attempt to finish this but it ain't happening for the following reasons:

1. This book has 40 pages worth of story stuck in a book that is 335 pages long. No movement in story and slow as fuck.
2. Characters are boring and I could not care less about them.
3. Heroine "Eden" is officially my most hated book character ever. She's an idiot, she's pathetic and she is now the only fictional character that I wish was real solely for the purpose of me kicking the shit out of her.

angry gif Pictures, Images and Photos

This one got high reviews so I'm disappointed that it didn't work for me. Now I can move on to books that are worth the effort.

4.5 stars

I am having such a great run with the Amazon freebies and cheapies at the moment.

I read a lot of books, and I read a lot of romance books. When you read this many books there comes a time when you realise characters/plots/setting are often recycled in this genre. It breeds the cliché. When that time comes cute little stories that you would years previously have loved and smacked a 5 star on it can’t really get beyond 3.5 stars. Don’t get me wrong I love to read such stories but if it wasn’t for stories such as this one I would get a bit sick of it.

This book absolutely amazed me.

"Dang it, of all the men in the world, why was she only attracted to this one? He was her Kryptonite - weakening her knees, destroying her strength."

"But she was right- something was bringing them together. He didn't believe in coincidences, just really fucking awful karma. You get what you give."

Eden Colfax is the epitome of good girl. Her harsh upbringing with a junkie mother and then being tossed into the foster system means she doesn’t do drugs, she doesn’t have one-night stands and she definitely doesn’t dance on table tops in random bars. At least she didn’t think she did. When Eden wakes up in bed with Mitch Turner she has no memory of the passionate night that they shared. That’s because like the legend of Jekyll and Hyde, Eden has a hidden monster lurking inside her. Chastity is everything Eden doesn’t want to be; she sleeps around, does drugs and hates clothing. She also has a habit of leaving Eden on Mitch’s doorstep.

"Relationships are complicated."

"Not all of them. For instance, our relationship is very simple. You are annoying; I am annoyed. See? Totally uncomplicated."

Eden is determined that Mitch holds the key to helping her overcoming her ‘sleeping problems’ while Mitch is adamant that Eden just needs professional help for multiple personality disorder. What Mitch can’t comprehend is that maybe there is someone just like him, maybe he isn’t the only person with a Hyde.

“No one wants to know someone else’s pain or that they have darkness within them. But you . . . You make me feel like I don’t have to hide anything."

I loved the plot of this book. Even though it is based on the Hyde and Jekyll story in the world of contemporary romance it is an original story that I just could not put down. The conspiracy that is a backdrop to the relationship between Mitch and Eden keeps you guessing and really reels you in to this sinister, curious and scary world.

"It was everything. It was insanity and euphoria all rolled up by a beautiful little brunette who made his life worth something."

"Oasis. He was her oasis. After a very long walk through hell."

FREE on Amazon!

I actually read this book roughly 8 months back, but as that was before I became really invested in GR, I never got around to writing a review for it. Now that I have finally started reading the sequel, though, it may be a good idea to write down some of my thoughts on it.
Usually, I start forgetting details about the books I've read pretty much instantly after finishing them. Try to ask me something specific about any romance I read back then (that I haven't read more than once) - you probably won't get a satisfying answer. But somehow, Hyde managed to stay with me. It was so different, so unique, it somehow burned itself into my memory. And that's a damn good sign that Lauren Stewart did something right, if you ask me. So I just can't see why this book hasn't got a much better overall rating. It was pretty awesome.

As one might be able to tell from the title, Hyde is a new, original take on Robert Louis Stevenson's novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Well, not really. It's more as if Lauren Stewart got her inspiration from that story, but made her very own thing out of it. It is sexy, gritty, suspenseful, romantic, mysterious, and riddled with subtle, dry humor.

