1. What did you think of Catelyn this time around? Do you think she did the right thing or should she have talked to Tyrion before having him taken into custody?
2. Do you believe Tyrion about never betting against his family? Did your opinion of him change? Do you believe him?
3. Did what Tyrion say make you think less of Littlefinger?
4. Sansa looks like Catelyn did when she was younger. She was receiving a lot of attention. Do you think Littlefinger would ever do anything to her? His attention seemed a little creepy to me. Anyone else think so too?
5. Did you think Prince Joeffrey would escort Sansa to her room? Do you think her opinion of him changed any because he didn't?
6. Why do you think the Queen was so upset? Is it because she likes to be the center of attention? Started picturing Snow White's step mother. I got a "Mirror, Mirror on the wall...." vibe.
7. Did you get a little nervous about Sansa being along with the Hound?
8. What did you think of The Hound's story about Ser Gregor?
9. Did you suspect the young knight that died would be the one Eddard wished to speak to?
10. If Littlefinger is lying do you think Eddard's in more trouble than you previously thought?
11. Varys' information was interesting. What do you think Ned will do with the information? Sounds like someone may be trying to kill the King. Anyone else wonder why after the King spilled his wine they were so insistent he have more? Could someone be trying to poison him or am I just getting a little wild with my thoughts?
12. Do you think Catelyn is more likely to listen to Tyrion since he saved her?

1) Were you caught up in Old Nan’s story about the last hero? Do you think there are still children of the haunted forest in the far North? How do you think Old Nan’s version of story ends; happy like Bran believes?
I think she needs to finish the story. Was sad they were interrupted. I think there are still children of the haunted forest. Can't wait to see them join in. I'm wondering if this is the reason Nan has been around so long? Maybe it was her purpose was to preserve the old stories.
2) Why do you think Tyrion designed the saddle for Bran? Does his doing so assure you that he had nothing to do with the attempted assignation on Bran?
I am really thinking he doesn't have anything to do with it. His brother and sister definitely did, but I think he'd have a problem with killing Bran.
3) Why did the direwolves respond to Tyrion with such hostility? Summer was the first to start growling; what is the significance of that? Did this change your mind about Tyrion’s ulterior motives?
I keep going back and forth with Tyrion. Still thinking he didn't have anything to do with the murder attempt, but probably knows who did.
4) Any doubt as to which Robert was Jon Arryn was asking for on his death bed? Do you think he was poisoned, and if so, by whom? If it was by Queen Cersei, why did she leave the castle instead of assuring the deed was done and/or no information passed from Lord Arryn to the King Robert?
He was definitely murder and I'm guessing the Queen or her brother had something to do with it. I think they want another position for the Lannister's in court. This time they wanted the Hand of the King. Right now I see Robert as a puppet king being controlled by the Lannisters.
5) What did you make of Sansa & Arya’s dreams of Bran?
I think they miss their brother. Wonder if he can visit people in their dreams?
6) What was your first impression of Samwell Tarly; did it change any after hearing his life story? Did you agree with Jon’s thought that “it took a queer sort of courage to admit to cowardice”? What was the meaning of Jon’s dream of Winterfall?
I feel bad for Samwell. Seems like a lot of misfits end up at the wall. I think Jon is my favorite character right now. He's a great person.
Winter is coming. I think something bad will befall Winterfall and the clue will be in the family crypt maybe? Trying to stretch things to get something.
7) Were you surprised Jon had Ghost partaken in straightening Rast out by leaping onto his chest? “Remember, we know where you sleep.” Impressed he used that variation on Donal Noye's words of advice? How close a bond has been formed between all these youths of the Night’s Guard?
I think it's growing more and more. I think they'll need to be close in order to survive what's coming.
8) What will be the consequences of Lord Stark giving up some of his own household guard to serve the Watch?
I don't know but it was not sitting well with me.
9) Who holds a vital piece of the puzzle for Lord Stark: Ser Hugh (formally Lord Arryn’s squire) or Lord Stannis (the king’s brother)? Who is more likely to part with this information?
I think they both hold vital pieces of the puzzle, but I'd say Ser Hugh is the more likely of the two to give it up.
10) What is the significance of the lineage book Lord Arryn was reading?
I think it holds the key to Robert's bastard son. Could he actually become a legitimate son? I don't think there could be any connection to Lyanna do you?
11) I can’t write better questions than what we ended with: “What had Jon Arryn wanted with a king’s bastard, and why was it worth his life?” Well, except to ask, which king’s bastard? (I mean which king, Robert?)
That is a very good question.

