He really doesn't look like the Jace wondering about in my head but I'm sure he'll be nice. Let's trust the magic of cinema :)

I honestly wish they would have cast Alex Pettyfer for the role of Jace. I guess he's just what I always pictured Jace to be when I read the books. I do love the fact that Jamie made an appearance in the Harry Potter series as well as the Twilight Saga though. Maybe he'll shock us all and be fantastic.

He's already in Breaking Dawn. He plays Caius, one of the Volturies. He's in Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows part 1, too..
Personally I think he'll do excellent as Jace! He's a great actor!! Maybe he isn't what we all figured Jace would look like, but then again, is it even possible for a human boy(man, guy call it what you want) to look like our part angel, part human, part shadowhunter Jace?? I'm not so sure about that. He's unique, one of a kind. A total dreamguy!
I just watched an episode of Camelot to get a good look at this actor and personally again I agree Alex would have been the better choice Darn it I wish he would have taken the part all his other movies coming up look boring shoot Beastly was horrible but I loved him in I am #4 this Jamie Campbell guy is sooo not Jace his hair for one thing will need extensions in it its so lifeless... and he just looks weird..
Ugh! I tell you the more I watch him in Camelot I just cant see him as Jace his forehead is way too big, his body shape is off he just is not Jace!

OK. For those of us who get Jace, who understand his sarcasm, wit, pain, and the other complexities of him, we know that the person portraying him has to be able to act! Yes, Alex is great-looking and I also saw the photo of him with all the runes steled on his skin. Yes, immediately thought "That is Jace." But, sucky acting ruins a movie! Imagine if the person who plays Jace just butchers him on the screen. You would feel so cheated and mad. Jace is more than just his looks!!
He obviously already impressed the director, and he is hot in King Arthur. So maybe. I wish him the best, and I probably wont be 100% happy with his casting until they release images as him actually of Jace, but he's certaintly not a terrible choice. I think with the right hair cut and wardrobe he could make a very convincing Jace.
REALLY?! WHAT THE [BLEEP] i can see it already how people are going to compare to Edward. Hopefully they don't put in the scene in the first book where he plays the piano then the twihards will really start!

Personally, that is not Jace. I know everyone has seen and wished Alex Pettyfer to play him, but I saw Alex as Jace in the book. Although, I think Jamie has potential and I believe he could pull off playing Jace.
I think that he might do a good job playing Jace, but I can't take him seriously after he played the albino vampire volturi dude from Twilight :(
i think he would be a good Jace, about the eyes, it is not as in twilight... in the books Clare describes Jace with golden eyes and that pics look pretty fair to me, the hair is fine and so is his face, let's just wait for it maybe he can really surprise us all or maybe not
well i read that they're gonna get him to do some body lifting thing and a haircut and contacts

not what I would orig picture Jace as in my head but in the end i could give him a chance. Ultimately he could pass if his acting can capture the attitude and personality of Jace. Also pictures don't always do justice and need to picture him in the right look as they would do the cloths and make-up to make him more like the Jace in the books.
hey guys, that was just some pic of him on the internet...that most likely is NOT how he will look as jace, i imagine they will change his looks a lot. alex pettyfer is the opposite-he's got the looks but not so much the talent. i mean i guess he wouldnt be THAT bad, but he really sucks at acting, in my opinion
I think that when they get him all dressed up as Jace and in character for photo-shoots people will stop complaining. Besides he is a good actor...unlike some others in other movies I will not mention. So, I think he can pull it off. Hmm they should post his the audition tape on the internet. That would also calm fans a bit.
He looks unlike Jace. Soz to put it out there if you are a favour of him. But he is def not the best look like Jace i had in mind. But I guess I can Try and Accept the fact that that he is the role of Jace. An plus Cassandra Clare said he was the Jace and didn't mention Alex as i recall.
Cassandra Clare surely did not mention Alex after Jamie has been cast as Jace. It won't be fair for Jamie. And Alex said no to the role. I wonder if he regrets it now.

ALEX was offered the role = he rejected it.
JAMIE auditioned for the role = he was accepted!
It's time to deal with it people. Jamie may not be the perfect Jace for you BUT he is NOT the worst Jace out there.

Actors have to turn down roles pretty often, due to other projects. Looks like AP was already involved with and/or decided to take 3 other movies, one of them being a movie adaptation of

Alex is one pretty face in a business of thousands of pretty faces. But Jamie has something that a lot of young actors don't have: real talent!
he isn't what i pictured when i read the books but when i think back to the descriptions and how old he is supposed to be i think he is a pretty good casting choice. I think the only reason why people think he looks like Edward is because the eyes are that golden colour in that picture, he looks nothing like Edward to me. When it comes to casting a character you have to look at looks yes but the way they carry the character and preform, to me anyway, is far more important. Not all series are going to luck out as much as the Harry Potter series, that only happens once in a blue moon. I have my fingers crossed that all the actors pull off their roles.
