I'd be happy to write a review for your book if you'd do the same for me. What genre is yours? Mine is a suspenseful murder mystery.

Penelope Marzec (penelopemarzec) | 12 comments Thanks for inviting me to join this group. I haven't written many reviews. I am an author, too, and I cannot be harsh and critical about another author's work. Besides, I am a patient reader. I give every writer plenty of time to get into the story and I read every word. I find that books with weak plots, cardboard characters, and even grammatical errors still have some redeeming qualities--if you look for them.

Natalie - I was able to get on there! You may want to add this to the folder for bloggers too. I made the folder so everyone's links to their blogs etc didn't get lost in the mix of the new member messages! :-)

@ Penelope - I agree, there are many good works out there that are not as polished as many others. I try not to be too concerned with the punctuation and grammar unless it happens a lot. Then it can be very distracting and pulls you away from the fantasy world you have tried to immerse yourself in. Then it becomes more like reading a text book (no feeling anymore).

You can download a Kindle version for $4.99. Or you can bid on a signed copy on ebay if you search for cornell deville. It's currently at 99 cents. Or I can email you a PDF document for free. You tell me what you'd prefer. And thanks again for reading and reviewing.

message 86: by Jess (new)

Jess (readingturtle) hey, thanks for the invite...
sharing my opinions on books and reading someone elses is the very reason why I´m on goodreads. :)

I´m currently in a very weird mood for I barely seem to get time to read and therefore simply don´t have anything to write about. But that hopefully changes soon.

Welcome Jess, Brittany, and Jennifer!
@Jess - I'm sure seeing all of these wonderful reviews will jump start your muse, and you will be writing again before you know it!
@Brittany - We are so glad to have you!
@Jennifer - Thanks for the link! It's great to have you! We do have a folder for blog links and such so everyone can see them and they don't get lost in the shuffle!

Also - to the group, remember: look through all of the folders, there have been some new ones added, and if you think of a genre I have not added, feel free to put it up! This is a community group, and I want us all to be active participants here!

message 98: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 46 comments Hello, I am new in here and think this is a great group from what I see so far. Hopefully we can get some tips on how to write better reviews in here as well. Reviews are really hard even and especially when the book a person has read is awesome cause it's so hard not to tell everything about the book but let people know how great it was without just saying...it was great.
I also wish there was a way to post our reviews in Goodreads, directly to Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and any other book sites as well from here. It get's time consuming to load every site and then repost stuff there. Maybe it's something Goodreads could work on somehow.
