Michelle K (anotherlookbook) For Penney

Sorry for the delay in posting. I noticed that alot of books on your TBR list I have never read so it was a bit hard to recommend something that I had read before.

Friends..Lover Unleased By J.R.Ward . The BDB is a tight group of friends and no doubt you were probably gonna read it anyhow (like me) so this is a great friend read.

Romance...Ransom by Julie Garwood Right away on your TBR list I noticed that you had Ransom. It is one of my all time favourites of Julie Garwood and I 100% recommend. You'll love it!

Intense... Intense and Emotions are gonna be the two hardest to recommend. I tend to avoid any books that are tear jerkers or full out comedies. I really enjoyed Toni Causey's Bobbie Faye series. There were lots of totally fun chapters. The first book is where I'd recommend. There are only 3. The first book is just one day so as you can imagine, it was an action packed day. Toni McGee Causey's "Charmed and Dangerous"

Emotions...Ok this book is what I would call a "Super Smut". I am at a loss to recommend an emotional type of book. If you don't like supersmut, toss this rec to the side. I am part of a smut book club and this was one of our reads. Babysitting the Baumgartners by Selena Kitt

New....Paramour by Margaret Ethridge Margaret is a new author and I really loved her debut book. It just came out in January and it has had some great reviews.

Don't forget You had Taming of the Highland Bride on your list since Feb 2010. Who doesnt love a good Scottish Highland story eh?

Support...You have Gentle Warrior by Julie Garwood
on your TBR list and so do I. I love just about anything Julie Garwood writes so I'd be happy to do a buddy read on that book since I haven't read it yet either.
Bonus....
Ransom (Highlands' Lairds, #2) by Julie Garwood
Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward Paramour by Margaret Ethridge
Gentle Warrior (Tapestry Romance) by Julie Garwood
Charmed and Dangerous A Bobbie Faye Novel by Toni McGee Causey
Taming the Highland Bride (Devil of the Highlands, #2) by Lynsay Sands Babysitting the Baumgartners (An Erotic Menage Coming of Age Tale) by Selena Kitt

message 616: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Thank you Michelle :)))

I haven't even had a chance to look at all the books you recommended because I saw Babysitting the Baumgartners! I've been dying to read this book, but always forget to put it on my TBR.

I have to admit, I loved your lists and I was really looking forward to your recs. You came through in a huge way, thanks!

message 617: by Michelle (new)

Michelle K (anotherlookbook) Thanks Sarah for your recommendations.
I noticed alot of the books you chose for me are YA and I don't really read those. You recommendeded Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen and I had alread read it LOL.

I totally agree that Outlander is fabulous and I tend to recommend every chance I get too.

You are right that "Hero at Large" has been on TBR list the longest. It is crazy that I have read every single Janet Evanovich books except that one. I even own it! So that is what I am going to go with. Hero at Large

Thanks for taking the time to search out books for me. I appreciate it.

message 619: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments Hey Laura… we have like… all our books in common so it wasn’t quite difficult.
Here are your rec’s and let me tell you this is one of the best list I’ve gotten together. Hope you find something you like.

Friends : Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. I got this one recommended to me some time ago in a PFMC and it’s a great series, no wonder it’s got like 30 books now.
Romance : Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James. Super funny and one of my favorite new authors, this was her first book I read and it was a hoot!
Intense : Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Such a sweet sweet story!, I love Jamie and suffered along with Claire. It’s a big ass book but you hardly notice since you can’t stop reading.
Emotions : The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I read this last year and I loved it, it’s a very strong book and the story is told by Death which I thought was pretty interesting.
New : New, New, New – If you want to start a new series then read A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole… I am hooked!, this and BDB are my very very super favorite series!
Don’t forget : Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. I see you have this on your TBR, it’s a great series. This first book was funny and sometimes Mac got on my nerves for being such a bimbo but she got tough!
Support : Buddy read – A Lot Like Love by Julie James and Lover Unleashedby JR Ward. I am soooo in if you want to read either of these.
Bonus : Some Girls Bite bite by Chloe Neill. I got this book as a rec on a previous PFMC too and I loved it!, the girls are super fun and the guys are super hot.

Happy reading!!

You're welcome ,I'm glad that you liked my picks. Regin's book has a great impact,it's a very good choice! Happy reading!

message 622: by Shea (new)

Shea | 278 comments Hey Layla,

Here are my recommendations for you:

Friends: Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase

This book was recommended to me in last month’s PIFM. It is the second book in a series, but each can be read as a stand-alone.

Romance: Prisoner of My Desire by Johanna Lindsey

I see that you like historical romances and this is one of my faves. It’s one of Johanna’s older titles, but it’s very good.

Intense: Night Myst by Yasmine Galenorn

This book gives a very solid start to the Indigo Court series. It’s not your typical paranormal romance. More UF, w/ some bits of PNR mixed in. But there’s lots of suspense and it’s very fast-paced. The sexual content is more explicit than previous UFs I’ve read. From the reviews, it looks like this is a hit-or-miss.

Emotions: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

It’s pretty lengthy, but moves the story moves quickly. I really enjoyed this book and on several occasions had to give pause in reading to take it all in.