1. What did you think of Catelyn this time around? Do you think she did the right thing or should she have talked to Tyrion before having him taken into custody?
I think she should have talked with Tyrion first (or Ned!); however, I do believe she thought him guilty, and acted out of fear as well as anger and the need for revenge.
2. Do you believe Tyrion about never betting against his family? Did your opinion of him change? Do you believe him?
I believe him. I thought there might be a possibility he had some after-the-fact-knowledge about Bran being pushed, but not be guilty of trying to kill him. At the inn he seemed too surprised by Catelyn’s attack; he’s smarter than that and, if he had been guilty, would have expected retribution.
3. Did what Tyrion say make you think less of Littlefinger?
I already figured him for a dangerous man to trust, but yes, I think less of the dirtbag. Again, I think Tyrion is telling the truth about Littlefinger’s boasting in court. I don't see Tyrion as having to lie, the truth works well enough for him!
4. Sansa looks like Catelyn did when she was younger. She was receiving a lot of attention. Do you think Littlefinger would ever do anything to her? His attention seemed a little creepy to me. Anyone else think so too?
I didn’t get too much of a creep factor from him. But, you may be right. I should re-read that scene.
5. Did you think Prince Joffrey would escort Sansa to her room? Do you think her opinion of him changed any because he didn't?
I assume you meant Sansa, so I changed the name. Here is my take on that little
6. Why do you think the Queen was so upset? Is it because she likes to be the center of attention? Started picturing Snow White's step mother. I got a "Mirror, Mirror on the wall...." vibe.
I thought, b/f Varys even pointed it out, that Queen Cersei was just goading the king into entering the tournament. But, yes, I think she was to be the COA.
7. Did you get a little nervous about Sansa being along with the Hound?
Yup. Still, he gave her a vital piece of info that she didn’t understand: “Gregor’s lance goes where Gregor wants it to go.” He silenced the boy/knight b/f he could talk with her father. I do think she asked her father to intervene the next day b/c she subconsciously heard something the Hound said; whether it was about his brother's brutality or that Prince Joffrey might have wanted him taken out b/c he showed favor to her, I don't know, but probably the first.
8. What did you think of The Hound's story about Ser Gregor?
Well…maybe I understand him a bit better, but I still think him terribly brutal. And scary. And untrustworthy.
9. Did you suspect the young knight that died would be the one Eddard wished to speak to?
Nope.
10. If Littlefinger is lying do you think Eddard's in more trouble than you preciously thought?
Yes!
11. Varys' information was interesting. What do you think Ned will do with the information? Sounds like someone may be trying to kill the King. Anyone else wonder why after the King spilled his wine they were so insistent he have more? Could someone be trying to poison him or am I just getting a little wild with my thoughts?
I think Ned will talk with the Robert; of course, he may seek out more answers b/f he does this. Ahh…I didn’t catch that about the wine. Interesting! No, not wild, good catch.
12. Do you think Catelyn is more likely to listen to Tyrion since he saved her?
Just a little more likely, but not a whole lot.

