I'm happy that Jamie got the part, when i saw him in the prisoner i thought he would be the perfect jace. i always pictured him as jace and hes a good actor so hes perfect for the part.

hey guys, i personally agree about the whole Alex Pettyfer shoulda been Jace fiasco but hating Jamie won't do you any good. The only reason that Jamie got the part was becasue ALEX (whom i do adore) turned it down for the apprentice crap which doesn't even match up to the MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. GARRRRR!!!! why couldn't Alex just be a good boy and take this offer?
Hopefully he plays a awsome Jace

Yes definitely! I pictured him a little bit differently, but it looks the same. Can't wait for this movie cuz I'm a fan of these books!

remember though... anne rice didn't tihnk Tom Cruise could play Lestat at first either and he did an amazing job :) Eberyone pictures their favorite character differently *shrgus* I'm willing to wait and see, i'm sure he'll do a great job

Mountains out of Mole hills People. Of COURES He looks nothing like what YOU think Jace should look like. When they make books into movies, the actors rarely ever match what you have in your head. Case in point, Hardly any of the actors in the Potter movies matched what I had in my head. Daniel came close to the Harry I envisioned and the only one that was spot on of my vision was Emma for Hermione, but I none of the other actors came anywhere near my idea visualization of the characters. When Actors are cast, they try to get as close to the defining characteristics as they can...Hair, eyes, general build. What the actor doesn't have naturally, they can fake. Contacts, hair Dye, etc...But no matter what they do, they'll never quite match you're own vision. But the look of the actor is almost secondary...what they are really looking for is Acting talent. They could find a hot looking guy that's the spitting image of Jace, but if he can't act to save his life, then that will ruin the movie way more than the fact he doesn't have Jace's cheek bones.
So the thing I care about is...Can the actor act?
Can he put on the character and portray him in a way that is true to that character. His he believable?
Will he be able to pull off the "I'm a badass, that can quote classical literature in Italian and Latin while insulting you in the middle of a battle royal of demons" Personification that is Jace Wayland...

Let's see if he can capture the essence that is lion-faced Jace. Kinda worried though, but hey, it could be worse. At least he's closer than the guy they chose to play edward in comparison.Darn. It's him. I hope he pulls it together for this- I mean, in Camelot, he's not bad, but... There's definitely room for improvement. *bites nail*

Alex is a jerk for saying no to this, but that's his loss. I don't really think he could do it anyway.. Yes, the guy is good looking, but there's more than just the looks. Get over it, he's not going to be Jace so why not just accept it and give Jamie the benefit of the doubt. He can do it!

Everyone wants Alex Pettyfer, but seriously, I never would have thought of him. He's too popular. When he walks onto the screen, instead of saying, 'oooh, Jace!', people would have said, 'ooooh, Alex!' and that is totally not the point. and I think Jamie, while not looking exactly how I imagined Jace, does fit the picture..... Except for his chin stubble :P Yuck.

The casitng people really messed this one up... He looks like Peter Pan and like twelve years old. I don't even think he can act very well either. The TV show he is in, Camelot, is also not the best show ever. If you watch it, you will see what I mean. But seriously.... Jace is supposed to be like big and buff and hot. Not small and scrawny and stalker looking. jeez

Overstatement.... not that big of a deal. Big and buff just means muscular.

Why are people going by only one picture of Jamie? This picture is just a fan manip. It is not how he will look on screen. Do a Google search, and see Jamie in his various roles. He is quite the chameleon, changing his look to suit the roles he is in.I think that wardrobe and make up will make hin the perfect Jace!

i saw Beastly. that was really bad. i just think that he couldnt embrace everything about jace. he could have been able 2 look the part, but couldnt DO jace....
Agreed about the opinion thing here, too. I think Alex woulda suited the role quite well... In beastly, his character is different... There are two whole different themes going on and both characters are just different, u know what I mean? In real life, I hear that he's quite sarcastic, funny, and Jace-like. Haha, ummm have you seen him in stormbreaker? I think that's his closest movie to being like Jace...?
