Oops, I forgot I had read that!

What Jenny really means to say is "Oooh shiny...*dazed look*" Seriously :P

I'm like a magpie.

And it's true. My Grandpa grew up in Tennessee and he said that Racoons would find anything silver and would coat their burrows in them.

Loved that book. I read it when I was younger and cried my eyes out.

Either that, or it could go the other way and you'd hate the book because the author didn't get it right!

I may have to check it out since I am from Louisiana and was born not far from NOLA. Anne Rice always got it right. ;)
does anyone else hate the VA covers?
why did she put such good books behind such stupid covers?
the first one looks like roses (im assuming its rose) shoulder is melding into her face

In fact, check out page 1 of this topic near the bottom. We had a little bit of a bitch fest about it. :)

I read "Warm Bodies" a few months back. It was such a good book. A zombie book but not your typical zombie book. It actually made me feel FOR the walking dead. I love when the cover and book are both awesome together.

Same here. I had no idea there were going to be more. It just seemed like it'd make a good trilogy judging from the covers and titles. I haven't read this series, yet, though.

Dream Realms Trilogy (First Two)

"Fallen" Books (First Three)

Except for "Destined" and "Passion" it looks like they're all wearing the same dress! Or, if not, very similar dresses with the layered ruffled skirt and all. lol.

Splendour Book Cover Photo Shoot

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man!

The funny thing is that I get the impression that I saw a third cover with the same dude.
You would think that Nalini Singh is doing well enough that they wouldn't have to use stock art for her covers?

The re-issue of Cindy Pon's book

The sequel to Silver Phoenix suffers from it, as well

And I had one cover come across my desk in a distributor email which just...I don't care how good the story is, I'm not putting that book in our order queue.

Don't Expect Magic's cover completely dehumanizes the young woman on the cover and relegates her to an 'upskirt' shot. This is a friggin' YA book! I swear, I had a 'flames, on the side of my face' response to it.

I laughed because we actually had this conversation earlier in the topic. Those types of books are beautiful, but really do start to blend together.
Slmstanley, I was in the bookstore today and saw the cover for Don't Expect Magic. For some reason, I thought it was absolutely adorable. The quirky stockings make it seem less trashy/more covered up to me.

..."
Authors like Richelle Mead and Kelley Armstrong, who have sold millions of books still get stuck with crappy stock covers too, while new and upcoming authors get some of the best covers. It's so backward to me! I know that publishing companies might want to put their best foot forward with new authors, but at the same time...respect the ones who are making you the money too, right?
Similar stock covers are so common that GR has listopia lists for lookalikes.
I have both of these books, hah.

They seem to just recycle the same YA covers over and over again which is just...ugh.

Like the covers as a concept because they're beautiful, but I hate that they're overdone, if that makes sense.
