Now listening to Ba Tay - Youssou N'dourWent via System of a Down.
Nice choice Mews. Always liked James Taylor.

Wow, that must be wonderful Patti!
Funny story goes with that, actually...As you know, nothing ever starts on time in Africa. Dave, a couple of friends and I arrived at the "venue"...thats a funny story in itself...when it was supposed to start and wandered around, had a couple beers, etc. Heard music but reckoned it was the was the warm up band. All of a sudden heard amazing drumming happening so rushed inside. Was Youssou playing. We caught the last 20 minutes of his set. We felt like pillocks.
There was an amazing Bob Marley tribute band there as well. Saw them more than a few times. Ugandan band called Blood Brothers. No idea if they've recorded anything...

I love her work. I think it's because of her artistic background that every time she brings out a new work it challenges me. I use to feel that way about Yes, but they have lost it a bit, of late.
He's just got all huffy. Told me to tell you he's got Tales of Topographic Ocean which must be at least 1974.
Patti (P E) wrote: "He's just got all huffy. Told me to tell you he's got Tales of Topographic Ocean which must be at least 1974."I think you'll find that it's earlier than that Patti. More likely 1971 0r 1972.
The latest album - Fly from Here has just come out. It seems to be a reforming of the Yes band that made Drama, which many Yes fans derided, but I thought was very good and produced the excellent single I am a Camera.
He's sure Topographic Oceans is later than that. LOL He's gone to look at the cd as I won't hand over the laptop.Hey. Ive given him my second kindle! What more does he want?
He's says it was first issued 1/9/74.
I got two Adele albums over the holiday. 19 and 21. must get them loaded onto the ipod so I can listen to them!

I love The Hissing of Summer Lawns. What a great album and what a title. Patti would appreciate it. ;-)
Joni Mitchell. Great album. Excuse me a moment while I chase a spider with a can of poison. I have the poison. Not the spider. Of grief you know what I mean.nevermind it ran under the couch. hard to type while stood on a couch. I need a drink. Someone hand me the rum.
My knight in tarnished armour vanquished it. Squished it actually. Men are good for two things. Opening jars is the other one.
I'm currently listening to Camel's 2002 album A Nod and a Wink. Beautiful music. Simple Pleasures is a fabulous track.
Here are the lyrics for Simple Pleasures:When she left the room
her perfume filled the air.
Thirty years gone
it's still there.
How I love to breathe
the air she left behind.
This trick of fortune
fills my mind.
Simple pleasures,
silver treasures.
Take me far, far away...
Faded roses on
a table set for two.
An open window
shares my view.
Out among the fields,
breezes dance and play.
Tender mercies
soothe my day.
Simple pleasures,
silver treasures,
Take me far, far away...
Whilst I love musical composition, I can be entranced by lyrics like this.
Off to my usual start - Electric Teepee - Hawkwind.Kind of inevitable really. My iPod was born in the wrong era it seems.
Well this is absolutely not to my taste but it is the last thing I listened to :Playing in the Shadows
But what I did think is that some people might be interested in this : MP3 Album of the week Newsletter
Clever little iPod. It couldn't wait to play A Kind of Magic for me today, by Queen of course. It's not its fault that it couldn't play it yesterday, I didn't listen to enough music.

LOL. It drives better than I do anyway. All done now and it does sound gooooooood. Got a pen drive with tracks on, it shows the track artist etc on screen. I can search or browse by artist, track, album etc. When I use the iPod it tells me I'm on page 114 of the index.Listening to In Search of the Lost Chord by The Moody Blues.