I was caught up in the story. I believe it is possible, but I don't know for sure. I think Bran wants to believe that because he's only 7.
60) Why do you think Tyrion designed the saddle for Bran? Does his doing so assure you that he had nothing to do with the attempted assassination on Bran?
I think Tyrion designed the saddle for Bran because Jon asked him to. I don't believe he was apart of the assassination but I believe he will be implicated for it. It's his dagger and no one will believe if he lost it or if it were stolen because they've already predicted that, that is something he would say.
61) Why did the direwolves respond to Tyrion with such hostility? Summer was the first to start growling; what is the significance of that? Did this change your mind about Tyrion’s ulterior motives?
It does confuse me because the direwolves are so protective I believe they can sense danger. I'm not sure why they don't like Tyrion and I don't have an ideas either. I really like Tyrion's character so I'll be saddened if he does end up being a bad guy.
62) Any doubt as to which Robert was Jon Arryn was asking for on his death bed? Do you think he was poisoned, and if so, by whom? If it was by Queen Cersei, why did she leave the castle instead of assuring the deed was done and/or no information passed from Lord Arryn to the King Robert?
I think he found out something he wasn't supposed to. Maybe he found out about the incest? I think it's possible that he was poisoned I wouldn't put it past Jaime or Cersei. I think he was calling for the King. I think he wanted to tell the King what he believed but couldn't. If she stayed at the castle she would have been a suspect, but by leaving no one will suspect her. I doubt anyone would disobey her, and I don't think she poisoned Jon herself she would have had someone else do it.
63) What did you make of Sansa & Arya’s dreams of Bran?
I think all of the Stark children are connected in some way and I think they want each other to be safe and happy. No matter what kind of bickering goes on between Arya and Sansa they do care for each other.
64) What was your first impression of Samwell Tarly; did it change any after hearing his life story? Did you agree with Jon’s thought that “it took a queer sort of courage to admit to cowardice”? What was the meaning of Jon’s dream of Winterfall?
I feel sorry for Sam. I do agree with Jon, because not many people would openly admit that especially to people they don't know. I'm not sure what his dream meant but I think he's having a stressful time on the Wall and maybe thinking of Winterfell helps him. It could be possible that he just misses home. I'm not sure.
65) Were you surprised Jon had Ghost partaken in straightening Rast out by leaping onto his chest? “Remember, we know where you sleep.” Impressed he used that variation on Donal Noye's words of advice? How close a bond has been formed between all these youths of the Night’s Guard?
Jon used Ghost as a weapon which in a way he sort of is a weapon. No one will mess with him as long as he has Ghost. I think he wanted to have some leverage to get his point across. I'm not sure a close bond has been formed but I think it's getting there. They all realize they're stuck there together no matter what.
66) What will be the consequences of Lord Stark giving up some of his own household guard to serve the Watch?
It could end up being a bad decision because who knows what will happen down the road. Who knows what enemies he will have. We already know the Lannisters don't like him, who knows what they decide to do about that. We know in some way the Lannisters were involved in Arryn's death, could Ned be next? Possibly.
67) Who holds a vital piece of the puzzle for Lord Stark: Ser Hugh (formally Lord Arryn’s squire) or Lord Stannis (the king’s brother)? Who is more likely to part with this information?
I'm not sure which one has the more vital information but I think Ser Hugh will be more likely to share his information. I think Lord Stannis will ask too many questions of why Ned wants to know.
68) What is the significance of the lineage book Lord Arryn was reading?
It might clue to something Arryn was looking for. Maybe he figured something out and needed the information in the book as evidence. I have no idea.
69) I can’t write better questions than what we ended with: “What had Jon Arryn wanted with a king’s bastard, and why was it worth his life?” Well, except to ask, which king’s bastard?
That's a really good question. I'm sure the King has multiple bastards but I don't know why Arryn would want to talk to them. Maybe to check on how they are? Maybe to see what they are doing with their lives, if they ever try to take Joffrey's place as heir? I'm not sure how that would work or if a bastard would be eligible but it could be possible. Who knows?