The characterization is great.
Mitch, well, he's an ass most of the time. He's sardonic, bitter and full of self-loathing. For all his life he's had to constantly fight the beast within him, his Hyde, trying to overpower his human side. He sure can be charming when he wants to... the thing is, he hardly ever does. And I still loved him.
Eden is a good girl. She doesn't lie, doesn't curse. Despite a traumatizing childhood, she's kind and giving, maybe a little too much so.
So when Eden comes to in Mitch's bed one morning without any memory how she got there, and afterwards starts sleepwalking and waking up on his doorstep every few days, she knows something's off. Mitch and Eden reluctantly end up working together to make sense of their unlikely connection, and they soon realize there's more to it than they thought.

While I didn't really enjoy the one contemporary romance I've read by Lauren Stewart, I seem to be a sucker for her PNR books. I just love the dark humor. The dialogues are snappy and witty, the writing engaging. The story is perfectly arranged with a fantastic arc of suspense.

Go and read this book. Now!

This left me perplexed... it's really difficult for me to rate it. Originality, just that fact that it is different does indeed deserve 5♥'s. The fact that I wanted to keep reading (it was a page-turner) also is worth 5♥'s. So two REALLY good things right there.

Choices that characters made (just my opinion) were at maybe a 3♥. My anger level while reading (if angriest=lowest number) was around a 2♥ level. There were moments where I absolutely wanted to reach through my Kindle and choke the characters. But, despite my anger, many like for a book to elicit such strong responses in the reader.

OKAY... I think I've finally decided... 3½♥'s is my 'official' rating, but since someone doesn't allow ½♥'s (yes, I'm looking at you GoodReads) I will round up. It was a tough call... a really tough call on if I would round up or round down. I do want to continue the series, and I think that was one of the biggest catalysts on how to score.

Edit I've mulled this over some more, and time has softened my initial gut reactions and sharp emotions... I am comfortable sticking with a 4♥'s on this. I already have the sequel and intend to read it, and that says alot right there.

So much hype around this book lately. I liked it, didn't crazy love it though.

What I enjoyed: the story. As many have stated this is a retelling of the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The balance between good and evil. Can these be controlled? Does being too good throw the balance off and vice versa? I enjoyed the wit and sarcasm of Mitchell and Eden.

What I didn't enjoy: although I understand the point that was being made, I felt like Eden was just too damn naive. TOO much. To the point that it made her spineless. I was reminded of too many popular books out right now featuring spineless sniveling women who beg and grovel too much even after getting kicked and humiliated by the hot sexy too good to be true leading man. Again, I understand the purpose of Eden needing to be perceived this way at the beginning so we can see her grow strong and confident. See how this affects her darker side, if at all - but it was borderline too much for me. Maybe I'm just hyper sensitive to this but it was almost enough for me to stop the story.

I'm glad I didn't. The way this book ends is absolutely evil and I think I might love Lauren Stewart just for that.

All I can really say is, "Wow"! This book had me from the first page right until the last. I stayed up pretty much all night to finish it and I will be a walking zombie today;but it was so worth it!
If Lauren Stewart keeps writing books like this, she will go far as an author. I am so waiting in anticipation for the next book!!!
This book was a great new take on the "Jekyl and Hyde" idea. As I read this book I went through a roller coaster of emotions, and I love books that do that for me. Not only does this have romance, but it also has suspense, betrayal and some horror thrown in! Throughout this story I was constantly finding out something else that had been hidden and the surprises that pop up at the end were great!! I really don't want to go into details of this book in fear that I might let something slip, and it is such a great read I would want any reader to experience it the way I did and not have a heads up on some of the secrets! I fell in love with the characters, Mitch and Eden. Mitch is a guy you can either love or hate, but because of his reasons for being so bitter and mean to people, I developed such a soft spot for him. He was so busy trying to throw his walls up and have people be pushed away, there was such a sense of vulnerability about him. Watching his sensitivity emerge throughout this story was so enjoyable and helped me realize that mostly everyone who holds such bitterness inside of them also has a part of them just wanting to be accepted and loved. It is usually there way of protecting themselves because they just don't want to be hurt in their lives.
Eden begins with being a little bit naive and holds such an extreme amount of loyalty in the people she loves and sees them as someone that can do no wrong. In alot of ways this sets her up to be hurt because no one is perfect and when a person puts another on a pedestal, there is always going to come a time where they let that individual down.
I love that this book has gotten me thinking about the dynamics of people and their interactions with other. In so many ways there is just so much insight in this book and so many facets of it that can keep me busy for hours thinking about it. This one is going to stay with me for awhile and I eagerly await the release of part two. Lauren Stewart has a new fan in me and I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to be entertained and likes to read books that really stop and make you think! My suggestion when you do sit down and read it, allow yourself ample amount of time to read it in one sitting, you won't want to put it down!

