Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)
Jim wrote: "Hope it goes well :-)"Thanks Jim. I just need it to expand beyond the original 21 who have downloaded it for Free! :-)

Nothing to do with the above, but I would be interested in hearing what you think of this:https://youtu.be/C2Jzyk1gLbM
I have really bad sound on this computer (Just the speaker in the screen) so I struggle to hear it. That's my problem, not a fault of the video.
Jim wrote: "I have really bad sound on this computer (Just the speaker in the screen) so I struggle to hear it. That's my problem, not a fault of the video."I wouldn't bet on it, Jim! I think the sound started out reasonably ok but then it's been through two conversions to get it on to You Tube. Thanks for taking the time to listen anyway :-)
By the way, I've just had this really brilliant review for

Well, I've had a good go! :-)
You have to be either very brave or very stupid to launch a humorous book about a pair of undertakers in the teeth of a global pandemic and I think we all know I'm not very brave!Anyway, it's got its first review!

Ok, here's a 'heads up' as our transatlantic cousins have it ;-)Tomorrow, for one day only (unless I've screwed things up) the new collection of humorous stories 'A Dubious Undertaking' will be FREE! It may be in poor taste but I'm willing to be you'll find it funny :-)

well I shared it on my facebook page, a couple of people liked it, don't know whether they downloaded
Jim wrote: "well I shared it on my facebook page, a couple of people liked it, don't know whether they downloaded"Thanks Jim. Much appreciated. I think I can confidently say that the answer to your question is "no", which tells you a lot about how many people have downloaded it :-)
It's a bit tricky actually, because this marks a complete change of genre for me (into fiction) and it's difficult to get a toe-hold.
Jim wrote: "We're all awash in a flooded market I'm afraid"Aren't we just! Anyway, for those struggling to gain a foothold in the raging torrent, this is the award-winning title story of the new anthology, so you can try before you risk 99p!

Just read it this evening, great fun and enjoyed it.I think you should seriously consider putting together more of those stories :-)

You're a gentleman, Jim! Glad you liked it. As you may have noticed, there's a novella that's been a WIP for my undertakers for quite some time. If this collection gets reasonable feedback then that might spur me to finish it :-)
Far be it from me to prompt (ahem, ahem) but, as you know, reviews on Amazon (or here, for that matter) make a real difference when it comes to giving prospective readers the confidence to take a leap of faith :-)
Yes, it's Good Friday and you've forgotten to buy someone an Easter Egg, haven't you? Why not send them 12 animal-themed stories and contribute to a good cause into the bargain? You did know you can now give Kindle e-books as a gift, didn't you? All profits go to TURN Education so you can have a warm glow of having done the right thing AND retrieve the Easter Egg situation :-)http://getbook.at/animalturns
My sincere thanks to the seven doughty individuals who took a leap into the unknown and downloaded A Dubious Undertaking and other stories for FREE yesterday. I hope you enjoy it.In the meantime, if you happen to have 99p to spare and are up for a similar leap of faith, you might want to check out this sample story first:

How sad that the authorities in this world have no understanding of the art of capitalism.

A bit of a plea! If you've bought a copy of 'A Dubious Undertaking and other stories' or if you've pounced on a copy during one of the FREE promotions, then could you please consider leaving a review? It doesn't have to be War and Peace! Heck, it doesn't even have to be positive!! Any little snippet would be really helpful :-)http://getbook.at/ADubiousUndertaking

BTW is there anyone out there with sufficient knowledge of how Goodreads works that could help me? I've got two books on here now that are linked to Amazon but don't have the thumbnails of the covers. Any ideas?
you have to enter the book on your my books pageClick on your picture on the top right hand corner
A menu should drop down, click on Author Dashboard
Then on the author dashboard go to the top right hand corner again, you should see this
My Author Profile »
Edit My Author Profile »
Add a book »
click on 'add a book'
Add your book there and you can put a picture in as well