#1) Were you caught up in Old Nan’s story about the last hero? Do you think there are still children of the haunted forest in the far North? How do you think Old Nan’s version of story ends; happy like Bran believes?
I was and I think there still might be children of the haunted forest though I am not sure. I hope happy like Bran believes.
#2) Why do you think Tyrion designed the saddle for Bran? Does his doing so assure you that he had nothing to do with the attempted assignation on Bran?
I don't believe he has anything to do with Bran's attempted assignation so that can't be the reason for the saddle. Maybe he just sympathsize with his situation. I think I am liking him more each page and I think he will have problems with little fingers implications on him.
#3) Why did the direwolves respond to Tyrion with such hostility? Summer was the first to start growling; what is the significance of that? Did this change your mind about Tyrion’s ulterior motives?
Although I don't think he is responsible of the murder attempted, I don't think he is so innocent, after all he cannot be blind to see what his brother and sister are doing. He is just not joining them (or so I hope)
#4) Any doubt as to which Robert was Jon Arryn was asking for on his death bed? Do you think he was poisoned, and if so, by whom? If it was by Queen Cersei, why did she leave the castle instead of assuring the deed was done and/or no information passed from Lord Arryn to the King Robert?
I do seriously believe he was murdered and possibly poison. Poison being said that a womens instrument for murder, than it can be the Queen. She maybe didn't want to be a suspect for it after and was sure the deed would be done. But then further in the chapters, everything is so complicated in the Kings Landing, I am not sure who wants whom to be dead. One thing I believe for sure is noone there wants to be asked so many questions. Lots of secrets...
#5) What did you make of Sansa & Arya’s dreams of Bran?
They are probably missing each other, but also this the second time Bran is an element of dreams so I wonder if he has some abillites about dreams/visions.
#6) What was your first impression of Samwell Tarly; did it change any after hearing his life story? Did you agree with Jon’s thought that “it took a queer sort of courage to admit to cowardice”? What was the meaning of Jon’s dream of Winterfall?
I felt sorry for him and meeting Jon was good for him, Jon will help him through his own journey I believe. Sam can be courageous as well in time, he needs support. I am not sure about the dream.
#7) Were you surprised Jon had Ghost partaken in straightening Rast out by leaping onto his chest? “Remember, we know where you sleep.” Impressed he used that variation on Donal Noye's words of advice? How close a bond has been formed between all these youths of the Night’s Guard?
IT seemes they will understand that they are brothers like Benjen said after all,in time. I was not surprised with the partaken of Ghost as he is Jon's best weapon. I was kind of surprised the incident :)
#8) What will be the consequences of Lord Stark giving up some of his own household guard to serve the Watch?
I am not sure but it seems he might need every guard to serve him soon.
#9) Who holds a vital piece of the puzzle for Lord Stark: Ser Hugh (formally Lord Arryn’s squire) or Lord Stannis (the king’s brother)? Who is more likely to part with this information?
I guess both are vital pieces although I believe Stannis would be more helpful for NEd (not meaning he will part with this information easier, I think Ser Hugh could do that easier)
#10) What is the significance of the lineage book Lord Arryn was reading?
Maybe something about Roberts bsstard son or a connection with Lyanna don't know and it gets more confusing with every new page.
#11) I can’t write better questions than what we ended with: “What had Jon Arryn wanted with a king’s bastard, and why was it worth his life?” Well, except to ask, which king’s bastard? (I mean which king, Robert?)
Oh! LisaKay, you didn't really ask that, did you? I think I have never thought that much on a book I read. :)

What if they can be made legit if their mother is of a noble background?

Do the times match up? 17 years - 14 years are ringing a bell; I would have to check.

Hummmm... Now, there's a question.

Questions for Chapter 32 (Arya) - Chapter 35 (Eddard)
1. Found all of Ayra's training to be interesting and fun. Were you surprised her father did not believe what she heard even after he found out Daenery's was pregnant?
2. Who do you think the two men were? I thought the one might be the Hound and the other might be Tywin, the Queen's father. He's still alive, right?
3. Did you agree with Eddard declining the office of the King's Hand?
4. Do you think Catelyn was wrong for going to see her sister? Why do you think she didn't travel back the same way she came?
5. What is with going to see all the King's illegitimate children? I still can't figure this one out. Though I'm disliking Robert more and more.
6. Gah! More death. Were you surprised that Jamie didn't kill Eddard? I think we'll see a lot more bloodshed before the book is done.

1. Found all of Ayra's training to be interesting and fun. Were you surprised her father did not believe what she heard even after he found out Daenery's was pregnant?
I was trying to figure out if he didn’t believe her or if he was just trying to reassure her. Either way, the up-shot was that he didn’t believe her enough .
2. Who do you think the two men were? I thought the one might be the Hound and the other might be Tywin, the Queen's father. He's still alive, right?
Hummmm… Yes I thought one was the Hound. I don’t know who the other guy was, the one with all the rings. And yes, Tywin is still alive, so it could be him.
3. Did you agree with Eddard declining the office of the King's Hand?
Yes. For awhile I did not quite understand why Dany’s baby is more of a threat than her brother; however, I figure they are worried about it also being Drogo’s.
4. Do you think Catelyn was wrong for going to see her sister? Why do you think she didn't travel back the same way she came?
I am beginning to think she made a mistake. She went that route to avoid being followed, and maybe pick up support along the way – or warn those she came across?
5. What is with going to see all the King's illegitimate children? I still can't figure this one out. Though I'm disliking Robert more and more.
Beats the poop out of me! Ditto on the dislike. Hey, did you notice the comment about Ned surmising that Rhaegar had probably never gone to a brothel? I’m betting that Lyanna and Rhaegar were in love; and I’m leaning more and more toward Jon Snow being their love child – or maybe even legitimate child. Why? -- Did you catch that thought Ned had about the price he had paid for keeping his sister’s secrets right after he thought about how he had “kept his vows”??? (p. 380)
6. Gah! More death. Were you surprised that Jamie didn't kill Eddard? I think we'll see a lot more bloodshed before the book is done.
Yup (to all #6 questions)!!!

