My daughter and I really think it should be Alex Pettyfer, he looks like how Jace is described in the book. The hair and the really cocky attitude
I'll say honestly that Alex is NOTHING like the Jace I imagined at all. Possibly are his 2006-2007 days, but have people looked him up lately? Everyone ages, he looks like a real grown man now, not someone Jace's age. In general, Jamie "looks" like Alex did back then.
Either way, Jamie in terms of acting will probably fit better in this series than an older Alex does. Alex just doesn't look the part anymore. Period.
And from the evidence presented, Jamie can easily fit the part and from what Cassandra said, he can act the part as well.
Alex turned down the spot people, PLEASE, get over him. This is like... some people have been dumber but refuse to believe it. XD

I think Jamie will amaze us all with his acting ability... they can make him look however he should look - he's grown out his hair and looks to be beefing up a little - I think he is a really good actor - Camelot, for example - is really good. Everything I've read about his audition says he nailed Jace - so come on - calm down and breath everyone - I think he was surprise the doubters when the movie comes out

Like I said before in this thread, when I saw Rob walk out on the screen of Twilight as the heart throb, I literally laughed. But by the time the credits rolled, I was in love. So movie magic will make it work.
Movie magic however didn't make it work for Hunger Games guys. But the movie still looks awesome.

LMAO! I thought I'd put in my 2 cents... but it won't make any difference - he isn't what I orginally thought Jace to look like, but the Casting folks and Cassie have all said he nailed it - so I think a little trust is due on this subject

Yeah but The Mortal Instruments shouldn't have English accent because that's a Clockwork thing! Lol. I'm not opposed to him having an English accent, I just imagined Jace as an American.
I was curious what kind of accent he would do as well... I would like to keep the accent, love it, as most American women do ;-)

I could go either just b/c I love the accent but I've always pictured have with an American accent - the same as Clary would have

He looks to young/lanky...that's not what I pictured Jace as, but you never know he may surprise us

Jesus, I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle this. I've already said this on a different discussion, but when I first saw the teaser trailer all I could think about was him playing the sparkly bitter vampire Caius. Just.. just no.

JCB is not hideous! You can be sad and disappointed, which I can understand. When JCB was first announced as Jace, I was also devastated. I always picture Jace as someone so stunningly handsome, which JCB is not. But I think JCB is not a bad actor at all. He play well as Caius, while Alex Pettyfer, my first option, has failed "I am Number Four".
JCB might still look less handsome as Jace for me, but with his acting skill, I have no doubt that he can pull the charming and witty Jace. And I wish The Mortal Instruments - City of Bones movie all the best.
This might be a little late. But no. I saw the movie and NO. It didn't work for me. Doesn't anyone agree?
Yeah.........no. In the books, Jace is all hot and muscular but here? He's, well, not.
I watched the movie the day 1 it was released here and I was utterly disappointed with the movie.JCB might be convincing enough as Caius in Breaking Dawn but he is NOT Jace Wayland. JCB is far from stunningly handsome Jace Wayland