New: Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

I’m not certain if this will be your cup of tea b/c I didn't see any YA books on your shelves, but I found Nightshade to be one of the best YA fantasy novels I read last year. The story is gripping and the writing is powerful.

Don't Forget: Proof by Seduction by Courtney Milan

I noticed most of the long-standing books on your TBR have not been released yet, so I went with this one even though it’s only been on the shelf a couple months. The premise sounds different from any historical romance that I’ve read.

Support: Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

We both have this book on our TBR and I do like the author’s Demonica series, so this could be a good read to do together.

Bonus: Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts

This story is about making lifetime friendships and finding yourself in the process. A very light read and I enjoyed it.

Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2) by Loretta Chase Prisoner of My Desire by Johanna Lindsey Night Myst (Indigo Court, #1) by Yasmine Galenorn Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer Proof by Seduction by Courtney Milan Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts

Shirley (shirleythekindlereader) Just curious.....does this group stand in front of a store and yell OPEN OPEN OPEN by any chance?

This is my first PIFM, I did mine and am waiting for my selections to arrive. If the 2nd is the deadline why are they considered tardy because they haven't selected for me yet?

I know the selection for me will take time because I have so many to choose from and hope they find a few to add to their TBR shelf.

I am listening to a very appropriate book during my wait period The March by E.L. Doctorow by E.L. Doctorow

Please have a cocktail for me.

Thank you for the wonderful, very thoughtful picks! They are great.

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian
F - Kiss of Midnight, by Lara Adrian looks good. I’ve never read this author before and, by your bookshelves, you haven’t either. I've put it on my library wishlist, both the audio and the ebook.
Too Much Temptation (Brava Brothers, #1) by Lori Foster Too Much Temptation (Brava Brothers, #1) by Lori Foster
R - I’ve already read Too Much Temptation, by Lori Foster; however, you are not to blame for choosing it. It is entered into GR’s twice, the second time again as Too Much Temptation with a different html number. Interestingly enough, though they have individual pages (not just an alternate edition) - and the stars show as empty when scanning to see if I’ve read it - it has that weird/filmy/transparent look to the page and it does get flagged as a duplicate when I do a search of my bookshelves. I know b/c I’ve fallen into the same trap and marked and removed it several times! LOL!
Talk Me Down (Tumble Creek, #1) by Victoria Dahl
I - Thanks for recommending Talk Me Down, by Victoria Dahl. I marked it TBR; I’ve liked that author in the past and you gave it ★★★★★.
Beguiled A Queen of the Otherworld Novel (Signet Eclipse) by Maureen Child
E - Beguiled: A Queen of the Otherworld Novel, by Maureen Child, another unknown-to-me author. You gave it ★★★★. I’ve never hear of it, but it looks fun, so I marked it as “to-ponder”. BTW, glad you went with laughter/seriousness/sizzle for the emotions part of this! Still at $6.99 on Kindle, I figured, “What the Hell!” and instead went with marking it as a GoodRead’s wishlist/bookswap book.
The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston
N - The Mane Event, by Shelly Laurenston is an another author I haven’t tried; however, you rated it ★★★★ and said in your review it had a “bit of everything - action, humor, and HOTNESS”. I marked at as “to-ponder”. It is only $4.47 on Kindle right now, so I may change this to TBR.
Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
D - I put Call Me Irresistible on my library wishlist, both the audio and the ebook. I’ll see which comes in first. Love SEP! I don’t think it’s your cuppa-tea, but thanks for giving me what I want! (view spoiler)Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren DaneComing Undone (Brown Siblings, #2) by Lauren DaneInside Out (Brown Siblings, #3) by Lauren Dane
S - I’ve already read Laid Bare, by Lauren Dane, the first of the Brown Siblings series (LOVE the cover), but you haven’t. I highly recommend it with ★★★★! (Warning: tuggs at the heartstrings a little). So I’ll move onto Coming Undone just so I can finally get to Inside Out (another gorgeous cover), which I hear is H.O.T. Plus, a friend is taunting me with her updates on this third one.
Thanks so much, Jennifer E., for such thoughtful selections. I appreciate the time you spent selecting them. I entered your name in the “Recommended by” field, so I'll know who to hunt down find when I read any of the above. :-)

Sometimes we want to read the books more than we want to read them.

I did. It was good. Not great, but definately good. I might read the rest of them one day. It didn't make me want to run out and buy the other three.

I finally found time to sit down and work on your recommendations. I have not read a single book in your TBR, so this is a bit of a toughie, but here it goes.

FRIEND - The Book Thief - A PIFM challenge rec that had become a favorite.

ROMANCE - Secrets of a Summer Night- Lisa Kleypas is fast becoming an auto-buy author for me.

INTENSE - The Hunger Games - The beginning of a engrossing, disturbing trilogy.

EMOTIONS - Cry No More - Be sure to keep a box of tissues handy.

NEW - Dark Lover - Take a dip into that paranormal romance genre

DON'T FORGET - Promise Canyon - The only book and author that I recognize in your TBR

SUPPORT - Enchanted, Inc. - Won't have time to do a buddy read, so I'm recommending this light paranormal chick-lit instead.

BONUS - Vision in White - First book in a quarter about four female friends.

Well, I hope one of these books will catch your eye and hold your interest.

Happpy reading!