Yes, I did, but didn't catch the brothel quip. I wonder if anyone who is reading thinks Lyanna didn't have a child?

1. How's your perception of Dothrakis? What do you think of them as a civilization?
2. Do you think Robb is correct in agreeing with Greyjoy's decision to call the banners? Do you think the Starks (well, some of them) can trust Greyjoy?
3. Did the men have some reason in coming so close to Winterfell?
4. With all the events that are taking place now, do you agree that Catelyn was wrong in going to Lysa place?
5. Tyrion took a very bold chance. What do you think he was trying to achieve?
6. Bah, Robert is soo not on my like-list. Now he wants Ned back as the Hand. What do you think of this?

1. How's your perception of Dothrakis? What do you think of them as a civilization?
They are different and seem to stay to themselves. I haven't seen enough of them to form an opinion yet. They seem a little wild. I hope we see more of how their society works. Wouldn't be surprised if they understand the common language and just pretend not to to see how people act around them.
2. Do you think Robb is correct in agreeing with Greyjoy's decision to call the banners? Do you think the Starks (well, some of them) can trust Greyjoy?
I haven't decided about Greyjoy, but I think he's not as noble as Ned is so I wouldn't take his recommendations to heart.
3. Did the men have some reason in coming so close to Winterfell?
Makes you wonder. They did say someone would like to hold Stark sons for ransome.
4. With all the events that are taking place now, do you agree that Catelyn was wrong in going to Lysa place?
I do. I think she should have stayed away from her sister. She seems a little unstable.
5. Tyrion took a very bold chance. What do you think he was trying to achieve?
His freedom. I think he feels his chances go down each day of surviving.
6. Bah, Robert is soo not on my like-list. Now he wants Ned back as the Hand. What do you think of this?
He doesn't get it. He doesn't have a clue what's going on around him.

I said that at the beginning! Well, maybe not here, but if you check my first (or second) status updates on this book you'll see I thought it was a fantasy Peyton Place.

1. How's your perception of Dothrakis? What do you think of them as a civilization?
I think Martin has done a pretty good job of creating his own idea of a ruthless/barbarian/nomadic/gypsy/equestrian/fierce-warrior/living-off-the-land culture in this book. Kudos to him. I am still getting it a handle on it though. It remains to be seen how mystical/magical/superstitious they are.
Ahh…Lisarenee, you described them as “wild” – I’ll go with that too.
2. Do you think Robb is correct in agreeing with Greyjoy's decision to call the banners? Do you think the Starks (well, some of them) can trust Greyjoy?
I’ve said it b/f; Greyjoy is the character that is the most 50/50 for me. I can see him going one way (Stark) at one time and another way (Lannister) another time – and a third way (Greyjoy) yet to come. Remember, he is both a ward and a hostage. And yes, I think the banners need to be called. Winter is coming! (I’m going to have to do a challenge and spells that out, LOL!)
3. Did the men have some reason in coming so close to Winterfell?
I just assumed they were heading south; but, your question makes me wonder.
Ahh…now that I see Lisarenee’s answer, I wonder even more; still, the ransom idea could have just popped into their heads (I wasn’t suspicious when I read the scene, but what do I know?!)
4. With all the events that are taking place now, do you agree that Catelyn was wrong in going to Lysa place?
Man-oh-man! This is a hard question to answer b/c I see her actions as part of the reason things are escalating so rapidly. Of course, maybe Jaime was just looking for an opportunity to confront/attack Ned.
5. Tyrion took a very bold chance. What do you think he was trying to achieve?
He wants someone who has a chance at winning to champion for him. I think he knew they would not send for the Kingslayer and was hoping Bronn, the sellsword, would think of the riches he might gain or alliances he might forge, if he stepped in. I think Tyrion is a good judge of what motivates people at their core.
6. Bah, Robert is soo not on my like-list. Now he wants Ned back as the Hand. What do you think of this?
Pathetic. Truly pathetic. I couldn’t believe he demanded to see Ned immediately upon awakening and then brought Queen Cersei (man-oh-man, I was boiling over her comments!!). And then topped it off with not wanting to listen to him! HUH? I mean, maybe he was focused only on his own agenda (having Ned back as his Hand), but still, pathetic.