I’m going 4.5 but fully enjoyed this book almost cover to cover.

I was in a funk when I got nudged into giving this one a try. It was on my radar and I’m not exactly sure what turned me off in the first place or if it just got lost in the pile. Anyway thanks for the shout Sare. *waves* I love books that kind of get you at the prologue and just suck you in. Well that is what this book did to me. It helps when going in I was thinking it was going to be the same story of Jekyll and Hyde that we all know but right from the beginning it was evident that there was going to be a lot more to the story than I was expecting.

Eden is as clean as they come. She doesn’t curse or lie and definitely doesn’t sleep around. She meets up with Mitch who is pretty much the opposite of Eden. He’s obnoxious, and purposely pushes people away. Although normally this type of character usually just pisses me off most of his actions are part of an act to help control his situation. Well Eden sees right through him and the harder he pushes the more she is attracted to him. Mitch finally throws in the towel and lets Eden in and together they work on their own demons.

Again I got sucked right into this one and felt for and liked the characters almost immediately. The “steamy” was good and I found myself rooting for them to get together. There was a pretty small lull in the middle that drug a little but when I got through it, it was off to the races to the end of the book. I think this book would agree with a wide range of people.

I'm almost a total newbie when it comes to anything but realistic fiction. But this was great, it was very realistic, and the parts that had fantasy elements wasn't filled full of mumbo-jumbo.

I loved the erotic elements, though I wished there was more, I wasn't too keen on the murder-mystery, but I did like the mystery of 'The Clinic' and I loved it when they changed into 'Hyde' and 'Chastity', but that's another thing I wished there was more of, but hopefully I’ll get it in the next book :)

I loved loved loved Mitch, I liked how he was all tough on the outside, want to see more of the sweet vulnerable side like we did at the very start.

I absolutely LOVED Hyde!

If you are looking for and Urban Fantasy that sucks you into the story from page one and leaves you going...what the hell just happened? Then this is the book for you! The story was entertaining and kept me guessing from the beginning to the very end.

5 STARS all the way for me!!!

When two people that could not be more wrong and dangerous for one antoher meet and keep meeting it is what I would like to call destiny...

That is what happens to Eden & Mitch. However, Mitch's first encounter was not with Eden, but with Chastity. One night of fun for Mitch turns into a train of scary and confusing events for Eden. Waking up in someone else's bed not knowing how you got there or what you have done is the first thing Eden must figure out. The second thing is why she keeps waking up at his doorstep every 4 days.

Mitch can't get rid of Eden. His one night of fun turns into a series of encounters with her. Finding her sleeping in his doorway every few days. Believing she is crazy was the first thing Mitch concluded, and because Eden needed his help desparately to diagnose her he chooses to help her reluctantly.

Mitch did not know helping Eden would turn into finding another one LIKE HIM! Well almost like him, but a female version to his HYDE.

Now Mitch must find a way to introduce his darker side and Hyde to Eden, and a way to help her cope with her Jekyll side and Chastity.

His quest to help Eden turn into raw emotions and feelings Mitch and Eden both have never felt before. In the end he must decide how to END things with Eden, because being with her and allowing himself to get lost in the pure feelings he is having unleashes the beast within him.

The more Hyde appears the more dangerous he is to Eden.

I can't recall the last time I was this into a book. Wow, this was awesome. This may be my favorite book that I've read so far this year--definitely top two, maybe top one. There's so much originality in this book. It was like a breath of fresh air with respect to paranormal romance.

We have Mitch and we have Eden. And as you can guess from the title, at least one of them has a little Jekyll/Hyde problem. They both have strong, well-defined personalities. Immediately, they don't like each other. At the same time, I immediately wanted them to suck it up and fall in love.

