Dang! I was all set to put in this challenge under "Walking Dead"-then I remember, it's not a series book. Does anyone know any Zombie series (excluding Forest of Hands & Teeth)?

You've probably read these Lethal but are zombie books. Some of the recent YA post-apocalyptic books have zombie-like creatures in them, there was a recent one which called them 'beaters' or something but can't remember the name of it :/

I read it, liked it, but wasn't crazy about Mary. She really upset me with her obsession with the ocean ... even at to risk of the lives of everyone else.

I thought the whole trilogy of The Forest of Hands and Teeth was OK (but then I'm a wuss that can't cope with too much blood and guts). These weren't in your face zombies - no munching on brains, in fact they were pretty secondary to the whole story.

The central female character in each book I found to be initially intensely annoying (Mary was the least annoying and I rather missed her in the subsequent books).
