Yeah that is like the only movie he actully kinda looks cuteish!LOL I think its going to be exactly how people reacted to Daniel Radcliff in Harry Potter. At first they didn't think he was the best fit, but now his movies are number one and everyone loves him for his role! I hope The Mortal Instruments is going to be like that with Jamie.......Lets just give him a Chance!!!!!:)

And, to be honest, I'm getting pretty annoyed with Alex Pettyfer being cast for every freaking role of every freaking character with blond hair from a book. I mean, I'm happy for his career, and he's a good actor, but... Alex Rider. Beastly. I Am Number Four. It's getting a bit old to me.

lol This cracks me up. :o) As for Beastly, it was a horrible movie. I haven't seen Alex Rider ...but I can see your point of view. It is only fair to give other actors a fair shot too.

However, he isn't what most of us pictured so if others can voice their opinion that he is just fine for it, others should be able to voice their opinion that his looks aren't what they would want for Jace's character on screen. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it all plays out on screen. :o) Who knows, it could be fine. I just know that the photo that started this whole discussion is not my cup of tea. Maybe a different photo would have been better? As for his acting, I can't judge anything based on his acting as I've never seen him in anything up to this point.

Lol agree, but can't do nothing about it! I know Jamie will do good at acting like Jace it is just how there going to make him look, but I think he will do great for Jace! Yeah I have to agree we need to see him with the clothes and makeup before we can judge him!:)

Not what I was expecting, but I think he's cute! For some reason this casting kind of makes me think they're going more for Jace's snarky side, and less of the angsty stuff, though that might mean more if we're not really expecting it? I dunno. I can see him hanging around Magnus' apartment watching soap operas much more than I can with Alex.

No, I'm not saying IANF was bad at all. I thought it was pretty good, in fact. Beastly isn't very good, but I didn't like the book much, either. I don't think it's his acting that changed it.
But I just hope they try to make Jamie look Hot like Alex......

i watched camelot with him in it and he was very good, the eyes dont look right but then the actors in a movie rarley look like characters we have in our imagination from the book

To each his own, but I have to respectfully disagree. He's just not that attractive to me. However, Rob Patterson wasn't either, at first. He grew on me, so we will see what the make artist do for him and his hair for the movie.
^^agreed! i, personally don't find him attractive... but then again, we don't know his 'look' for the movie. maybe cassie can visualize him much better than we can. I wasn't a big fan of Josh Hutcherson for Peeta, but after seeing the pictures, I am blown away!!
Yeah I also personally don't think he is that attractive, but lets see what the makeup and hair artist have in store for us!!!!!!!:)
i was disappointed to find out they had chosen him for Jace. Alex Pettyfer was perfect. Have you guys noticed that they have done a horrible job at casting at least all my favorite books that are getting turned into movies. it all started with Twilight now City of Bones and i'm not really liking the cast for The Hunger Games. some one told me he was a good actor but i personally don't think so. and if its not a very good actor then at least some one get some one that looks like the character from the book. sorry i just love this series and i don't want them to ruin it, and i think the biggest part of a movie is casting. i was on youtube the other day watching fan made book trailers and some of the actors they had chosen were perfect. but that's just me.
I think Jamie would be a good choice.....He's not the Jace I imagined but he could definately pull it off
