It's now on this site, too. https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Sounds like Derby buses have a lot of similarities to Dublin buses.

These were Burton buses, but what's a few miles between friends? I reckon it's the same buses and crew that are used everywhere, only the names are changed to confuse people.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ah right - I have actually been on a Derby bus, but not a Burton one. What colour are they? Dublin buses are currently these ones

but in 1970s it was like this

message 2976: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I think they were red, white and green in the 1970s. They're all over the shop now. The latest incumbents are orange and red (I think, my sense of colour is a bit suspect) http://www.midlandclassic.com

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments They are bright and cheerful. And difficult to miss - which is probably the reason for the colour scheme. :)

When I say 'difficult to miss' I mean easy to see, rather than easy to catch!

Nice one, Jim! It's the oldest swinger in town, isn't it?

message 2980: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments That's the same guy. A chap I knew way back (like in the 1970s) had his LPs and used to play them a lot so a lot of the songs got stuck in my mind

try this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOdeI...

I may be getting this mixed up, because I was somewhat inebriated at the time, but I felt sure I once saw him running a disco in a pub in Paignton.

message 2983: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I genuinely don't know whether he did that sort of thing or not.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I get a message saying 'Confirm your profile'. I think that hasn't quite worked right...

Jim | 21809 comments somehow you look as if you've been photoshopped into the photo :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Nah - Philip is the centre of everything, and the photo was shopped around him!

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Jim wrote: "somehow you look as if you've been photoshopped into the photo :-)"

It's the story of my life, Jim. I look like I've been photoshopped in reality, which is why so many people say " Is he for real?"

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I've been thinking about the publication date for the new book, 'The Things You See...' Originally it was going to be November 12th, then it dawned on me that there really is only one date for a book called something like that - it'll be out there on October 31st! Available for pre-order shortly :-)