The writing was great. Most notably, phenomenal sex scenes! (I'll have to go back and reread those scenes.)

The Clinic is toying with their lives--doing some sort of experimentation with them. Mitch and Eden don't know who they can trust; they certainly can't trust each other . . . since they hate each other and all. Yet, they are inexplicably drawn to each other. The Jekyll/Hyde transformations just make things more complicated, and it looks like some murders may have been committed by a Hyde.

And in the midst of all that, there's a romance brewing, and I was completely invested in it. I was interested every step of the way, and I can't wait for the second book.

This was an AMAZING book!
I haven't read a Jekyll/Hyde retelling before and I'm IN LOVE/LUST with him!! Hyde starts out with a bang and does NOT let up until the last page.

Eden and Mitch are some of the best characters I've read about and am looking forward to the next part of their story, which, sadly isn't going to be here until December.

And if you like the 'Bad Boy/Tortured Hero' AT all - Mitch is your man! I actually wanted to just smack the sh*t out of him for about half (or more) the book. I was trying desperately to get Eden to just run over/stab in the thigh/punch or kick him as well, but she's just so freakishly nice.....(dangit)... but then? I was in love.
Sigh.!

Nope. Can't do it. Dnf There's just too much scattered brainedness, whiplash changes & makes no senseness. Yes, the atrraction is sizzling, there are some great bits of humor & the sex is grand, but the story feels like thrown together left overs. My head hurts. So I'm throwing in the towel.

Okay... WOW, what a roller-coaster. Honestly. this just got better and better.
I admit, it was a little hard to get into it at the beginning, but that could be because I didn't get straight out reading time.
Here's the thing. I loved this book. I won't say it's perfect, because it's not, but it just hit the spot for me. Kinda like crack - yup, book crack.

Here's what rocks:
- the characters - yup, liked them both. Even if they were extremes, they still felt real, rang true in my delicate ears. They didn't piss me off, though they were about to... and I LOVED Eden's transformation - how she became all confident, even more confident than Mitch.
- I loved Mitch's voice. Soooo funny. And he's such a lovable jerk, especially since he has a reason to be so offensive and I love sarcasm.
- The whole idea behind Hyde - I have my unconfirmed theories to why Hyde and Chastity were the way they were (something that goes along the lines of incorporating Mitch and Eden's deepest fears about themselves). If that was what Lauren planned, my hat's off to you Mrs. Stewart.
- the romance - it was whirlwind-ish, but still felt real. They both found something in each other that they could get nowhere else. And I can understand that.
- the humor - yes, I snorted out loud at bits - very un-ladylike, I know.
- the ending: NO, it's not a cheat! And it's not a needy desperate cliffhanger - it makes SENSE. At least to me. Makes me wanna read the next book really bad. And I accept all the info not revealed about The Clinic and everything else. I will patiently wait for the next books to explain it, because, after reading the story, I trust the author - I know she'll deliver in a great way.
- The whole feel of the novel - yup, loved it from start to finish.

Um... I should say something bad, too, huh? Well, it did get confusing at some point. And I guess it did take me a while to really get into it. But, once I did... well, I can't even remember what mildly disturbed me, now.

Would I recommend this book? HELL YEAH! Would I read the sequel - HELL YEAH! Would I buy the sequel- Um... yeah, I actually would pay money for it. Would I read it again - most likely, at some point, I'll want to return to it and read it again :)

Yet another incredibly consuming book with plenty of excellent sexual tension and even better sex scenes. A very gripping first book in a series.

I loved the struggle Mitch and Eden had to deal with in trying to control themselves and the attraction they had for each other. Mitch was a dick, but I understood why he was that way. Although, in pushing people away, he set himself up for a massive deceit. It amazes me what had been going on in his life for fifteen years and he'd had not one clue. But how could he have? Who would have ever guessed this whole thing had been a set up from jump?

Then there was Eden. Just how long had she been changing? It must have started when she was a teen, but then, why did it stop for a few years? I know why it started again. I couldn't believe how she'd been deceived as well. The whole thing was elaborate as hell.