2. I don't think its advisable to call the banners now. True all those stuff happened. But winter is coming!!!! and they would need to conserve their strength. Further Robb is only 15. He needs guidance.
4. I never knew Catelyn's stupidness could go to these bounds. (I read the chapters just before posting the questions) I mean who the heck will capture the younger son of Lannisters in a public inn? Now all the events are escalating out and she is the catalyst. I think its imperative that Ned stays back with the king. In the middle of things. Not in the Winterfell where he would be isolated w/o any news.
6. I agree with you LK. He wants someone to tell everything as it is but does not want that person to disagree with him. He's a study in contradictions. But really, when it does come to politics, he's clueless, but the danger is he does not care. And now, he's a wife-slapper also. I know, times and reason but still doesn't make it pretty to read.
Things I'm really looking forward to read: the cronies prediction of Dany's child. More Dany besting Viserys.

I love it! LMAO! Do you think people will think I'm nuts saying that in the dead of summer? LOL!

A friend told me that the publishers took out all of Dany's entries and bound them into one book that won a HUGO award.

1. I now suspect Littlefinger is one of the men Ayra saw talking in the secret passage of the castle. His beard is pointy, and they talked about him having rings (page 440). Anyone else think so? Still unsure of his motives. Tyrion did say Littlefinger was out for Littlefinger. Maybe it's all for personal gain? Any thoughts?
2. I agree that Lysa is a bad influence on her son and he should be fostered. She seems slightly unbalanced. Anyone agree or disagree? She seems consumed by hate. I'm suspecting something more happened than just her husband being poisoned. Any ideas?
3. Loved that Jon tried to convince them to use Sam in another capacity and stop the torture of his training. Do you think they'll take his advice? I kept hoping he'd go home.
4. Tyrion's story of his first wife was shocking and sad. Do you think she really was a whore or do you think they would do that to her because she was undesirable for a wife of a Lannister? I kept struggling between the two scenarios. I'm guessing she was hired.
5. Tyrion is as smart as a whip. Did you think he'd be able to talk his way out of being enslaved? I guess he knows what drives people, but you also have to have some finesse in order to accomplish a change in thought.
6. I guess a medieval type tale isn't complete unless the villagers are pillaged? What do you think about all the chaos associate with the Lannisters? Do you believe it is the dastardly deeds of Jamie and his Motley crew?

When I first read it I thought the word “rings” was weird there, since it was “the flesh below the ribs”. Then I remembered sometimes chainmail is called “rings” b/c of the way they are circular loops interconnected (like a magician’s rings). The upshot of my answer is – now I don’t know! Maybe so, maybe no, LOL!
2. I agree that Lysa is a bad influence on her son and he should be fostered. She seems slightly unbalanced. Anyone agree or disagree? She seems consumed by hate. I'm suspecting something more happened than just her husband being poisoned. Any ideas?
Ditto on bad influence, son being fostered somewhere else, unbalanced, consumed by hate. I even wondered for a moment if she poisoned her husband herself, since she didn’t want to have her son fostered elsewhere. Wack-o!
3. Loved that Jon tried to convince them to use Sam in another capacity and stop the torture of his training. Do you think they'll take his advice? I kept hoping he'd go home.
I hope they’ll take his advice regarding Sam. I also hoped he’d go home; but, I think that scene was symbolic; he is needed at the wall.
4. Tyrion's story of his first wife was shocking and sad. Do you think she really was a whore or do you think they would do that to her because she was undesirable for a wife of a Lannister? I kept struggling between the two scenarios. I'm guessing she was hired.
Can a virgin be a whore? I don’t think so. However, they certainly tried to make her into one. Was she paid or coerced into their little plot? There is a strong possibility they lied. Extremely cruel. I also don’t think that was the end of the story; I mean, what happened to her? Is she still alive, still a whore? I’m guessing she’s dead; probably killed herself.
5. Tyrion is as smart as a whip. Did you think he'd be able to talk his way out of being enslaved? I guess he knows what drives people, but you also have to have some finesse in order to accomplish a change in thought.
I figured he’d find a way out, but I didn’t know how.
6. I guess a medieval type tale isn't complete unless the villagers are pillaged? What do you think about all the chaos associate with the Lannisters? Do you believe it is the dastardly deeds of Jamie and his Motley crew?
LOL! With pitchforks and scythes in hand? Yes, I think it was the Lannisters/Jamie, and for the reasons Ned figured – to spread-out and thin the defense.

