Welcome to the group, Kim! Good luck on getting your book finished and out there by the end of the year! How cool!
Hi everyone! I'm Gwenyth and I'm new the the group. I review books over at http://rantsnscribbles.blogspot.com and I also sometimes write about writing...but not so much anymore... Feel free to stop by for a visit any time!
Hey Gwenyth - welcome to the madhouse! This is one of the nicest, maddest, most supportive and most fun groups I've yet to find on GR, so dive right in!JAC
Greetings all, :)Took me forever to figure out how this whole "Goodreads" thing works, am looking forward to it.
Thanks for the invite,
SP
ooo are we starting in German now! I'm game for that so long as you don't expect me to work out the special characters!

I'm surprised you don't want your Black Forest cake with mustard.
hehehehich machte bereits diesen Fehler.
in my german exam, actually. But still not as bad as the girl who got had planned a disquisition on the perils of litter but mixed up Abfall with Durchfall. Alarmingly it worked in the sentence but the visuals were....slightly less sanitory!

Non German speakers may wish to have access to http://uk.babelfish.yahoo.com/ at this point....or not, if you're squeamish....

O, in my case, a German wife.
Welcome Sean!! Hope you have fun around here! And Welcome Gwenyth!! Thanks for sharing your blog with us!
"Guten Tag" is the upper limit of my German; I took a year of it in college during the Pleistocene era. All I remember is the "ie" and "ei" rules and to capitalize all Nouns. Hi Cambria!!!
I'm impressed that I got most of that. I haven't done any German since 1998. I miss it. It seems a pity to put all that work into a language and then not use it and forget about 80% of it.
Well I've pretty much mined the depths of my German (apart from asking the way to the train station of course which is the most-remembered thing amongst students, and the word for Reunification, which isn't) but it sounds like Phil (or Mrs Phil) is our go-to guy for all things Deutsch, so I don't think we have to worry, Sean! And if I forgot to say it before, welcome to you too!
;o)

I remember liking the German word for "calculator," but time has eroded it from my brain. I'd look it up, but I already pressed "enter." ;)
Listening again to JJ I couldn't work out who was more confused, me or the interviewed author Annastaysia having to cope with ticklish mouths, sitting on little people, talking bar-stools, monsters under the porch; then we had internet dating for witches, hair in a can and a reprise on toilet snakes. And all this in just one hour!

You mean you figured it out? Tell me!
Hello! I am an avid reader for many years now. I just began a review blog! I am really new to this and would like to challenge myself with tips and anything you can give me to make my blog better or how to organize my blog a lot better.

Follow me! :D
Hey Cassandra - Welcome! This is a cool group - and if you want tips, there are some good ones in Tips & Tricks further down the page.
What genres do you like? You're probably about to get requests from a variety of authors, assuming you review on request...

Hey, J.A.! Thank you! I was looking for a review group to where I can better myself as a reviewer and get authors and readers to notice my blog more. I have been struggling with it.
I like mostly YA genre, but I also read a lot of Adult Fiction. I am guessing review on request means authors request I review their book and then I say yes? That would be amazing!
Thank you for the awesome advice. I am about to go check out the Tips & Tricks section right now!
Welcome to the group to David and Cassandra! I really hope you enjoy your time here and really get involved. This group is only as great as it is because we have of the most active and energetic members in almost any group!

This is a great place to start expanding! :-) You might also check out Book Blogs (http://bookblogs.ning.com/) if you haven't already. Start snooping around everyone else's blogs, and you will figure out some of the places we frequent.

Do you have Walmart in your neck of the woods?? What is the go-to place for all your basic needs? We were curious... (Maybe I should have saved that for the show...)

No, Cassie, we don't have Wal-Mart. Costco will be starting up soon, we're told, and K-Mart is here. Apart from them, we have to make do with home-grown supermarkets.
Cassandra, you are about to get the biggest reading list! Will come across and see if mine will be of interest though!;oD

Hello hello, all! Just wanted to come in here and say hello (as this seems to be the proper place for new people to do just that!) - I have already said as much somewhere further down the messageboard, but this is the most fantastic group and I am very glad to be here! I'm attempting to set up a book review blog, and generally get more confident and consistent about reviewing, but am full of all kinds of "should I?/shouldn't I?" questions about the whole thing, and am very happy to have discovered that this group exists to share tips and pointers along with a bit of moral support! That and a huge amount of inspiration (and a bad influence on my TBR list) from all the amazing writers and reviewers frequenting the place.
So, um....hello, and I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday night and/or Sunday morning, depending on where in the world you are right now!

I am very glad I did and was struggling for the longest time until I found this group! This group helps you grow in to the whole reviewer thing and they are the most kind with advice!
Welcome to the group, Michelle! :D Very glad you could join!