I was dying to know just how long it would be before Eden and Mitch learned the truth of things. By the time they did, it was much too late, but there's still a mystery to solve. I can't wait for it. To find out who these people behind The Clinic are. I think I know why they took Eden. Probably to do to Chastity what they did to Shelly. I wonder if they know that They had to have been watching Mitch's house, but why not take him, too?

This an excellent spin on the Jekyll/Hyde tale. Incredibly original and riveting. I'm dying for the sequel already.

I have no words. This book s just awesome

Definitely not what I expected in the least. I was actually thinking a typical Hyde and Jekyll story with a small twist in a Victorian Era setting but boy wasn't I shocked when I read it. Specially when it was in the modern era

This story was far more than I bargained for when I first got it. But let me tell you it was worth it. I was thinking "Why in the world didn't I read this sooner?" I mean it was so good.

The story id about Mitchell Turner (our bad boy) and Eden Colfax ( our super sweet girl). He was a tortured soul constantly punishing himself and pretty much had no point in life until she came along and just totally turned it upside down. Yeah it sounds like your typical good girl turning bad boy into a saint but it isn't. This is much much more. It just is. I mean I don't know how to tell it but it really is. The story is really cute and the romance is sizzling. It had everything I love in a book and Jolie -.-

Romance, mystery, supernatural. This was a good mix of all of them. Yes most of you might not like it when I put these genres but believe me on this one, this book is awesome.

The only problem in this (other than Jolie that it is), the damn cliffhanger!!!!

Well, damn. That was quite a ride. Lies, secret organizations, betrayal, murder, monsters and mayhem galore. It was quite a lot to pack in. I was frustrated for a good deal of the beginning of the book. I couldn't decided who could be trusted, and the only character I even kind of liked was Eden. But then good old Mitch finally gave in and actually became the hero of the story, and what a hero he was. Talk about a tortured soul. He was intent on being the bad guy, even if he didn't really want to be.

I was so proud of Eden. For a timid good girl, she didn't let Mitch get away with spouting his "I'm so bad" BS.

"All of us hate to be caged Mitch. For Hyde and Chastity, it's necessary. But for the rest of us, it's a choice."

Oh, and when Mitch finally gave in, it was a beautiful thing.

"Eden was....Eden was something completely different. It wasn't her outward beauty that drew him in. It was her strength, her fire, her desire to what was right even when it wasn't easy, her ability to make him see himself as a worthy human being.

I love that the "monsters" turned out to be some of the least "monstrous" characters in the book. Oh, and Landon. That was a nice little surprise to throw in right there at the end.

Great read. Moving right on to book two!

“Relationships are complicated."

"Not all of them. For instance, our relationship is very simple. You are annoying; I am annoyed. See? Totally uncomplicated.”

Eden Colfax never lies, never curses, and is loyal to a fault. So when she wakes up naked in the bed of a man she has never met, no one is more surprised than her. But the truth is that Eden has always been plauged with bouts of sleepwalking but until she met Mitchell Turner she thought she was alone. Mitchell can help her. He is also plagued by strange behavior that sometimes ends with violent circumstances. Despite being wary of each other, the two form an uneasy partnership, which must grow stronger as they learn that they are being manipulated and controlled.

This book was such a roller coaster of emotions. Action, intrigue, romance, horror...this book has it all! I loved Eden, she was such a believable character, despite all the crazy things that were happening to her. And Mitchell was just...wow. *fans herself* He was deeply disturbed and haunted by secrets but it was fantastic to watch his relationship with Eden develop.

This was a unique book. Eden has always been a good girl when she wakes up in a strangers bed naked with no memory of getting there she thinks she's losing her mind. Mitch takes pride in being arrogant and rude. Eden gets under his skin though and he's not sure how to treat her. Mitch has a beast he becomes once a month named Hyde. Hyde is a bad man and capable of murder. Eden keeps ending up with Mitch without knowing how she's getting there. Turns out Eden is more like Mitch than she ever thought possible. Both of them are being played by many outside people. Can the work their own issues out with one another and not fall victim to being someone else's pawn.
I thought this was a unique, captivating, and dark story. I can't wait for the next one to see what happens to these two. This book had a 50 shades feel to it in a paranormal way IMO.