I thought the wording a little odd too so maybe you're right and they weren't talking about rings on your fingers. I do, however, notice sometimes wording in stories is important so maybe it was a hidden clue or just supposed to steer us in the wrong direction? The more I think of it, though, I'm thinking it was Littlefinger. While Sansa has met him Ayra hasn't. It'll be fun to see if I'm right.

1) Does Septa Mordane have reason to be upset that Lord Baelish/Littlefinger overheard what Sansa said her father’s decision regarding Ser Loras? (BTW, I think Lisarenee is right; he’s a little creepy now, stoking her face like that; do you? Though I did like what he said, “Life in not a song, sweetling.”) Comments.
2) Seems like Sansa has fully succumb to revisionist history and also a bit of arrogance. Do you think she will make a good queen? What did you think of her dreaming of Lady.
3) Interesting that Sansa brought clarity to Lord Stark by seeing Prince Joffrey by his true sigil. Still, now that her direwolf is dead, do you see her as more than just an observer? Or just someone unprotected?
4) Where you surprised Lord Stark desired to confront Queen Cersei with her sins b/f speaking with King Robert? What of his choice of location; did that have any impact on her speaking the truth? It didn’t seem to affect her propositioning him. Comments.
5) Did the horse heart eating gross you out as much as it did me (which was a lot!)? Were you ever in doubt of her keeping it down? Does the dosh khaleen’s prophesy reassure you of the safety of Dany’s baby? Were you surprise that Dany and Drogo made love in front of witnesses? Does this make her more Dothraki?
6) Were you worried about Dany and her baby when Viserys threatened her with his sword? Were you surprised with his "crown of gold"?
7) Oh, man! I thought when Lyanna was saying “Promise me, Ned,” in his dream we were finally going to get a few answers or clues as to Jon Snow’s paternity. Where are you on this speculation?
8) What were your observations and conclusions about King Robert's fight with the boar?
9) Do you think Ned should have told Robert about the parentage of Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen? Do you think his decision a wise one?
10) Do you think Ned’s letter will reach Lord Stannis? Is so, any idea what will happen?
11) What do you think of Litterfinger’s advice? Does this make you doubt it was him that Arya overheard? Was he just testing Lord Stark’s resolve? Or is he just keeping his finger in every pie and/or stirring the soup with it?

(BTW, I think Lisarenee is right; he’s a little creepy now, stoking her face like that; do you? Though I did like what he said, “Life in not a song, sweetling.”) Comments.
Still Ser Creepy for me. I do think that she had reason to be upset about being overheard. You don't want things being spread around.
2) Seems like Sansa has fully succumb to revisionist history and also a bit of arrogance. Do you think she will make a good queen? What did you think of her dreaming of Lady.
She is really so young, eleven I believe, that it's really hard to say. She's acting like a spoiled little girl and at times it's hard to remember she is a little girl. Eleven is not an easy age. She's still a child, but wishes to be older.
3) Interesting that Sansa brought clarity to Lord Stark by seeing Prince Joffrey by his true sigil. Still, now that her direwolf is dead, do you see her as more than just an observer? Or just someone unprotected?
I'm thinking she's doomed, but I'm not really sure.

Stupid. Gives her time to do something awful. The man is too noble for his own good.

Does the dosh khaleen’s prophesy reassure you of the safety of Dany’s baby? Were you surprise that Dany and Drogo made love in front of witnesses? Does this make her more Dothraki?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did it before so why wouldn't she do it again? She's like a chameleon and adapts/blends in to her surroundings.
6) Were you worried about Dany and her baby when Viserys threatened her with his sword? Were you surprised with his "crown of gold"?
Yes to both of those, but I peeked to make sure she had more chapters coming.:) Visery's should have known not to threaten Dany.
7) Oh, man! I thought when Lyanna was saying “Promise me, Ned,” in his dream we were finally going to get a few answers or clues as to Jon Snow’s paternity. Where are you on this speculation?
There is a BIG secret. I want to know what it is.
8) What were your observations and conclusions about King Robert's fight with the boar?
Someone got him drunk or drugged and the boar did their dirty work.
9) Do you think Ned should have told Robert about the parentage of Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen? Do you think his decision a wise one?
It seemed cruel to spring it on him when he was dying, but maybe he should have risked it.
10) Do you think Ned’s letter will reach Lord Stannis? Is so, any idea what will happen?
I think it never left the castle.
11) What do you think of Littlefinger’s advice? Does this make you doubt it was him that Arya overheard? Was he just testing Lord Stark’s resolve? Or is he just keeping his finger in every pie and/or stirring the soup with it?
I think he knew Cersie and the Lannisters were not people to be messed with. They're scarey.

