Born and raised in California, I fell in love with writing while reading The Outsiders. Then I fell in love with Stephen King's writing style. I enjoy reading many types of books, but YA Paranormal is my favorite. I used to write for Harlequin under a different name. So that's my background. Exciting, no?

I have several books out now including Vampires Rule, Werewolves Rule, Crushed, Witch Hunt, Bait, and 4-Ever Hunted along with the others in the series.

You can find links to all books here on my blog:

I read Hinton's "The Outsiders" when I was a kid, and this book inspired me to start writing. I still pick it every few years and read it again. Love King's books because he makes the impossible seem possible. His characters are so real, so true-to-life that I think every writer should read his books for that reason alone. I love Clare because of The Mortal Instrument series and how awesome Jace is, as he is my favorite book boyfriend at the moment. Brennan wrote a series called The Demon's Lexicon, and there is a surprise at the end of the first book that is truly amazing. Never saw it coming. I highly recommend it. Thanks for the question.(less)

“Stop!” she screamed. “Don’t hurt him.”

“Back off!” Billy shouted.

She yanked harder on Billy’s arm.

“He isn’t a vampire anymore, idiot. Look! Do you see that big, yellow thing up in the sky? That’s called the sun. It’s shining down on him, and he isn’t exploding. His fangs are gone. He’s as human as we are. Case closed.”

Billy stared up at the sky, his jaw slack. “Not possible.”

Jack mumbled, “They don’t call me Jackpot for nothing.”

“What?” Billy blinked at him.

“Private joke.”
K.C. Blake, Vampires Rule

“You aren’t a vampire.” Silver's voice mirrored his shock. She repeated the phrase with a huge smile on her face. “You aren’t a vampire!”

“They don’t call me Jackpot for nothing,” he joked.”
K.C. Blake, Vampires Rule

“What do we do while we wait for my parents to find Jersey?” She let him go, took a step back.

“We live a normal life.”

The words left his lips without emotion or meaning, because at this point he knew there was no such thing as a normal life for him.

Deep in his heart, he was still a vampire.”
K.C. Blake, Vampires Rule

Gusto Dave Hi Kasi! Thanks for approving us as friends.

I’m Gusto Dave Jackson, Publicity Chair for Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and I wouldn’t be worth my salt if I didn’t tout our blog and organization. Chiseled in Rock http://chiseledinrock.blogspot.com features side-splitting satire, cartoons, and some flash fiction for intellectual readers.

This week, we poke fun at Jennifer Crusie, stomp a stupid writing rule, and more!

We also plug an occasional book and interview bestselling authors. For writers, we offer tips and agent/editor interviews. RMFW has several bestselling authors such as Mario Acevedo, RITA Award finalist Joanne Kennedy, NY Times Bestseller C.J. Box, and Julie Kazimer.