#1 - LMAO! Good title. You called this one early, I think!
#2 & #3 Yes, she is soooo young. I'm thinking you might be right. But when? I haven't check to see if she's in the next book.
#4 - Ditto!
#5 - Are you talking about outside the tent? Hummmm... I just thought her maids were around and it was dark.
#6 - Ditto!
#7 - It's killing me not knowing this one, LOL!
#8 & #9 - Ditto!
#10 - Hummmm...
#11 - ???

Questions for Chapter 20 (Eddard) to Chapter 23 (Daenrys)
1. The treasury is more than 6 millions in debt . Did that surprise you? What do you think are its implications? Do you think that it is really 6 million in debt or was it made out to be to that amount?
It did surprise me though I don’t know why. Robert is a glutton and a terrible king.
2. Based on the chapters so far, what is your opinion of Robert? Were you able to get a handle on him?
I can’t stand him. He’s a selfish, self-indulgent glutton of the first order who thinks just because he’s king he’s entitled to everything yet does no work at all. He deserves to die at his wife’s (or her family’s) hands for being such an a-hole.
3. Do you think the Starks were wise in trusting Littlefinger? Does Littlefinger still think of Catelyn favorably?
No, but there was little choice. I think Littlefinger still loves Catelyn and he’ll help as long as it suits his plans, whatever they are.
4. Do you think that the North and the Wall with its beyond is being taken too lightly? Due to the long summer, have people forgotten about it? What do you think of Mormont's request?
Over time people forget. Now, I’m beginning to understand the motto ‘Winter is coming’ a little better. Mormont makes a lot of sense. His request and heartfelt worries are another reason I think Jon is where he’s meant to be.
5. Tyrion's leaving the watch. Have you any idea/theory behind Tyrion's journey? Is it to analyze the strength/weakness of the Night watch if in case of war?
I figured he was curious more than anything though he could have been gathering intel as well.
6. Jon seems to have heeded Tyrion's and Donal Noye's advice. And after Bran's news, he seems to have matured a bit. We also learn that Ben is also missing. And Jon's statement also seems to be some kind of omen. Has anything happened to Ben? Will Jon have to go after him?
I think Ben is now an Other. Jon will eventually go looking for his uncle.
7. Ned's advice to Arya is full of wisdom. Arya seems to understand that but what about Sansa? Will Arya and Sansa ever reconcile?
I have a hard time believing they will, but “Winter is coming” so circumstances may have them sticking together.
8. I was surprised when Ned had Arya taught "dancing" lessons. Were you surprised? Looks like this will shape Arya and Sansa's future. Agree or Disagree?
As soon as he gave Needle back to her I figured he’d arrange lessons. Ageed.
9. Oh Boy, I knew Dany would be ass-kicker if only given the chance. And Vicious had got what was coming to him. What do you think of that incident? Do you think that Dany will have a greater role as time goes on? Especially given the last scene in the chapter where Dany takes command?
I think Dany is going to play a large role in this story. She’s becoming a confident woman and taking control of her life for the first time. Her husband seems to be proud of her.
10. Man, looks like the eggs might just turn viable. Are we going to see dragons? Does this have any significance more with Dany as the one who might "Wake" the dragon? Such an interesting possibility, isn't it?
Hehehe…I just knew it!! I can’t wait for more info.
11. And looks like Dany is pregnant (As an aside, so soon???). What will be the significance of the baby? And with the dragon egg on the other side as well?
The baby is going to play an important part too. Especially if it’s a son. I wonder if the baby and the egg will be born together. Hmmm….

I think he knew Cersie and the Lannisters were not people to be messed with. They're scarey.

Me too!
